Love this place, so casual and great for all the family, food isn't exceptional and can be inconsistent considering the price I would love a bit more oomph from the food. Coffee is tasty and the range of draught is always well received. Some great staff there & some who might prefer staying at home instead of mixing with the public. Overall a great place and offers so much to the area, just some inconsistencies.

Very underused in comparison to it's past. Chapter is a great place to meet and move on. It is also very good for parents with kids during the day. The toilets are clean. The bar is traditionaly slow for service. Coffee purchase wait time is lenghty, can take 10 mins to get back to your company. The Cinemas have an excellent selection of programming dealt with by the front desk team and the food looks nice. Study rooms and private room hire available. Table Top Gaming afternoons etc...

Nice place and nice food but quite expensive considering its a student feel. I wasn't too hungry and fancied some chips with a couple of pieces of bread and butter to make a chip sandwich. £5 for chips - ouch! £12 for the bread and butter - DOUBLE OUCH!!! That's £17 for a chip butty 😳 I'm not making that price up. When challenged over the price the manager reduced it to £7 for the two pieces of bread and butter. So generous.

Omg has this place deteriorated or what. Used to be a fun upbeat place but now food is rubbish, not much of a menu, very bland. Staff looked really fed up and miserable. Place was a mess and queue at bar was awful. If you ever need a lesson on how to ruin a once excellent venue, then go here. It's absolutely rubbish. Management need to go, not a clue.

I’ve been coming here on and off for 30 years. It has retained its really relaxed and welcoming atmosphere all that time and now functions on many levels-people eating and drinking, some people seeing art, other students studying and some people working on laptops. It all works really well Z I came to see a film, and had some food. They’ve got a lovely bar as well.

This place is fantastic for a coffee or a beer, and, of course, it has an amazing cinema that screens films beyond the usual mainstream selections. I had the opportunity to watch "I'm Still Here" on its UK premiere date, and it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended

This is the most wonderful place. I go here as often as I can. It is a beautiful building with so much on. I feel extremely lucky to have this so near. The cafe is the perfect place to sit and read or work. The gallery is beautifully curated and the cinema is such good value and shows phenomenal films. Chapter hosts such a wide variety of activities for the community such as swing dancing, yoga, choir singing and so much more. Chapter is the beating heart of this community, I absolutely love it and I hope it's here for a long long LONG time. Thank you Chapter!!! ❤️

Cinema experience used to be good. Since they've relaxed the no eating rule, not so good. Lots of bag rustling and drink slurping, also several people old enough to know better thought it was acceptable to scroll through their phones during the screening.

Hard to keep up with the changes in the kitchen. It's been good for a long time, then over the last few months the menu hasd been amazing but now any substantial food is mostly beige. I ordered a burger as we didn't have tone to go elsewhere before the movie. The condiments trays have gone, I asked for ketchup which came in a small portion and the ketchup has been swapped with something inedible. Completely ruined the chips, which was the only thing I was looking forward to as the burger was not nice for the price. Waste of £20, including drinks. Really hope this is a blip. Have really enjoyed popping in for breakfast, lunch and Sunday dinners, choosing this over restaurants in the area over the last few months.

Advised the Centre that I would be attending with an ambulance disabled person, and that they would require an easy-access seat. On entering the cinema there was no designated seat and the person on the door was more interested in expressing that no one had told them that we would be there, rather than helping to resolve the issue Really disappointed in the absence of any level help or service available or offerer. My companion was not the only person with ambulatory issues, with a couple in front of us being told that they would have to wait for someone to operate the lift as they (the same staff member), stating that they were not allowed to use it.

Chapter 5/5 - always has great things on and is a brilliant community hub for Cardiff West. Chapter food 2/5 £14.50 for a Sunday roast which includes one slice of beef, half a carrot, very thin gravy, small piece parsnip, few roasties, a cold Yorkshire pud and a spoonful of mixed veg. Been a lot of times and it’s very inconsistent, like there’s a new chef there every time I’ve visited.

Served good coffee, free water, reasonable refreshments. Nice place with nice people. Hated the one gender loos. Never mix men with ladies. It smelled like a mens loo, I saw men not washing their hands so the ladies were wasting their time when they exited. Guess it's cheaper and trendy but the ladies in our group were not comfortable.

Lovely venue, great performance, recording and workshop spaces, with a great open foyer / cafe area This cafe is great but also what brings it down, the quality of food and drinks is great, however it’s the slowest possible service I’ve ever had waiting for a coffee, every time I visit is the same. the cafe management and the way staff are trained, is simply poor. I nearly gave this review a 3 star, simply down the cafe staff speed and etiquette. However this is an arts centre, and I must rate it so, and the centre itself is truly great, a 5 star centre let down by a slow cafe
