The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Wales

come here when wanting my favourite bacon, sausage and egg toastie, good prices, good service, and friendly atmosphere.

Ordered take away breakfast, waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for delivery and didnt add any mushrooms which i Paid for. Food was ok but I feel if your cant deliver inisde of an hour you should not be accepting orders.

Its a popular place by word and mouth, so I thought, follow the herd, cant go wrong. However, I found it a disappointing venue. Sorry

We had a mini reunion of about 13 old school mates. Chronological old you understand not in our fierce love of life. The Glasfryn gave us a table in the factory room . They also gave us time a space before ordering our food while there was the usual catch up. We never felt rushed abd when food came it was praised by all. One had to change her menu as the ever populat gammon was unavailable, but she easily replace it with an alternative. As usual the staff were very attentive and chatted to us in equal measure. It was a fabulous day, and even better by the food and staff.

Visited today… 13th Feb 25. Great place for a lunch. Courteous staff. Very tidy , clean establishment. Excellent menu with a Specials board. Beer at very reasonable prices as was the food which was a good restaurant standard. Wide range of food on the menu. We had 4 mains plus puddings. We opted for 2 x Chicken curry, 1 Chicken Tagine and 1 Mackerel dish. I think the Chicken curry was one of the best I have ever tasted This was echoed by my colleague. The Tagine and the Mackerel dishes also had high praise. The very tasty Cheese cake was ordered for pudding x 4. A great meal. The Bear is a treasure waiting to be discovered. We will certainly return.

My 24 year old autistic brother came to your pub last night as he desperately needed help. He’s autistic is a lovely, kind and very trusting young man. He was stranded in Bridgend by a so called friend. None of us are familiar with Bridgend. His phone had run out of battery and he needed to get home to Barry. He was alone, drunk and he is very vulnerable! Without being able to use his phone he couldn’t call an Uber or phone home for help. He came to your pub to ask for help, just needed to charge his phone for a few minutes so he could call an uber, but the bouncers/security on the door would not let him in. He told them he was desperate, practically begging... What absolute disgusting behaviour from these power hungry so called men. He was alone in a place miles from home. He just wanted to come into the pub to ask for help and to charge his phone for a few minutes! My brother was extremely anxious! Luckily a takeaway place helped him. They let him charge his phone so he could order an Uber. He came home at 330am! Extremely upset and my mother was out of her mind with worry. Maybe you should learn that a little kindness to somebody who is asking for help, who is clearly and visibly vulnerable, goes a long way!

Went for Sunday lunch, when it was served ok but was cold, taken back to the kitchen for warming up brought back to the table it wasn't any warmer. Left and won't be going back.

We had wanted to try here for something to eat for a while but just never got round to it . We called in bank holiday Saturday and was surprised to find it rather quite . A small choice of meals but all looked very nice and very well priced . I chose the liver onion , gravy and mashed potato my wife had the homemade steak pie and chips . Both were freshly prepared which we were informed by the landlady who was lovely even signing along to one of the songs playing in the background so nice to hear people happy in their job . The meals arrived piping hot and large portions . Both meals were lovely and with homemade gravy with both . 2 meals plus 2 large cokes under £20 bargain We will definitely be back for something to eat soon and although a bit quite today I got the feeling it would be a great pub and atmosphere when busy as such we will definitely be calling for a drink sometime as well .

Not great toast was cold and hard coffee cold...staff not to bad manager terrible attitude is awful ....

Cannot fault the service, the waiting staff were friendly and busy bless them. Food certainly isn't cheap- over £20 for a jacket, panini, cold drink and a coffee is quite steep- and no discount for clubcard which there shpuld be. Coffee was nice, jacket with tuna was a decent size and tasty. Panini was realy disappointing- assume it had been microwaved and not toasted as it was warm and soggy and not at all crispy. Side portion of coleslaw- around £1.50 for a spoonful!!! Apart from the service, I wouldn't recommend and probably would try elsewhere.

Ordered steak and didn't even look right, and taste was not good as well

Really nice place to get a brew and treat must admit fantastic cakes very tasty! Only downside is one till only when busy took along to be served

Treat with my daughter ruined! Terrible customer service. I wish I’d read other bad reviews about their cream products before wasting my time and money. I ordered a coffee and biscoff ice cream milk shake for my daughter. As soon as she tasted it she was forced to spit it out. I checked and the cream had gone off. I informed a woman inside who rather than apologise argued that it couldn’t be!! I asked her to taste it but she declined and said she’d replace it. I said my daughter probably wouldn’t now want another since she had the taste of sour cream in her mouth. The waiter came outside to check if we’d like another one and I declined and asked for a refund to which he replied “I’ll have to check!” 5 minutes later he brought exactly £5.60 in cash!!! No offer or to put it back on my card, or refund the coffee which I could not enjoy!!!! I find this level of customer service poor and found their attitude rude. We will not return.

In the area for a concert, went for a pint and stayed for a meal all very nice, friendly staff, clean, really enjoyed our visit will be back if in the area again.
