Dined there yesterday with my wife and daughter, outstanding service by waitress Hiba, pleasant experience .

Good food and great service from Kennedy.

Went with some family and friends around a month and I think of it fondly and frequently. It's great because it has lots of different options to suit a variety of tastes. We ordered 2 platters, extra shwarma and had some amazing vine leaves. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend it.

Good experience overall. The young lady waitress was lovely, smiling all the time and very welcoming. My main take on the restaurant is its sticky floor. It is clean but it has been like this for years.

Brilliant dine in restaurant. Went as a group of 12. Asked for the food to be ready at 6:15 and was ready on the dot. Perfect atmosphere and service. Would highly recommend this place. Food is brilliant, staff great

We went there last night to have a family dinner. I personally do go out alot with freinds sometime and sometime with family have tried most of restaurants in South wales but hand on heart this restaurant has been the best so far. the food was delicious, reasonably priced and the staff was one of the loveliest I have ever seen. so kind and helpful especially the waiting staff. The value for money is even beyond the words.there was so much food for the money we paid. Well done guys and keep it up.

Lilo Lilo Lilo, 3 hours I waited for my food... THREE. You think after a while when it comes it'll be alright at least but OH could I be wrong. I ordered 2 kebabs and a garlic bread, what I got was 2 boxes of chips with 3 of the driest, most burnt stale chicken wings that you could muster. THREE HOURS. And for the garlic bread? What could it be, I'll let you guess was it A. Garlic Bread B. A loaf of bread or C. A GOD DAMN TORTILLA. What am I supposed to do with ONE singular flavourless pack of 5 from asda for a quid tortilla. And then it's like you muster up all the salad you have, filled up EIGHT boxes of it to compensate for you not having the effort to cook a god damn doner kebab... Y'know your one job? Why the hell, would I want to eat a salad instead of a kebab? I ain't ordering a kebab if I'm a vegan am I? Jesus Christ I've had some experiences but this is up there with the worst, dodging my calls like I'm a crazy ex, soggy paper in the food, wrong food, flavourless food, more bland than a love cherish family sign, what's the point, boys girls if you are reading this I will be staring at a blank wall comprehending what on gods name I had just eaten cos it sure as hell... Was not... A doner kebab.

We ordered a selection of dishes and as someone who’s very picky I have to say the food was 10/10, it was very well seasoned! Service was great thanks to our lovely waitress who was super attentive to our table and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall it was well worth what we paid for! Portion size were great too. If you are looking for some lovely Middle Eastern food this is your spot!!

We had a dinner here and will come back again. The quality of food and fresh juice was awesome. Must try watermelon juice and orange juice and beetroot+carrot+honey juice. We ordered a platter and it was Huge!!! Service was EXCELLENT!!! Kennedy was so lovely and caring. After a long long time we had this kind of service and food and environmental!!!

Have been to LILO’s in Cardiff many times, as we were at The Royal Gwent Hospital decided to call in on a Sunday evening. We were greeted with a friendly face & told we could sit anywhere we liked. My little boy was very excited with the smoothie menu & the waitress kindly let him choose his own recipe of fruits (which he loved). The fruit smoothies are AMAZING!! We all had a different one & enjoyed tasting each others. We ordered the cold mixed mezza & a few hot mezza. Wow!! The food was delicious.The lamb starter was one of the best I’ve ever had & we regularly eat Lebanese food. The two waitresses were lovely. They & the two chefs said goodbye as we left, which was a lovely finishing touch to an enjoyable evening. Will definitely be going back.

Myself and my girlfriend decided at the last minute to revisit this restaurant that we first went to about 3 months back and where we had an absolutely fabulous meal. We were not in the least bit disappointed as we both agreed that the food was even more delicious than on our previous which we that was fantastic enough that night. The food is very obviously very freshly prepared contrary to some of the Google reviews you could read but be foolish to take much notice of and more than plentiful in it's portion sizes it's extremely good value for money and perfect for sharing for couples and groups too. The service was also very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough to mate sure we enjoyed our meal so we wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and urge people to give it a go and see and taste for themselves. We will certainly be back whenever and as often as possible.

Hibah phisically made the best milkshake ever, compliments to the chef who makes the best food and the experience has been consistent the 3 times I have been here, in such a short space of time. Highly recommend!

While on my visit to Newport I decided to try Lilos. As soon as I walked in, lovely smiling faces greeted me and showed me to my table. I ordered the daily special was only 7 pounds - there were 3 choices I decided on beef burger with chips and drink. Food arrived wow presentation was great and was a really nice burger and chips tasted home made. Not forgetting the lovely waitress Ruby, she served me with a smiles Will visit again in future and I reccomend to everyone to try! Keep up the great work👍🏼

Excellent taste as always, the chef is amazingly consistent in preparing dishes tastefully. Usually I get takeaways but for a change dined in and Ruby's service was excellent. Keep up the good work. Best wishes

I'm from out of town working away from home, I was recommended to come here and so glad I did! Kennedy was really accommodating and the food was on a whole new level. The no alcohol policy was replaced with the best homemade milkshakes so was not disappointed! Highly recommend, great authentic homemade food,! Well worth the wait as all made to order and fresh

Ordered a takeaway what turned up was not as advertised. The container it did turn up in was only half and well below par. Rang the restaurant and they refused to rectify the problem and hung the phone up. Absolutely appalled and will 100% never order from this place again.

I order take way every two weeks one time my food, today I order by food it’s not hot and chips not cooked properly and half chicken is over cooked and burn, waste my money

Took nearly 2 hours to deliver on a thursday evening, when I called to chase our food, I was told that they didnt have any drivers. The food was cold and the wrap was very disappointing.

2h30 for delivery, arrived cold, hardly any chicken, very greasy, no response and phone line constantly busy. Waste of money

The food came late due to it being delivered to the wrong address and some miscommunication but thanks to the lovely customer service of JESS our food was brought to us within 20 minutes of having a conversation with her on the phone. Legend, thank you JESS, much appreciated x

Called in for dinner this evening. The staff were so lovely and the food was absolutely amazing! The portions were really generous, the meal actually beat me and my daughter but we were able to box it up and take it home! I've included a photo of my meal as it looked beautiful and yes, it tasted as good as it looked! My daughter tried one of their juice drinks, which are actually freshly prepared, she loved it. We will definitely be returning for dinner soon. Thank you!

I can’t comment on the atmosphere here but I’ll assume it’s as good as the rest of my experience with LILO Grill House. I ordered on uber eats just on the off chance that they were still open seeing as it says online they shut at 2am. By 2:45am my food was delivered and it tasted amazing everything was beautifully cooked and presented. I’ve never ordered from here before and I can say I will definitely order again. Would recommend to anyone.

Great food and they were really helpful when the order wasn’t received from just eat

Said 50 minutes delivery time on app. I checked after an hour and status was still at “your order has been accepted.” It was only when I rang the restaurant 1h20 mins after I placed the order that they got to it. Then it arrived in ten minutes. Food was shoved at me lukewarm.

Delicious authentic middle eastern cuisine

Food arrived cold, the meat in the shwarma and the mixed chicken/lamb rice dish was tough and didn't feel fresh at all. The salads were tiny and cost £6 each. Just avoid unless eating in, really disappointed. Very expensive (£44+ for two people) and only able to eat about a third of what arrived.

Very expensive and very low quality food. Ordered lamb wrap - it was tepid soggy had hardly any filling and very little meat. Starter was rubbery and had hardly any filling. The desert I ordered was replaced with a different item without notice.

We were visiting Newport for a work event and wanted to eat some Halal food. This restaurant was absolutely fantastic. Firstly, the service was exemplary. The starters were great as was our main. The chef personally came to check in on us and also made local recommendations for dessert. Thank you Mohammed

First restaurant we tried in Wales, as we came from Birmingham. Friendly staff and high quality food (big portion). Couldn't finish platter 1 (we were two). Loved the Arabic tea which was on the house. We coming again before we leave Wales.

Quiet day for them we were the only 1z sat at a table inside. WHen we went in 1 lady was serving the entire 1 hour i was there she spent sitting on her phone or outside with her mates. Food is gone downhill had really soggy sticky rice showerima was ok. Wont be going back anytime soon. Prices have hiked up aswell.

I'm leaving this review because I don't understand why there are bad reviews here, it seems unfair to me. We've just left the restaurant. We've been here many times and it's always really good. Today we have ordered chicken shawarma, lamb doner, steak chicken burger with cheese and Okra sauce. All the portions were huge, as usual. The food, delicious, as usual and also the service was very nice, polite and friendly. For the quality you can get here it's not expensive at all. Our experience in Lilo has always been really good and it's the only restaurant we visit when we go to Newport.

Fabulous way to finish a bank holiday. Celebrating my sons birthday with his brother and cousin. The food was delicious, and generous. Highly recommend the pineapple smoothie. Service was first class from the wonderful Hibah who couldn't do enough for us. Well done Lilos, we will be back x

The food tastes authentic and of high quality, the Fattoush dish is as if you are eating it at home from the hands of a skilled chef, the meal is large and sufficient. The prices are very reasonable, the place is clean and quiet, the staff in the restaurant are professional and very nice, I was lucky to find this restaurant today.

We just started walking out of Newport centre after getting off the train and just found LILO’s. Have to say very clean, with really friendly and welcoming staff. The chunks of lamb were tender and well cooked, best kebab I’ve had. It was exceptionally reasonably priced too and I would definitely go here again. Thank you for the lovely food and thank you for also providing us with a taxi number to get back to our hotel. 😀

Did not ever receive my order even though they set it to delivered. We waited nearly 2 hours, tried calling multiple times no answer and no food was delivered and no communication to at least let us know if there was a problem. Very very disappointed

Came here with my husband and vegetarian daughter. Food was great, staff were welcoming and friendly. The reviews honestly make you want to not come here but we took a chance and I have to say I have no idea what these bad reviews are on about. I had a lovely fresh juice, we ordered a veggie burger and chips for my daughter, I had the grilled vegetables plate and my husband had the shawarma chicken plate. It was all so good and there was plenty of it, my husband had lived here for two years now and said it was the best food he thinks he’s had in wales. The attitude of this restaurant towards it's customers is disgusting. They are avasive when asked about whether their meat is Halal saying is any food in Europe really Halal. They have had meat delivery from none halal butchers. When food has been ordered it's is regularly wrong and when a replacement is asked for, am told take it up with Uber. How difficult is it to send a salmon steak instead I received Beef. I was swore at on the phone for asking a replacement to be sent and phone put down on me. This is a sign that they are not halal people. Muslim beware.
