Morrisons in Newport

My local store. My son loves the cafe. We go there for a cuppa or a quick bite. The food is really nice especially the fish and chips, like the breakfasts and the sandwich, cake and drink deal is also really good!. The store itself could possibly do with a little refurb as some of the freezers sometimes not work but I do there when I have offers on my more card or when I need to pick up a few bits

If I come in without a trolley or basket, will your staff follow me around and accuse me of shoplifting? A horrendously racist and behind the times policy from your supermarket chain. Don't worry, I've already banned myself from every branch in the country just as you've banned Mr. Daniels. Shame on you, Morrisons.

Breakfast here is expensive and poor quality ingredients, when using the touchscreen option you have the ability to take items off your choice of meal.. however there is no way of exchanging said items for other items (mushrooms are often old and overpowering) ..and there is no price reduction if you take items off your meal. You have to pay extra for a hot drink which can take the price of a basic breakfast close to £10. The staff are always nice and friendly though 👍

Nice supermarket very organised, plenty of fresh food. I love the fresh fish and seafood section. Some items are missing but it's not too bad, any luck to have Morrisons petrol station in Newport?

Shelves always empty at 9.30am, no bakery products available at 9.30am, no checkouts open at 9.30am. People shop all day, so product's should be available, always poor service

Where to I even begin? This is my absolute favourite shop of all time. Whenever I need a good top up on groceries this is my go-to. There's always fantastic offers on high quality food. I always love a good gander at the bakery section for a sweet treat, where they also have table and chairs set up for customers to take a break... No other supermarket does this and it think it's a good idea. Especially for the elderly and lazy people [me]. Perfect shop wonderful staff. Management should give themselves a pat on the back for running the best supermarket in Newport. Perhaps even in Wales. Xx

I really like the cafe the toast was good

I especially like the fresh produce I would give 10/10 for the quality of veg,meat,fish. Also the salad bar is great with a good variety of dishes.

Very disappointed with meal. Coffee luke warm when complained told to add hot water. Husbands fish and chips the chips were cold and very dried up. No hash browns with my veggie breakfast although stated to be included on menu.No staff available to lodge a further complaint.

Always great little bargains available when you know when to go and where to grab them. The team are always friendly and happy to help whatever your query is.

Morrisons have great special offers, a good Loyalty scheme, (My Morrison card) and their £1 aisle items offer fantastic value for money. A large car park offers plenty of parking for easy access.

It's ok...I've not really shopped there since a racist incident in COVID., I popped in to buy a pyrex dish but they did not have it in stock. The lady that assisted me was very nice and helpful that's the reason for the score

Fresh produce all the time available

There was no signage I noticed to inform you that you can order from your table so I missed out there having to queue for ages while the cashier fumbled and gossiped her way through the queue. I eventually ordered and paid for my ultimate breakfast and a pot of tea that just about filled the cup I was issued no additional hot water. My meal arrived at my table and I looked good apart from the fried bread was one whole slice and had not been cut and was greasy to taste as were the hash browns soggy and oily. Beans sausage and mushrooms were ok one of my fried eggs was obviously broken on the griddle and the yolk was solid. The other was perfect. The bacon well I think it came from the Dead Sea it was so salty! The tea was nice just I wish there had been extra hot water for a second cup.

Didn't like how the assistant clerk came up to me saying you have to scan new bags right now and not let me wait until the end when the machine asks you how many you have used. Just seemed like she was picking and choosing who to do this to don't think that's a job they should do. Would much prefer to just be getting on with my weekend. but heads up to others who don't won't to be accused of being a potential shoplifter

Plenty of parking spaces, clean store and shelves well stocked

Check your recipts at checkout, offers showing on the shelves but normal prices when you pay. Not once, not twice, all the time! Disgusting!

Used the cafe. Very tasty but the poached eggs were luke warm.

I placed an order for some sandwich/ wrap platters and grazing boards for a party and went into store to collect them at my allocated slot yesterday morning. Morrisons’ supplier sent one box short of wraps into store. The blonde lady on Customer Services between 10-11am on Saturday 25th May (I sadly didn’t catch her name) was amazing about it. She did everything she could to make sure I left with my full order & communicated with me constantly, whilst also servicing a very busy desk. What an asset to the company. Morrisons gave me a gorgeous bunch of flowers and a bottle of Prosecco for the inconvenience, which was a lovely touch & I went away with my full order. I’ll be shopping there frequently now - great customer service.

Went in to the store today as had to go to B & Q Right next door ,so wife decided that we would do some shopping ss right by there & I suggested lunch , hungry as ever , so shopping done and highly delighted that I could find the lemonade I have been serching for , Lowes sugar free rasberry which I simpley love , quickly loaded up 4 bottles to keep me going through the next week ,Oh such bliss being able to find my alltime lemonade which is NOT IN STOCK AT ANY OTHER LEADING SUPERMARKET . Next in to the cafe aa after up and down the ilses I was in need of my capuchino with chocolate on the top . Headed to the self service order point ordered fish and chips for my wife and then wanted the chicken for my self as seen it advertised on the way im so drooling allthrough the store So. Went to order it and found to my great dismay it was off and aa mentioned I had been drooling through out the store , one would think that a slug had just passed by -:) so I had to end up with chips,sausages and beans and my.wife had the fish and chips with peas, she really enjoyed it , unfortunatley I cant say the same about the sausage,egg and beans . The sausages were over coked ,looked like they had bean cooked in the deep fat frier with the chips , the yoke on the fried egg was hard ,again.dissapointed as I personally prefer a soft yoke on my egg . I did NOT complainas (a ) unable to find cafe staff and when.I did find some one it was late ( b) did not have the time to wait arround for the.meal to be rectified . The young lady ,Nicky , who brought our meals then ran back to the kitchen area was very obligeing and nothing to much trouble for her as she even spared the time from cleaning tables for a quick chat in my way out . Very very very pleasent.young.lady allways smileing and when serving.customers on approach greeted them with one of her huge smiles then within the 3 foot range engaged the customer verbally ,so a BIG HUGE THANK YOU TO NICKY FOR HER SMILE AND TAKEING TIME TO TALK TO A OLD GUY

Had a great lunch. Got the half roast chicken, came with chips coleslaw and salad. Great portion, really cheap, too. Chicken was so good!

Went in to try the new nachos and was made to wait way to long was told there wasn't any bacon available, asked for a different set of toppings but had bacon on when I got home, and my second box was completely wrong

Although some products are great, others are not, for example this half-used pepper in a sealed package.

Not the best range for a Morrison's but you could get most of what you want no pfs I think the price's seem to be creaping up as well

Ordered on Uber eats and made a slight change to my breakfast order, they sent the exact thing I asked for as well as a adorable drawing on the front telling me to enjoy, genuinely made my day . Best breakfast ever!

Usually I would have rated them 5 stars but we used the coffee shop after getting the shopping and the normal excellent service was marred by a very slow barista who made a coffee so bad it was undrinkable...

Leading the way at the moment with more environmentally friendly packaging! 2022, need more boots on the ground! Two occasions; Deli counter, pretty much never anyone there, hung around for a while, asked the guy on the butchery section if he could get someone, said she'll be back from her break soon, gave up and left! Checkouts, no one at all, one member of staff on the self service tills, gave up, left the trolley and walked out. April 2023, 4 tills manned, think they are getting the picture! 👍

Only go here for certain things not a big shop but This Morrisons has everything including a cafe 😁

Went to buy flowers but there wasn't a very good selection with most looking past their best. I bought a potted plant instead.

The environment is okay but things are little bit expensive

Useful to pop into get milk etc but on the whole the store is laid out in the most confusing way. E.g. I wanted an extension lead but couldn't find one in the electronic isle. The next time I went in there (after buying one elsewhere) I discovered them by the toothpaste!! Also more expensive than Asda which is a 3 min drive so usually go there

It's OK for reductions but Saturday/sunday you'll be hard pressed to find much fresh produce left. The biggest issue with this store is the lack of assistance at the self checkout, it's a frequent occurrence that the self checkouts play up with weights or card readers and you'll sometimes be waiting 5-10 minutes waiting for a member of staff to come and help you. Not a gripe at the staff atall, it's busy, I get it, but it does leave you wanting to get out ASAP when the card readers are offline like today, and one till open. Cash/card self Checkout (only 2 avalaible) are taken off by 9pm. So it leaves you no option but to pay with card.

Staff rude, always mess on the floor, boxes etc. Only reason to go there is location

I tend to stick to my local supermarket so only visit Morrisons occasionally when I need specific meat. I have always been happy with my shop in Morrisons and I joined the loyalty scheme as there were some great offers to be had. The butchers department is always great for steak and he is happy to help with cutting a thicker steak if necessary. The wine area also has some unbeatable offers on time to time. It is well worth dropping in to 'change up' the weekly shopping now and again for different meal ideas.

The toilets are the best! It's my favourite stop in the morning to drop a brown onion

It's a pleasant store to visit never overly busy, plenty of spaces in the car park, staff always helpful, all sign posted so items can be found easy

Coffee shop .only had tea Machines broken. Had to ask for milk...... store badly stocked. Cash desks only one open.... do.not recommend a visit

I went to Morrisons today looking for a fresh sponge cake for tonight for a birthday meal as was let down last minute, the lovely ladies on the cake counter came to my rescue. Thank you so do much you are life savers xx

Lovely British meat, friendly staff and if a product isn't on the shelf the staff will have a look in the warehouse to see if it's come in with the latest delivery. Their in store made bread looks, smells and tastes delicious. Parking is easy.

Stopped in here while getting the tyres on my car changed. Wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. I had a large vegetarian breakfast and wife had a large normal breakfast and a coffee each - £10 for the lot. Absolute bargain.

The breakfast was awful a piece of stringy bacon and an egg slapped on top of a spoon of beans with a burnt sausage

Went for breakfast, store very quiet but seemed like quite a few staff in cafe ordered poached eggs with avocado on muffin with coffee. Accepted order but then told us could only do fried egg which we didn’t want. Refund given but three staff to do this on the till so there were plenty of staff?? No reason given?

My husband and I have been several times while it's been half price food,we've been very pleased with the fast service and good food.

Toilet facilities dirty smelling Floors are Filthy in restaurant and husband found hair in food Told that short staffed which ok standards would slip slightly but there is a non standard you should expect and you shouldn’t have to clean your trainers when you leave!

Why say your open until 7pm if when you place an order at 6:35pm you get told that they are closing down and can’t complete any of the cooked food! Terrible and very disappointing!

A little bit slow on the till to take orders. Ordered two jackets one with prawn cocktail and one with cheese & beans. Both came with side salad. Minimal prawns added. Cheese and beans very average. Jackets themselves were average. Needed another 20 minutes in the oven really. An average lunch unfortunately.

The whole of store is the most wheel chair navigable and aid provided premises for the disabled we have found in all Newport, for example see photo [Reserved tables which wheel chair user can move right into to dine comfortably and arthritic large handled cutlery is available.] We are Newport residents. The staff in the cafe are friendly and really helpful whilest remaining professional. The breakfast must be one of the best buys too, especially the vegetarian option- although we had finished by 8.30 we could only manage a tiny lunch later.

We were late getting up after a late night and not many places offer a breakfast after 11am. Morrisons runs it until around 4pm I think. Self service is available for purchase. Breakfast is very reasonable for the content and quality. Staff were also friendly. Would recommend.

My wife and I ate here as we wanted a quick and cheap meal. Morrison’s always offer a good selection of food this outlet was clean and the staff friendly food was hot and freshly cooked

Having a cooked meal at the Corporation Rd restaurant. Greeted by the women on the till in a very abrupt manner, it was quite funny in a strange sort of way, she clearly hasn't had a great day but never mind it'll soon be home time. The food was ok no grumbles there.

After shopping decided to treat my wife to lunch, which we both thoroughly enjoyed beautifully cooked meals at very reasonable prices- please see photos, so good just had to let you know. There is plenty of room for wheelchairs both in the store (unique for supermarkets as far as we know) and cafe, which is why we go there often.

We had a voucher for my wifes birthday for a free breakfast so decided yo use it. The food wad good and fresh and plentiful

Firstly I LOVE my cooked breakfasts. Having been around other supermarkets trying out the breakfasts I decided to try a breakfast one saturday morning here after many people telling me it was the best. Either they were joking or I was the most unluckiest person to recieve what I did.

Reasonable food with a serve yourself from counter and pay at end with cooked meals on order and remarkably low prices.

Stopped in for coffee and cake. Cake stale and no plates to put it on. Coffee machine empty. Accused my friend of walking off with a cake when she had actually put it on the tray. Staff useless. Wouldn't go there again.

I have been to Morrison's regular for meal's .they are always enjoyable and cheap. I really recommend their breakfast. Their cakes are also nice .

With a function next door at the Lysaghts centre, and everyone wanting a quick bite at the published break they need to move staff to deal with them quickly. But quite good for this type of place. Good, not very good.

Stopped here to do a little bit of shopping and to get a drink and some food, enroute from Swansea to Devon. Very nice restaurant, spacious and airy, good food and service, well kept and clean.

I was shopping with my son, we were both famished. I said where could we go so he suggestedthis store. It was great, The food came very quickly and so reasonable. We had two breakfasts andmugs of tea for two. SIMPLES.

typical supermarket restaurant,food is fine edible and hot,watch out when ordering the breakfast as unless you specify you could end up with the crust for fried bread and it is rock hard
