Great experience, first night out to experience Bridgend the weekend just l gone, popped into The Railway for 2/3 hours along the way, had a tribute Meat Lwaf playing, amazing atmosphere with great music. I'll be back 👍

Very friendly staff. Had a cooked breakfast here, £3 for 1 of each item, 30p per extra, price is the cheapest I found in Bridgend so far. All food was freshly cooked perfectly.

The Railway (or whatever it has been called before) is the pub to go to for a last drink before you get a Taxi or if you get off the train from Cardiff and are on the way home . It is old fashioned , dirty , serves drink in plastic glasses , full of middle aged people who really ought to not be out and about at that time of night , bit of a cattle market and can get a bit full at times ....... in one word BRILLIANT. OK , it's not for the more refined customer but everyone is having a good time , drinking , dancing and making fools of themselves. On a cautionary note to the more energetic ..... the security are bang on point so anything untoward and you are escorted out .

The most popular pub and place to be on a night out in a Bridgend town. Dj starts at 9.30pm. Always bouncing in here. Expect to que if ur heading in there anytime after 10pm.

Noisy n haven't changed at all. Be another 15 years for me to go back.

Awful. Bouncers let in the fighty people and exclude those who are sober enough to string together what classes as an English sentence. Maybe says more about the bouncers than the bar staff who were very nice.

The bouncers who work here should be questioned on why they even hold a door license. They are disgusting vultures with an attitude problem who could cause someone a lot of harm from thier vile manner in dealing with situations. I would steer clear of this pub at all costs.

Karaoke is always a good laugh, just avoid their on tap stuff because it's made me ill 3 separate times I've been there.

I will unlikely visit this place again after appalling treatment from Doorstaff who think they are something special. I was with a friend who has a disability(Brain injury) and was treated horrendously by Doorstaff who were extremely arrogant. I will be writing formal letters of complaint to their employer and attempt to raise awareness of Equality and Discrimination. These young men seriously need to have further training. Vile.

This place is the best of a bad bunch

The Railway is geared up more as a drinking pub than a restaurant. The selection of beers is good and they are all kept well, cannot recall having a bad pint in here at all. They have a great Karaoke on a Thursday night and the place becomes a disco/club later on Friday and Saturday nights. There are two things that need vast improvement - one is the Gents Toilets, they require urgent refurbishment/improvement and two is the stairs leading up to them which can be quite scary.

I’m absolutely appalled. If I could put 0 circles I would, that’s how bad the customer service I received was. Never ever go here as you will be discriminated against if you are from anywhere other than wales. Me and my friend had just gotten out of a taxi and were deciding where to go when all of a sudden a bouncer who was small man who thought he was God’s gift demanded our ids in a horrible manner. We couldn’t understand him as we are English so we said ‘what?’ Then he simply screamed in our face to ‘f off’ we did absolutely nothing wrong and he then proceeded to tell everywhere else to not let us in then laughed in our faces as we had to get an Taxi home, we felt utterly abused and discriminated and I would love to get this man fired and laugh in his face as he would have no job hahahaha.

Very poor Rum & coke all I could taste was coke,toilets stink slipping hazard,well what to say about the DJ best not too.

My experience of this place is the overwhelming smell of toilets as soon as the door opens.put me off straight away

This is a nice centrally located pub in Bridgend. It can get quite busy in here, but even so the atmosphere is generally great, and the beer is pretty good also.

Love the rustic charm. This pub is plain and old but the food is fab but not fancy. Plain home cooking for a very reasonable price. Love this pub!

Absolute low grade nightspot, sticky floors, very little security, disgusting loos and takes forever to get served, okay if you like it rough and ready.

Reasonable price for drinks. Always busy on a weekend with a good atmosphere. There is a dance floor out the back. There is also a smoking area if that is of interest to you.

We finished our night out here and the reputation I'd heard of it was that it was a bit of a dive. However, it was quite full and everyone seemed to be having a nice time. There was decent music on the decks and a dance floor that was full of energy. There was a scuffle outside at the taxi rank at one stage but no more than that and it was a good place to finish our night out.

Called here late October, and was mortified that this hell hole is still in business. The decor was dark and dingy, and hasn't been revamped for years. The men's toilets are just dreadful, as are the stairs leading up to them. This place is maximum profit for the owners, with zero return to the customers. Just awful, awful.

Lovely pub.... fabulous food and service... definitely recommend for a meal and a pint!
