Great pub, especially the fabulous Emma T, always got a smile on her face. Although, the Wi-Fi is rubbish

This is a really awesome Spoons. I've been a few times now and it's genuinely like the heart of Maesteg for socialising. I've been there for pub quiz, dinner, lunch, drinks with friends and I've even seen people there playing Magic: The Gathering. Love it!

Food was great value for money,atmosphere was lovely.

It was really nice food, and was del9vered quickly with friendly staff.. however the portions were a little small compared to what I was expecting, but a nice place either way

Once again excellent service and value for your hard cash i have now visited 358 spoons and the The swayer,s arms is the last one visited on this cardiff trip Etc still me to visit in South and North Wales etc

Absolutely appalling place. Mess on every table!!! Only 1 serving on the bar, with the worst attitude. No smile, no please, no welcome.

Been going to maesteg wetherspoon since it opened. I have had many a fantastic time there. However, an absolutely shambles this evening. Unfortunately came across a rude new staff member who clearly had no idea how to serve a basic gin which was advertised on the menu. When asking for a cucumber to accompany the gin and some ice I felt I was asking for a ruby😂. She reluctantly got me a cucumbers which was a slither of something??? and stated courtesy of the kitchen!!! What a favour I received. I know I’m not at the ritz but please serve what is advertised on your menu . Also food cold and inedible. I feel devastated that I have to write this post but to continue to treat us this way we will lose the Wetherspoons we know and love.

Went here this morning for breakfast paid £15 for two breakfasts bacon, mushrooms, beans and eggs were cold. They didn't even have bread for toast or brown sauce. I will not be returning

Not the best Witherspoon but beer & staff excellent

I took my son for a steak and a pint. I ordered 2 gourmet steaks with all the trimmings - steak chips peas mush onion rings sauce etc but what arrived was a steak and chips on a plate and nothing else. The manageress Jo said it was my fault not theirs and said "take it or leave it" Very disappointed with her attitude and poor customer service.

Great bar, good food and atmosphere.

For me it comes down to one thing alone, value for money, because of this I have to give five out of five. Family breakfast with a load of us meeting in the Sawyers. We all had something different and extras as well. It arrive very quick and perfect with nothing missed. The food was lovely for what we paid and you just cannot go wrong. I used the facilities whist there and they were spotlessly clean.

We arrived at 8pm to find 1 staff member behind the bar with 13 customers waiting to be served. A staff member in a black and white dress turned up and spent 10 mins trying to pour drinks for table orders but couldn't reach the new bottles that were high above the bar so asked a called staff member to reach them for her. The wine and copa glasses hanging above the bar were disgustingly dirty with the staff actually putting their fingers INSIDE the glasses to get the down as they couldn't reach them .... All in all, a nice evening was spoilt by the poor service and the absolutely disgusting hygiene on the glasses!!!!

Toilets not clean ( customer fault) but no toilet roll in several cubicles. Had to ask twice before it was resolved.

Staff were miserable and wasn't very polite when I had an issue. Not to worry I won't be back.

Great morning breakfast. The coffee could be better, but that's just me being a "coffee snob".

Great pub good staff but yet again y o y do u allow kids in without adults they sit order a coke it lasts them 2 hrs when there are adults waiting for seats and will certainly depend a lot more they should be stopped from coming in by staff asap it's getting beyond now

You know what you're getting with a wetherspoons - This one is no different! The bright bar area and nicely lit patio/garden are a nice touch which makes this place a nice stop off! Often got tables and chairs left muddled / needing a wipe but never had an issue if asking for help with this.

Nice big Wetherspoons pub. Good value and really nice food. Lovely Scampi, Chips and salad, with a Lager £11.50, Excellent. Staff busy but friendly enough. Was a nice visit. Pub busy, lots a families early in the evening... Avoid early evenings if you like a more adult pub.

Gone down hill the food is terrible staff can be rude service slow just not a place we gather at anymore and we used to meet every morning or lunch but have found new place to meet up at.

It's witherspoon all smell the same all look the same I am no fan what so ever I don't mind drinking here but food is a no no.

Service was fantastic. Food was the usual Wetherspoons standard, hot and tasty but not 5 stars level.

Curry day. Food was lovely and tasty with a fair amount to eat, especially if you had a side wit it. However it could have been served much hotter. It was warm enough to eat fast, but not hot enough to enjoy it while relaxing. Good value for money with a drink.

I love a spoons. Great atmosphere, lots of seating in door and out door. Order food to the table.

Nice experience. Friendly staff. Just let down by lack of jack daniels sauce refill as not prepared to pay £1.75 when all other sauces freely available no extra cost. Bit bizarre. Was a bit freaked out by screens along bar, thought it was a macdonalds impersonation to order your own food which I oppose as I value human interaction and can stay at home, order food on screen cheaper. Anyway, turns out screens are to advertise, bit OTT in my opinion having them all along the bar, think one bigger screen elsewhere would attract more advertising. Call me old fashioned but if I'm walking up to a bar I'm looking at the human about to serve me. Thinking about my food order or what drinks I'm ordering. Any screen under/at the side is a complete waste, dust hazzard/unwarranted but I guess Weatherspoons profits must be good to pay for them all, maybe that explains the expensive JD sauce refill! 🤣

Friendly staff, pretty quiet in the day. No problems getting a table

Filthy and disappointing. Food tepid, chips tasteless. Very cheap but also well below Wetherspoons usual standards. Table top filthy and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. It was, but with a filthy cloth. We shall not be returning.

Good service and value and the team are always great. Probably one of the Wale's best Wetherspoons.

Another great Wetherspoons. Spotlessly clean, great service, huge garden area. Coffee £1.02 unlimited. A single Bells 🔔 £1.02. What would you ask for? Recommend it to everyone. Free car park behind Wilkinson.

Cold mash potatoes, tomatoes pasta and mascaponi was dry and no mascaponi cheese on the dish, food looked like it was microwaved . when complained was offered the same dish, but was put off by the first dish,so refused and i had no food or was offered a refund.The chips was overdone and cooked in old oil.staff was rude! staff need to learn better interpersonal skills dealing with customers!

This was the first time visit with a friend and had the steak meal. Excellent and great value for money. Really busy and has a seating area outside too.

Visited here on a Tuesday night as it was Steak night. Just a average meal , nothing special, probably, be back on a Thursday to try the Curry night.

I feel that the food here has gone downhill, not as good as it was when first opened. Went to change my son in the baby changing / disabled toilet, and this is the second time I've not been able to go in due to the strong scent of urine. Its absolutely revolting. Service was quick, we ordered via the app so didn't really communicate with staff. It's cheap and cheerful but don't think I will return for food as the last few times hasnt been amazing, its been okay but nothing more than that.

Customer service is very good but over the years the food had gone downhill and some of the regulars make you feel uncomfortable when you walk in.

Two times they have got the order wrong anime off the staff is really nasty by pulling faces when I was ordering

Ordered the burrito salad bowl it was totally inedible ,I couldn't eat it ,it was a health hazard in a bowl,told a member of staff and he was very offhand with us ruined the evening

An ok place to go for a quick lunch. A bit more attention to food preservation wouldn't hurt. Both meals looked like they'd just been thrown on the plate.

Reasonable prices for food and drink also can order on line so waiting is just to a minimum. Lots of seating available but a very busy pub-enjoyable and don't cost the earth

Generally not a bad place but sort your bloody chicken dishes out. A half roast chicken deliverd to me as the Siracha with gloopy lemon citrus upside down. Just in case you donkeys don't understand upside down it took me some time to realalise that there was indeed some chicken on my order.

Had food here whilst waiting for the parade. Absolutely hectic in there, took us two separate visits to eventually find a table. So easy and convenient to order from your table and the staff were great despite being under obvious pressure. Food was lovely and the value is outstanding. Will be back soon.

One of the best Wetherspoons we've ever been to. They've done this building out really nice. Absolutely fantastic food and great service. Loads of tables so even when it's busy you'll always get a seat. Staff are great here and nothing is to much trouble for them.

Lovely Spoons & food But felt very sorry for the limited staff, run off their feet, but kept their sense of humour as pub full.

Good choices of drinks and food at, by current standards, very low prices. A very busy, well run pub with big seating areas both inside and outside. Hard to fault.

Mixed grill, unable to cut the cremated meat, an egg that was solid, looked disgusting tasted worse. Same for the brunch's. This is the second Wetherspoons we have visited in Wales and the food and service is so bad I would not have shared it with my Dog. A pint of Pepsi that had a grease film over the top. In comparison to the Iron Duke in Wellington Somerset that is Excellent.

All should know, by now, what to expect from a W'spoons - It didn't disappoint. Conveniently well located with an exceptionally large, comfortable and interesting outside seating area.

I was having a nice meal with Denis and rosie(Besties) and I ordered the pasta Alfredo and I genuinely never wanted to die more. It was so sticky and gross I WANT A REFUND.

Called in today first visit here was shocked about how the dirty dishes were left on tables. Waiters delivering food to tables but leaving dirty dishes behind. Table we managed to find had glasses left on there which we moved to side. They were not collected whilst we were there . Shocking

A good, reliable Wetherspoons, with quick service and a lovely atmosphere. The waiters were all very friendly and quick at clearing away our old glasses.

Lost it's way a little following reopening after Covid lock down, but things have improved. Other than the ice cream I believe everything is "ping" food.

Love going here, but you can see the furniture deteriorating its a shame really. When the placed open it was lovely. Food is hit or miss

Ordered 2 meals very bland and dry no sauce offered. Burger and chips was on a big plate with half a plate empty which made it looked poor no salad don't think I be eating here again in a hurry eaten here before in the past never had a problem but tonight worse meals iv paid for in a long time

Had a pleasant visit to the Sawyer's Arms today. I could not fault the lunch even the eggs were perfectly cooked. It was also lovely and warm inside which makes a change as other places are too tight to put the heating on. There is also a nice beer garden and the staff are very friendly and professional.
