Popped in to the Torrent for dinner which was a great decision. Menu was varied with good choices, staff were very friendly and attentive and there was a good atmosphere in the pub. Food was excellent I had the Rump of Lamb dish which I would very much recommend, my partner had the crispy chilli beef strips which were also very good.

We chose the bench based off recommendations for good vegan ice cream. Initially we were disappointed that vanilla was the only vegan ice cream flavour that day (not usually the case, and there was also raspberry sorbet) - until we tasted it! Genuinely the best we've ever had!! 100% recommend.

We are always excited by the food this team produces and, having seen the new dishes on social media, we quickly booked on an offer and upgraded to the 10 course menu. We started the evening with a couple of the new drinks available and my rhubarb negroni was a delicious accompaniment to the scrumptious canapés. An additional treat of Old Winchester and black truffle custard with crispy chicken skin began our time in the restaurant. A new pastry chef has changed the bread offering with a novel mushroom butter, soon to be followed by an inventive scallop and celeriac dish with horseradish hollandaise. A wonderful succession of dishes continued and particular favourites were the delectable crab with watermelon, red mullet with a divine cockle sauce, saddle of Welsh lamb with brassicas and a rhubarb, ginger and white chocolate tartlet – and I’m not keen on white chocolate! I even enjoyed the warm quince tart with goats cheese and I’m not a cheese lover. I could have just listed the menu really, which I think is even better than last time and the petit fours with coffee rounded off a perfect evening, with friendly service and enthusiastic wine descriptions. If you stay overnight there's an amazing relaxed Tasting Breakfast too!

An excellent Sunday lunch. Every course was tasty! Great food, great service and ultimately very reasonably priced too! We will be recommending this place to anyone that comes past the area.

We had lunch in Asiad today and it was the first time we had ever been there.. It was recommended to us when we were looking for a place with locally sourced fresh fish.. The scallops were top quality and very tasty. An excellent fresh fish dish and its sauce was absolutely delightful.. The luxurious chocolate dessert was perfect.. We will definitely go back . Such a lovely welcoming waitress too. Thanks. .

We booked for Sunday lunch and we're more than pleasantly surprised to be served a complimentary appetiser, which was unique and beautifully tasting. We opted for the chicken and beef for main courses - they were both delicious and plentiful. We shared an apple and blackberry crumble, which again was very generous and delicious ( we could not have managed 1 each!!) The host and staff were extremely friendly and professional making the whole experience very enjoyable. Compliments to the chef. Great food, reasonably priced, good portion sizes, speedy service, friendly and well trained, attentive staff. Good Ambience. Been twice so far, not been disappointed at all. Will certainly return.

Friendly staff, the pizzas are very good. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

A wonderful cafe in the woods, bags of charm, friendly and a taste of years gone by. I would recommend to anyone, fir a visit by car, walking the Taff trail or visiting Castel Corch.
