Mango House in Monmouthshire

Awful experience yesterday evening and staff were nothing but rude. I had booked a table over a week ago for Saturday evening at 7pm for my engagement meal. This was a meal to celebrate myself and my partners engagement with my family and his family. We had travelled all the way from Gloucester which was over 50 minutes away. The staff called us to see if they could move our table from 7pm to 7:30pm, we said yes that’s fine no problem. Upon arrival we were left waiting 20 minutes, and still no table or seats. When we asked the staff how long our table we had booked was going to be, they told us they had taken walk ins and would no longer be able to accommodate us. The managers refused to ask the other customers to leave who had just sat down at our table and were starting to order their food. His excuse was “ you are regular customers here, these other customers are new” . So basically they had decided to take walk ins because the races were on and not actually accommodate the people who had booked. Clearly thought they could earn more money from the drunk race goers than their regular loyal customers! The manager was so rude towards us and started arguing with us, even though he knew what he had done was wrong. Will never go back to the mango house and will not recommend to anyone. Worst customer experience we have ever ever experienced anywhere. Engagement meal ruined for us and our families and had to leave and travel over 50 minutes back home.

My brother had a table booked weeks in advance for an engagement celebration. At first they pushed us back half hour, which was ok. We arrive at the time they pushed is back to, waited around for 15 minutes for them to say we don't have a table for you. Waiter ended up getting rude also. Would not recommend

Food was great! A little bit late.

Delicious food. But service poor. We were forgotten and served well after a table who arrived later. We'd waited almost an hour so we were justifiably hangry. Food was just plonked on the table rather than being served. Even when very busy these small details must still be done well. More training for young waiting staff needed.

Usually have no issues when ordering, as have ordered multiple times before but tonight’s order was late and some of the items came cold, they said it was out for delivery at 7.15 but it didn’t arrive until 7.45, when the drive doesn’t take that long. Waste of money tonight.

Excellent food, welcoming staff, and a comfortable vibe. Service was prompt, and every dish was packed with flavor. A great spot for any occasion!

Ordered in tonight as a birthday treat and decided on mango house. Having ordered from there before I knew I could rely on my food arriving hot and tasting amazing. Would recommend without hesitation.

We ate here on a Sunday evening at the end of our trip to Chepstow. The staff are really friendly, the restaurant is nicely decorated with plenty of space between tables so you don't feel overcrowded. The food was delicious, good portion sizes. I would recommend eating here when you're in Chepstow.

First time visit. Enjoyed the food , atmosphere and the very pleasant staff. Next time might miss a starter as we really had too much to eat! We'll definitely be going back. (One slight improvement might be to get some air movement in the restaurant. With 3 people eating sizzling platters the temp got a bit too hot)

Great food and so fresh. We could not finish it all and had to ask for a goody bag to take home. Excellent service and really friendly staff. Would definitely come back. The mango lassi was perfect 👌 too. A very nice and cozy place to eat!

Perfect Indian restaurant the staff went the extra mile and the food was outstanding best I have tasted in the area. Great location with cheap parking.

Mango house is the best Indian food you can buy!!! Very affordable and good quality food with extremely good customer service who are friendly and helpful. I struggled to choose a dish since it all sounded so good but the waiters recommended me the best of the best! King prawns for the starter was amazing the best king prawns I’ve ever had and will deffo come back. My friends also enjoyed the food as I brought them for my birthday and was a nice treat for all of us. The atmosphere was beautiful and had a nice vibe to it creating that relaxing feeling. Thank you mango house for the brilliant food and service! Will see you guys soon again!

We often dine in mango house as the food & service is always spot on but last night it was exceptional. There was a group of 26 of us, the staff were attentive, we had buffet style and the amazing food just kept coming out. 10/10, would definitely recommend this place.

BEST LOCAL INDIAN Came for the first time and will be back! Beautiful restaurant, great selection of food all clearly labelled for spice level and dietary requirements. Staff were so lovely and attentive. Food was so fresh and delicious.

We visited Mango House for the first time on Friday 28th June, we usually go to an Indian restaurant in Monmouth but because we were staying closer to Chepstow we decided to find one there. We weren't disappointed with the food, atmosphere or service. The only thing that let it down was the wait for our food, a good hour! Having said that they kindly gave us our drinks for free. It seemed like the priority was being given to take away orders as there were numerous people coming in. This, however, would not deter us from coming back. We actually live in Essex but would gladly visit on our next short break which I will look forward to.

The service was very slow and the food wasn't worth the wait or the price.

Late delivery, 2 hours after order put in. Food was awful, complete waste of money. If you can’t be bothered, just don’t accept the order. Poor quality food all around. Onion bhaji was undercooked and not crispy at all. Three different bland curries.

Really good food. One of best Indians ive eaten. Good portions and delivery was fast. Large Naan bread is huge, enough to feed 4!

Took 1hour 15mins to deliver, said it had been delivered but it hadn't.

As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with friendly and happy staff who catered to our every needs. We were looked after during our whole stay. Both starters and mains were delicious. The drinks we ordered were delightful. I had a truly amazing experience and will be returning again very soon. Would recommend this restaurant and it is definitely my number 1 restaurant for Indian food

Mango House Chepstow was a delightful experience from start to finish. And the food? Simply outstanding! Each dish was bursting with authentic Indian flavors, meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional, with our dishes served promptly. But what truly made the evening memorable was the warm and welcoming staff. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone craving a taste of India served with a side of genuine hospitality.

Visiting Mango house was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, the staff showered us with warmth and hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic Indian flavors. We'll definitely be returning for another round of great food and friendly service!!

Recently went as a night out with friends…best meal around,food,service,atmosphere…the staff couldn’t do more,freshly prepared..the restaurant is always well presented and clean,.. Best curry house in Chepstow..

We have ordered from Mango House for delivery a few times but tonight we wanted to eat in. We were greeted by absolutely lovely staff who could not do enough for us. When they learned we were having Iftaar and breaking our fast, they kindly took away our drinks we had ordered until it was time and made us fresh ones. They gave us dates to break the fast and could not be more attentive. I’ve not even mentioned the food we had. It was phenomenal. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will absolutely be back. We recommend the pokoras, the sizzling tandoori grill, the keena rice and the cheese and garlic naan. Everything was brilliant though. Thank you to all wait staff and the chef who made our evening perfect on the longest day of Ramadan so far!!❤️

A new favourite of mine. Any time I visit the area, I'll come by! Girlfriend and I ordered garlic and chilli chicken with rice, tandoori chicken biryani and a medium naan. The restaurant threw in a couple of poppadoms, too. Food was delicious and generous -lots of meat, sauce and rice and the naan was huge! Well worth the price that we paid. Service was great, too. People are friendly and service was fast. Server at the reception was kind enough to help with the menu choice as well!

Food and service from some were not as good as before. Food was dry and tough. Previously it was good and great service. This was not the same now

Everything was delicious the naans, the rice, the mains. Chicken tikka was succulent. Highly recommend! The staff were very professional and friendly. We will be back! Thank you!

I personally think this is the best Indian restaurants in chepstow. Can't fault it. Service is quick, food excellent and atmosphere great. Can get busy so book on weekends.

The Mango House is without doubt the best Indian Restaurant I’ve been too. I’ve had several meals there, all have been top class. The service is excellent. All the staff are friendly and make you feel at home. Would thoroughly recommend going.

Amazing ambiance and wonderful food! The courtesy and knowledge of the staff was just the coconut dusting on the proverbial curry! It was an absolute pleasure to dine here and we will be returning.

I pre ordered my food at 4.45 to be delivered for 7.35pm. the just eat app said that estimated delivery would be 8pm. I allowed it as it was valentines day so I knew they'd be busy but by 8.25 the food had still not been delivered even though it said delivered on the app so I rang the restaurant and asked where it was. I had a very rude reply saying it was with the courier and they hung up. Very rude and abrupt! the food eventually got here about 8.45pm but our valentines night was ruined!

Order was 30 minutes late and when it arrived it was missing items. Had to wait a further 30 minutes for missing items to come and the chips were hard and undercooked. Not impressed.

Food cold and some inedible due to not being able to reheat, chips were soggy and nan breads were cold and had sweated in the bags. Curries were ok after a reheat. Disappointed with attitude when called the restaurant. Simply told food was on its way and they were busy so would “arrive when it arrived”. No apology from the delivery guy either. I understand you’re busy, however a £65.00 order will next time go to a curry house who cares about their customers.

This is the third time I have ordered mint sauce and didn’t get the amount I paid for. Tonight I told mango house and asked for the missing ones to be added. They were but I paid for 6 popadoms and only for 3 so they cut them down to make up for putting mint sauce in 😠

Lovely family meal for dad's 80th. The restaurant staff were friendly, polite and super helpful, they looked after the birthday cake and brought it out with a candle and singing happy birthday. I really felt like nothing was too much trouble. Really delicious food also, everyone was really happy with their meals. We will be back!!

One of the best experiences ever and will definitely come again and had great service and an amazing atmosphere would 100% recommend to other people it reminded me how nice of a place the world is and brings the colour back in the world it took me back to my childhood when I was younger oh how I miss the old days and have this mango house to thanks!

we had saag chicken balti and can't fault it , it was absolutely gorgeous. Medium naan at £5.00 seems pricey but on the whole 5 stars , will definitely be ordering again

Lovely food again. Prawn Puri delicious and I had the chicken biryani, has loads of chicken pieces. Very tasty.

My family ordered a very large order for take-out, the food was ready quickly and was delicious, the customer service was excellent, the two staff who gave us the food were lovely!

Three king prawns in the whole dish. The rest was sauce. Took an hour and a half. Food wasn't terrible but I wouldn't recommend.

Great restaurant and lovely food. Would give a 5 but for the fact that my samosas were over spicy even though not marked as hot ,and the actual restaurant was very cold. It was a cold night but keeping the outer doors open didn't help and the heating was not on. Some of the diners kept their coats on so wasn't just me. However, the food is well cooked and my Aloo Gobi was best ever tasted!! Service is wonderful too.

We love the food here so much and will regularly drive over the bridge from Bristol to visit! They do a great selection of dishes and lots of stuff for vegetarians which for me is important, the staff are great and very welcoming. I would 100% recommend this restaurant and they serve the best curry for miles!

Fab food, as always. Ceylon Chicken is fantastic. Please consider bringing back the Mango/Yoghurt with poppadoms. That was epic.

Ordered in plenty of time and was told a delivery time of 7.30pm. 20 minutes passed this time, I text to see where the order was. Apology received and told they were very busy. New time of 8pm received. However, 8pm came and passed so rang Mango House and told again they were busy but order was on its way. Oder received just before 8.25pm. Please ensure that a delivery time is achievable and realistic. I feel totally let down and to be honest completely spoiled my meal, a meal which I had been looking forward to.

Hi we order at 5.30 something we order regularly and ur food is delicious also we visit ur restaurant. Unfortunately our order partly missing the kids nuggets and I paid for a chicken korma on the phone unfortunately because of the lateness of the late items our first lot of chips and nann bread our cold

Terrible service over 1 hr late would recommend using either green chilli or going to Indian empire. This will be our last order. Not arrived at time of writing over 1 hr late ????

I reckon we’ve surpassed the 200 mark over the last 15 years across takeaways and sit ins and I can still not remember a poor meal - indeed it’s the consistency that impresses and the service when you eat in - I’ve explored most dishes but maintain the chicken tastes as gods as anywhere and the biryanis with the full choice of sauces are sublime

Unfortunately we received chicken pakora and I thought I had ordered vegetable pokora as we are vegetarians. Apart from this the food was delicious thank you.

Very nice tasting food, menu has a small section for spice heads which is great, and fair play to the chef, got the right balance between mega heat and flavour! We shall be back, as the food is very very very nice! The 4* instead of 5* is based on the markup they apply to the drinks. Bit too overpriced.
