Mango House - Magor in Monmouthshire

We stopped in at Mango House by chance on our way from Bristol to Wales. What a find! The staff were incredibly welcoming and the restaurant has a great atmosphere and comfortable seating. The food was INCREDIBLE. Every bit of it was delicious with generous portions, and a fantastic variety of options for vegetarians. The best Indian I've had in a long, long time. Highly recommend!

A trip to Magor is never complete without food from the Mango house. Stuck for choice and wanting to try something different I went for the lamb jalfrezi rather than my go to rezala. The quality of food never fails to amaze me. It always tastes authentic. Not just a sauce with meat in it. Was a rare takeaway option this time. 40 minutes from order to digging in. No microwave needed. Piping hot. Stunning as always gentlemen 👍🏻

The well one is warm, the good is delicious and plentiful and the staff know their menu. We had great vegan curries and rotis. The staff are attentive and ensured our drinks were refilled. Can’t fault this place except to say, when I’m eating Indian food I’d like to hear quiet Indian music playing to get the full experience

Came here in early October for a premature birthday meal with my wife’s family. Incredibly friendly service and excellent food. We’ve tried most Indian restaurants in the Newport area and this has to be one of the best. Will definitely return.

What a joke. Booked a table for 6 including 2 elderly members of our family. We were stood waiting for the table for 15 minutes whilst a party of 11 barged in front of us and were seated immediately. No communication from the staff and in the end we gave up and wemt elsewhere. Avoid.

First time visit with friends. Expectations were high after seeing reviews. The great food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and great service made for a super evening for us all.

Truly wonderful first visit BUT this visit was very different. Staff were not so friendly and it was horrible as they were cleaning tables with Mr muscle right next to us. The smell was very strong.

Oh my, what an experience!😍 Inside is so beautiful and classy, so modern, just unbelievably amazing and the atmosphere is amazing, the gentleman working in there tonight were just hands down amazing from customer service to interacting with our daughter and making her giggle and laugh, normally when we go out for food she’s not like that at all! When ordering it was easy and chilled, and once the food came out, well I died and went to heaven, it was unbelievably stunning, piping hot, super fresh and vibrant, definitely a place to go to, wether it’s a first date or a spur of the moment cheeky walk in for food, it’s just gorgeous, the best Indian cuisine we’ve had in such a long time! We’ll definitely be back, my daughter will be excited for her ‘special’ juice again soon, she loved it! Don’t second guess yourself on coming here, it’s worth every penny when you get your moneys worth! 5⭐️ without a doubt!😍

Being from the village, we used to eat here regularly since it opened and always had excellent food and service. Moved away over 10 years ago and have struggled to find a comparable takeaway! Back in the area for a family wedding and decided to try again to see if as good as remembered. Well, yes, it was! Food was delicious, and service was good, it was great to catch up with Jay and all the staff. Would most definitely recommend eating here. Thank you!

Mango house is a lovely place to eat. The service is amazing and the staff take great care of you and accommodate for anything you need. The food is simply delicious! Cooked so well and prepared so fast and presented well. Provide takeaway service aswell which I’m sure is as good! Overall a lovely evening there.

The Hussain family have created an absolute gem of a restaurant over in Magor. The food is always incredible, the customer service is fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. Excellent range of food and drink, Food recommendations can be sought from the very knowledgeable and friendly staff if you are unsure what you would like. A warm welcome every time and always go the extra mile for birthdays, anniversary or special occasion. I live 20 miles away and will travel to the mango house every time I fancy an Indian meal. Turned up unexpected with a party of 7 and they found room for us. The food was literally amazing. All 7 of us said it was some of the best Indian food we've had. And we were sober! 😏

Food was warm and chips looked as if they had been reheated, certainly not fresh chips. By the time I was half way through my meal the food was cold. Wasn’t just my food it was most of my parties meals. None of us were overly impressed. A very disappointing meal.

We had a delicious meal and the service was outstanding. We couldn’t finish our meals as there was too much to eat, so they kindly gave it us in takeaway boxes to take home. Nothing was too much trouble.

One of my favourite Indian restaurants, very much due to Shez, who always takes the time to talk to you genuinely about the menu and Indian food in general. Excellent service and amazing food. The chick pea tamarind dip is worth it alone. But, don’t sit by the kitchen door if you can help it- they’re just that busy!

We have just had dinner here! What can I say? The best Indian food I’ve ever had the privilege of eating! Went with friends (Len and Mac) they’ve been banging on about this place so insisted we eat here during our stay. Would highly recommend this restaurant. I have used Ahadnan and his team for many years now, and I cannot praise them enough. Not only does Ahadnan attend our offices the day before an event to set up all of the catering baths, he then cooks all curries fresh on the morning of the event and then travels from Magor to Cardiff with a huge selection of starters and curries. He catered for a party of 18, however his portions are such that the majority of guests came back up for 2nds. Ahadnan and all at Mango House are superstars!!

Ordered a meal online, took over 1.5hrs to arrive. The meal was cold and the blandest think I ever had, maybe because of the temp. This was the second time this has happened so more fool me probably, but it is the last.

Ok curry but there are better and it was quite expensive. Service was attentive but we had decided not to have starters or poppadums - they literally put the poppadums on the table without us asking. I guess we should have said no we don’t want them but we didn’t. Disappointing to see they’d charged us £7.30 for them!!

I didn’t feel like eating in with how hot it was so thought I would get a takeaway. The food was freshly cooked and absolutely superb. Thank you

Visited this place last night as a group of 7 lads playing golf at Celtic Manor. From the moment we sat down the hosts were fantastic and very friendly . Brought popadoms out ( never seen so many ) and we did our best to eat the lot On to starters , not one complaint , if fact the exact opposite . Chilly garlic prawns the chick chat and the chick pakora were amazing . By now stuffed but main course too come which again completely wowed all 7 of us 👍🏻 Incredible tasty food , fab staff and most definitely a place not to be missed if your up that way at Celtic Manor . Shame our golfing performance didn’t match up to last nights chefs performance 😂😂 Defo going back one day 👍🏻

A great curry house in the middle of a beautiful little village. We didn't go mad, just poppadoms and all the chutneys, then curry and naan. Huge portions, very flavoursome, lots of chicken in the dish, freshly cooked to order. Great staff, friendly and helpful.

We were staying in the area for a convention and this lovely restaurant was a 4 minute drive from our hotel. We were greeted warmly like old friends even though we've never been here before. The food was delicious and the portion sizes generous, I warn you the small naan breads are huge! The atmosphere is delightful, the staff friendly and respectful, the price reasonable and the restaurant spotless. If you're in the area don't miss this treat!

If you want a restaurant with friendly and attentive staff, and even better food, go to the Mango House. Food absolutely delicious, always piping hot and cooked to perfection! My favourite dish is the mild chicken coconut and almond, with coconut rice. A lovely restaurant just half a mile from where myself and my hubby live.

I recently relocated to Magor, but having lived in Bristol and Wiltshire for 29 years, I have never encountered an Indian restaurant as exceptional as this one. The food is absolutely amazing, and the service is top-notch. Honestly, rating it 5/5 doesn't do justice to this place. It deserves a rating of 100/5. Thank you so much, I will definitely be returning.

Booked a table for 5 on a Monday night for my friend's birthday. We walked into a busy, vibrant atmosphere. We were promptly taken to our table with popodams and chutneys awaiting. After we settled down in our seats, the kind waiter took our drinks order, which arrived shortly after whilst were tucking into our popodams. Our food order was taken and everything arrived on perfect time. Popodams, starters, and main came in perfect intervals, like clockwork. Outstanding service and the food was, I have to say one of the best curries I've ever had, hence the review as I don't really do reviews. But don't take my word for it, go and try it yourself.

Eaten here a few times. Always busy but decent service. Food is excellent with great choice but very pricey and after our last visit over the weekend I actually wonder if they're making up the prices as they go along! We'll no doubt eat there again but be more careful checking the bill and keeping the price down by drinking tap water rather than the over priced alcoholic drinks.

I have visited this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed - Jang and his team put customer service & satisfaction at the top of their priority. We have always had incredible food often from the recommendation of Jang who has even customised curries for me and my taste which have been fantastic. It is a lovely friendly restaurant and they cannot do enough for you - I would definitely recommend you try them out - great menu loads of variety super fresh & tasty - can’t wait to come back soon!

Visited the mango house in magor for the first time tonight. The food was absolutely amazing! Every single thing we ordered was delicious ! The best keema naan ever!. We had our 11 year old fussy eater with us who was very happy with his chicken nuggets and chips! Food aside the service was outstanding! Made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived! Staff here are so lovely. Thank you we couldn’t have asked for anymore!

Found this place searching around on Google maps. What a find, really friendly welcome as soon as we walked in the door and food was stunning! Make sure you have a naan bread! Best I've had. Shout out to Shez and the rest of the team who served us!

Food was gorgeous (recommend the prawn puri starter! Amazing) . The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere, only slight problem on the night was our table as close to the main door so kept going cold air on us every time it opened but didn't spoil the evening.

Stumbled across this place, what a find! Great menu. The largest naan breads I've ever seen, made for sharing of course. All the dishes we had were very tasty. Highly recommend.

Since moving to the area in 2013 the food that I have had both in the restaurant itself and as a take-away meal have been excellent. The staff are all good and friendly and do their best to make you feel comfortable. I heartily recommend.

We came here to celebrate a new job. The food was fantastic, service was great and we really enjoyed it. We were very optimistic with our ordering - they have big portions and we definitely had eyes bigger than our stomachs. We were guided to small naans rather than medium ones (we are grateful for this) and they were more than enough! We had pokora and paneer to start (you can see where we got a little bit overzealous on our ordering! It was worth it though) which we shared between us. Generous portions and really good flavours. We had the Mango House Biryani and a Butter Supreme for mains which were both delicious. Butter chicken is one of my favourites and this one was spot on. We'll happily visit again to sit in or have a takeaway. Thank you!
