We chose to visit this pub after reading several good reviews, and we weren’t disappointed, in fact, it was better than we could have expected. The staff were beyond helpful and kind. They were attentive, provided games and tried really hard to ensure our 4 year old had a great time. We had the Sunday dinners and sea bass, it was delicious, even for a very hard to please husband! We will definitely be back on our next holiday! Thank you!

We have been going to llanbedrog for near on forty years and the ship has always been associated with our trips to llanbedrog and abersoch. Even though the pub has changed ownership many times it still offers a warm welcome. The food on offer is extremely good quality and value for money. It can get very very busy in peak season, but we would recommend a visit.

I always have to visit here when coming to Llanbedrog, purely because the food is excellent! I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal (visited about 5 times now). Last night I had the Mac and Cheese Bon Bon’s for starter which were just delightful, followed by the Minted Lamb Burger for my main after recommendation, I don’t normally go for burgers in a restaurant but I am so glad I did, so tasty! you cannot beat their real chips too!. Already looking forward to my next visit, Reggie (the dog) and I are always made to feel welcome.

Menu at first looks really good, I ordered classis burger with extra bacn and was shocked when my meal arrived with full of fat breakfast light cooked bacon with chewy burger, burned lettuce and burned but cold bun...when pointed to the waitress she took it away...but no question asked...I was not sure if left with no dinner or comming back one...aftet 10min same dish arrived with same bacon cooked slithly more but with cold and chewy bureger and rest of the dinner. When asked main waiter to take my plate after another 10min waiting- (gentleman with white bird), - I had very cold responce and feeling of unwelcome...my partner finished his dinner he liked and was left hungry with unwelcome feeling.....

Having no luck in Pwllheli finding somewhere to eat we drove out towards Abersoch and followed a brown sign simply saying 'ship inn🍴'. We eventually came to it and parked up. The young girl that waited on us was lovely. The food was also lovely considering they had a limited menu due to having no chef. Well done all. I would recommend this friendly, welcoming pub to all in the area.

We were staying at The Willows, just up the road, so called in for lunch. Nice dog friendly pub, with large dining area and tables outside. We would have sat outside as had two dogs with us and one can be disruptive when food is served, however on the day we visited food was only being served indoors, so we left the noisy boy in the car. Excellent food. I had the sea bass and my husband had the minted lamb burger, both from the specials menu, and we both succumbed to dessert. Recommended! You would need to book if visiting in the evening.

Unfortunately did we visit the Ship Inn not until the evening before we left the Pwllheli area to head back to Germany. The innkeeper and the staff made us immediately feel welcome, and they were really friendly and answered all our questions patiently. The menu is comparably extensive with a variety of really great dishes. For the first time in two weeks (!), all of us - even the children - were really happy with their choice of starters and the main courses. Our compliments to the chef! If it weren''t for a 16 hour trip, we would definitely come back again. Thank you! UPDATE: After three weeks in Wales, my family voted (almost unanimously) the Ship Inn to have served the best food of all pubs we visited during our stay. Sounds great, doesn't it?

Then as you walk through the front door you are greeted with a selection of board games and quizzes to choose from! There is a great selection of drinks available and the food was fantastic (quite possibly the best pizza I've ever had!), all at reasonable prices! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Following an extended and damp walk, we visited the establishment with the intention of partaking in tea, only to discover that they were fully booked, which is understandable. Given the location and time of year, I should have anticipated this outcome. However, our bedraggled appearance, akin to that of "drowned rats," elicited sympathy, and a table was graciously made available to us. The subsequent food and service were exceptional. We savored the minted lamb burger, which undoubtedly ranks as the finest lamb burger I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. I express my sincere gratitude for the hospitality extended to us, which was greatly appreciated. In the future, we shall ensure to make advance reservations to avoid any inconvenience.

Incredible food. Service can be a bit slow but I think this is because the kitchen is small and they want to avoid it being overwhelmed. Book in advance- there are only a few tables inside and they get booked up. It seems like a nice quiet pub in Llanbedrog just on the edge of the countryside as you are coming out of the village. They had a good selection of ales and beers. Unfortunately they weren't doing food whilst I was there, so will have to come back to try it out. They have a large well equipped beer garden that's a bit of a suntrap and a nice place to spend an afternoon with a nice view of the countryside. Came back to try the food out. Ordered the Chicken burger and sausage chips and peas. We had to wait a while, but the manager explained the staff problems they were having and I must admit he had excellent customer service skills so didn't mind the wait. The food was really good and we enjoyed it.

Firstly, because nobody reads whole reviews, make sure you call in or contact for a reservation as a lot of the tables were booked (along with ours) when we went which shows you how popular this place is despite being a good few miles from anywhere. Came here with my in-laws, wife and two children for an evening meal. Firstly when coming to take our order the owner (I think) went to get some more toys for our 1 year old, then when we tried to order a kids meal for him he told us he would sort him a pasta dish as the children's meals are huge (an ongoing issue for parents I'm sure they'll agree!). Our daughter loved the colouring and even "beat me" in a round of dominos. Between courses she loved mastering the mini playground and was an expert before we left! All the food we ordered was excellent, our daughter loved her Sausage, Chips and Beans and the ice cream. For myself I ordered the Katsu Curry, and something I wouldn't normally do with Katsu, mix of Chips and Rice. The curry itself was excellent and the fried chicken was better than anything I've ever managed myself with breast! Would definitely recommend it. For dessert I got the Waffle with Ice Cream. Normally I'm not a dessert person, but the toffee sauce made this for me. It all just worked. On the cask beer side you have 3 Carlsberg Marston cask from their range, the one I had was kept well. Very glad we booked and would definitely come again, very attentive host thinking about our youngest when many places would have just let us pay over the odds for a full children's meal.

Sorry but we weren't impressed. Just wanted a quiet early evening drink but the whole pub is set up for eating (except a small area in front of the bar) . Weren't allowed to sit at the bar for health and safety reasons (blocking the route from the kitchen) so back bar was the only alternative (but no drinks served from there). If we had been a darts team that would have been fine but no effort to set up this area for a comfortable 30 mins drink. Beer was ok though! Thanks for your detailed response to our feedback. Maybe some attention to the back bar will make it a more welcoming and decent overflow space for socialising. We wish you well with your new venture.

We (2 adults and 3 children) came here without booking, hoping they would have space, and how luck we were that they did! We were asked to choose our own table, and each was labelled with the time for which it had been booked, so we chose one that was free for a few hours. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but we managed to choose and played some of the card/board games provided while we waited. When the food arrived we were not disappointed; it exceeded expectations! The children's menu options were great, and our "tween" who is on the cusp of managing adult portions was not hungry after finishing, but equally none of us were uncomfortably full. The portions were just right. Pudding was likewise delicious and the staff members were apologetic when one of our choices was unavailable. We all agreed that it was a very happy chance that led is to this pub, and we will certainly try to return and will recommend it to anyone who will listen!

Don't tend to give bad reviews as I always check the feedback from previous guests so to our surprise the food was shocking although the hosts were very nice. Starting with the mussels with the white wine sauce from the "specials" menu, tiny (frozen and second grade?)mussels, and the watery sauce had zero flavour. Garlic bread, stale as anything. Vegetable curry served with boiled veg and some weird looking "curry" sauce on top. "Naan" bread was stale and had a really bad life from the factory that it came from. The steak was unseasoned and not very well grilled, served with soggy chips. Kids fish and chips saturated in smelly and overused frying oil, and the worst of all... Steak and ale pie served like in a pool of some sort of red liquid (soup like) with a lid of shop bought puff pastry... End damage with a couple of drinks 90 quid... Sorry guys you need to try harder especially from strong competition from around this beautiful area of Wales 👍🏽 BTW our dishes didn't look anything like the pics from other guests so I was checking and checking again to make sure I don't give a bad review to the wrong place 😳 Just to confirm that me and my family were there, please check your records and match them with the aforementioned menu items - Saturday 30th March

Tucked in a nice little nook in Llanbedrog, the Ship Inn is a lovely unassuming little pub with very good food and nice service. They are dog friendly and wheelchair accessible. The atmosphere is cosy with a charming nautical theme. We were allowed to sit anywhere as there was no specific dog zone. The hour or so that we were there, we had a great time. I had a lovely portion of fish and chips with a generous serving of tartare sauce. My wife had an incredible pizza. As we were visiting the area on hols, we popped in here for lunch after a long walk as its also dog friendly. There was a limited menu as the chef doesn't work on Mon & Tues. We both had the nachos, which were lovely. The owner is very friendly & told us about all the days they do specials, if we were to return. They had blankets & treats for dogs & the garden area looked fab with lots of tables & under cover areas. There was also an outside bar & BBQ which I guess they use in the summer months.

Disappointing ! Didn't get to eat. Stood waiting to get a table for 5miniutes while numerous staff walked past a number of times and didn't even acknowledge we were waiting. We felt totally invisible. Even if they were busy it wouldn't have cost them anything to acknowledged us, not even a smile or a nod. We left!!!

Good service. Honestly the food was overpriced and overwhelmingly below average. ordered the pork belly and only half of it came and was incredibly chew . No staff about to tell them about it . Drink are good though only good thing about my meal . EDIT: After returning about 6 months later everything was so much better honestly seemed like a different restaurant. The food was really nice this time I had the fajitas under the recommendation of someone else guess the last time I visited we must have just come at a bad time.

The food is made by the staff/owner and it shows in quality. Everything I have tried has been very tasty. Now I go there 2 times a week to buy their delicious bread and usually end up having a cake as well. The owners work very hard and they deserve to be thanked. Hope they are going to be very successful in the years ahead. I would particularly recommend the seeded loaf.

Lovely little restaurant with a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Welsh tapas - sounds odd but it works :-) An interesting mix of typical Spanish style tapas dishes (cod baked with a tomato and olive sauce) and some with a Welsh twist (cockles and laver bread). The young lady who served us was really helpful and friendly. Thank you for being patient and supportive with my husband’s learner level Welsh!
