We went here for a cup of tea as it is dog friendly. That was a big plus. However you can only seem to order via the screen opposite the counter and this was not easy with lots of people milling around. We found seats towards the back and the lighting was poor which was probably just as well as it felt slightly grubby. My husband wanted to use the toilet and said it was filthy and certainly the queue of people waiting to use the one toilet would not have allowed a clean. Overall not somewhere I would return to as a parent of a student.

We came in here after a lovely day at the beach. We were curious how it would compare to Fridays in America. In short, weâve never walked out of a Fridays in America before. When being seated we asked for a window booth and were told they were only for parties of 4 . We were given a wobbly table instead, though there was a party of two at a window booth then and another seated in one a few minutes later. We waited 10 minutes at our wobbly table without being visited by a server. While waiting we were agonized by a screaming toddler (not the restaurantâs fault). Given that we hadnât ordered anything yet, not even a glass of water, we left and we wonât be back.

Great student study place. Plenty of space and wifi with decent food and drink, all you could ever need as a student really.

This place no longer serves food which is a let down. It was empty as a result other than 2, 30something's still drunk shouting sectarian bile whilst being pandered to by the barmaid who was either on her phone of outside smoking! This used to be a great pub but seems it's just a place for yobs getting out their face now!

We have been here many times for lunch but never for breakfast. The Mexican Eggs were absolutely out of this world. Can't wait to go again next week for the same. Had the eggs been runnier it would have been perfect. Friendly efficient service.

Visited this pub more than once this week. Nice friendly landlady and staff. Cheap bar prices. Very small bar but there are seats outside at the front, which is a bit of a suntrap, or in the large beer garden at the back. Locals chatty and helpful. Thankfully dogs not allowed in the bar as a couple of dogs in the very small bar space would be accident waiting to happen. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

I was here with my friends. I have to say I am a regular and I think some of the moaning reviews I am reading here are a lot of nonsense. Sometimes I think reviews can be written by competitors. We always find this coffee shop busy. Its spotless clean.A good variety of food available. Staff are very friendly & service is good. They also operate a loyalty card service where a little card is stamped at each purchase and after card is full (6 stamps) you get a free meal on the meal card.Likewise the hot drink card. If in Paisley then this is THE cafe to visit in my opinion.

I usually get takeaway cakes or pastries and bread, but it was nice to take the kids and sit in. We all love the food there. The brownies are the best you'll find anywhere. The cruffins are delicious. I recommend the porridge loaf. And the cappacinos. My kids love the croissants, sausage rolls, doughnuts and cardomom buns.

Quite disappointing for me and my friend with additional support need today. I asked for a normal mug as we usually do in Costa as it's easier and safer for my friend to enjoy her coffee. The young guy was very welcoming and pleasant said that the dishwasher was broken and they only had takeaway cups available, he did however ask another staff member who was doing something at the back wall. I heard the other staff member say quite blatantly "no, because if we do it for one then everyone else will expect it" We had a valid reason to request a mug yet this woman couldn't have cared less. So thank you CostaTillicoultry for not being willing to accommodate someone with additional support needs to enjoy coffee & lunch. Not a very inclusive attitude, hence we won't be back :(

Been to the old north inn a few times, both the pub and restaurant, And it seems it only runs properly if a waiter called Paul is working. I will not be returning unless it is a Friday or Saturday night as that seems to be when he is working there otherwise it is extremely slow service. Went in with my partner and we decided to sit in the pub area where One other couple were seated, it took them 20 minutes to even bring us a food menu after asking for it three times. The woman serving us was obviously new but she didn't make any attempt to come over and take our order for another 20 minutes or so.When they finally took our order it was another half an hour before our food came out. My partner ordered balmoral chicken but received a piece of chicken with black pudding on top. Either they got it wrong, have no clue that it is mean to be served with haggis, or theyâd run out of haggis. Either way, I donât think itâs acceptable. It was a hassle even getting a drinks order as no one was tending the bar or in the pub area for very long. All attention seemed to be given to the restaurant area. Cannot say how the service was in the restaurant area but Perhaps if they werenât going to provide adequate service in the pub Or have the staff to properly tend the bar, they shouldnât have had it open. Would not recommend, new management donât seem to know how to run a pub or restaurant and have completely ruined the decor inside with terrible painting skills and by ripping out all the old features in the dining area. Such a shame.

So glad we didnât read some of these reviews before we went or might not have bothered. After a google search of places to eat ânear meâ the Speckled Hen came up. We loved it. Nice area, lovely views. Big open airy restaurant. Nothing fancy but clean and homely feel. Lovely selection of homemade sandwiches, cakes etc. My other half had bacon and egg roll which was delivered in a large roll with plenty filling while I had soup n sandwich. Salad and coleslaw with sandwich which was fresh and tasty. Delicious! The waitress also did the cooking so realised it may take longer to arrive than other places but was well worth the wait. Very relaxed and enjoyable. Service was lovely and other half saying he will be back with work colleagues!

Called here for the rugby match midday. Seating area was untidy and very cramped. You had to get a code for the toilet which frustrated other customers. Wont be going here again.
