My friend and I visited last Saturday. While sitting at a table I dropped money without realising. I returned today to enquire if any notes had been found, the staff asked where I had been sitting and roughly how much had been lost, they returned the amount I had lost. They would not accept my gratuity I offered, as they were not allowed to do so. You should be very proud of their dedication to duty and their impeccable integrity. Please convey my thanks and admiration to them all.

She completely blasted the life out of my milk. Completely overheated it and tasted burnt. If the service already hadn’t been so slow, and I wasn’t in a hurry, I would have asked for it to be made again. Please give your staff proper barista training. The carrot cake was good though.

I have just had lunch with my husband and two sons and I cannot rave enough about the customer service I have just received from Vicky. We were greeted with a beautiful smile and a warm welcome. This lady could not do enough to help with the requests for my sons meals. We will most definitely be returning. Its lovely to see that some people still value and understand the true meaning of customer service. Thank you Vicky x

Only had time for a quick coffee between buses, but the service was very slow, and left us short of time. The coffee was good, just unable to relax and enjoy it.

We have been here a few times ,and are never dissapointed...Pleasant staff and prices are reasonable..Key for toilets is at the counter..Toilets were clean and fresh..Pleasant seating, comfortable chairs..Plenty of seating with only a couple of steps separating the 2 levels..2 doors to get in/out at both levels.

This is a great place for a coffee and chat. If you're lucky you can get one of the comfortable sofas. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff helpful. The food is basic and baking unpredictable. It can be delicious or a bit stale.

Nice quiet atmosphere with background music for doing some work (which I was, although there were numerous other's in with a friend). I had lasagne with garlic bread at £4.50 which was pretty tasty and filling. The staff are very friendly too!

tries to look nice but the furniture is just cheap-looking and worn, likely from a charity shop. £3.60 for a tiny hot chocolate with a drop of cream that tastes like shaving foam and a couple of mouldy marshmallows. would not recommend. staff were very rude and seemed impatient with the waiting customers.

We were searching Kilmarnock for somewhere to have a light bite to eat in between theatre shows and really didn't want 'fast food'. We found Coffee Trader and they couldn't have been more helpful. The two ladies (Nicki and Leona I believe they were called) were very friendly and exceptionally accommodating as my friend has numerous food intolerances. Friendly service, a bite to eat and a cup of tea was just what we were looking for and we certainly got it. We will be back next time we visit Kilmarnock.

What can i say when the selves were empty and the only thing on offer was a few cakes and normal coffee and tea. Not sure if this was normal however we wanted more that on offer however we settled for tea and coffee then left as the cakes seemed to contain more that we wanted in the way of sugar. The member of staff who served us seemed to only be there because she had to as she seemed more interested in chatting with her friends who had popped into see her

I have visited the Coffee Trader on MANY occassions and really enjoy their food the one person that you ALWAYS find with a smile is Isobel. Nothing is too much trouble for her and always accommodates my needs. If only more of the staff were like her it would make my visit more pleasant. There are times i feel that other members of staff can be most unwelcoming. For future i hope Isobel is on to serve me with a cheery smile 😁

Returned today following my terrible experience in June . Delighted to see big improvements , cheery , polite staff who seem happy at their work . Lunch was brought to the table quickly, nicely presented and very enjoyable . Cafe was warm , comfortable and clean . Management have done a great job taking the criticism on board , what a difference .

My gran & I have often visited this establishment however we will NOT be back. Visited around 1/45 on Friday10th Nov. We sat at the closest table convienient for my gran & her wheelchair, it was covered in dirty dishes, as were other tables in the same area as ourselves. I simply piled the dishes on the table to all us to sit and viewed the menu. A woman sat at the next table who looked unsettled, she said good luck, ive been waiting 20-30 mins for my food. With the cafe not looking busy at all we proceeded to order and take our chances ... Perhaps we shouldnt have. Having viewed the menu my gran noticed the bacon bap was only available in the Morning as breakfast but noticed bacon was available in the toastie & sandwich section, in ordering we asked for a cheese & onion toastie g a bacon but without cheese. We were rudely told that bacon was not an option as its a breakfast item, despite being in the lunch lite bites section on several dishes. We also ordered two large coffees. These were lukewarm, we had finnished our drinks before food even arrived. Eventually the woman next to us having a complained a second time received her toastie however had to ask for a bag as she'd waited too long. 20 mins later we received our meals. The toasties were plonked on the table by a waitress who clearly forgot to smile or manners as she left the pile of dirty dishes on our table. No apologies from the staff and convieniently no details to make a formal complaint, we could call and speak eith the manager, would be helpful if they ecer answered their phones. Absolutely appauling and I wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Something has changed. Called in for lunch and we had soup and a panini. Soup was watered down and the panini filling was so thin you could hardly notice there was any filling there. Very expensive for what you pay for. Not worth a visit.

This place has gone so far down hill, appauling food and presentation was a joke, the toastie was so thin and the baked potato was slapped on a piece of paper which sat on a wooden(unhygienic) board. Won't be back!

the coffee trader has changed its signadge since my last visit six years ago. moved away to another area but revisited on 20th feb 2016. nothing has changed, apart from the signs. inside just the same, nothing out of this world. coffee just the same, better than costa but not a patch on starbucks. good choice, decent atmosphere, as with all coffee shops over the top prices but no more than anywhere else. nice for a change and good to see it is still going.

The manager Kathryn takes care of her customers as does her staff. I have been visiting this place for coffee on a regular basis. Cannot fault the coffee or service. In fact the team have been known to go over and above to make sure the customers are looked after.

Been in here three times now as it is the first sort of eating place as you get off the bus at the station. I haven`t had a bad experience. The service is snail pace slow but we have always had piping hot food and the staff have always been polite though not talkative as such.Value for money as in a roll and bacon ( plenty of it too and cooked the way we asked it to be ), fish n chips n mushy peas, a pot of tea and a bottle of irn bru for £ 7.95! No bad eh?It is very busy at lunch times and sort of chaotic but not unpleasant.Staff calling customers by their first names so obviously many regulars go here. I don`t drink coffee and canny comment on that but overall most definitely not the worse place I have been. It is what it is.Am not sure if recommending it is what springs to mind but wouldn`t steer clear of it either? As long as you know that it is a bustling wee cafe, with a lot of chit chat going on then you will be fine. I like it coz it is fine for all the reasons above.

Dropped in for a coffee and a cake. The cafe is spacious, has a variety of seating and a door leading into the amusements! The variety of cakes and biscuits was a little on the sparse side and although cooked food is served it is also a little limited. The staff were polite but seemed to be set on 'automatic' rather than genuinely cheerful and welcoming.A good place to drop in to recover from a shopping expedition and they have the 'get a free coffee after buying a set number' promotion. Plenty of car parks nearby, a bus station and the railway station is only a short walk away.

Service was terrible as I was served by the dreariest, crabbit-faced woman alive.I had ordered a tuna panini and was told it would take 10 minutes to make and was to sit down and it would be brought over to me.When it was brought over it was dropped in front of me and the woman walked off without asking if I would like anything with it or even cutlery. Only plus side was that the food was tasty and at a reasonable price.

The Coffee Trader is situated in Kilmarnock town centre. We dine there most Saturdays when we venture up town to do our shopping. It is a handy location and the staff are so friendly. They serve a wide range of foods though our favourite is cheese and ham Panini with either crisps and dip or a healthy side salad, washed down in our case with a nice cup of tea or coffee. Would recommend The Coffee Trader to all who wish a wee bite when up in the town :)
