Wandered to this cafe whilst at a nearby hotel with my wife and father in law. Upon entering the cafe through the gift shop, my wife walked into the cafe only to literally be shouted at by the waitress/proprietress(?) “HAVE YAE BOOKED!” The place was half empty so my wife looked around and politely asked “do we need to?” At this point I would have just walked out. However, not to cause a scene and to give my father in law an opportunity to have a snack and a coffee before he headed back to the west of Scotland we stayed and were shown to a table. The menu looked ok but quite expensive, and given the ‘welcome’ (or lack thereof) we received I ordered an espresso (even though I was hungry I refuse to give money to places with poor service); my wife a Diet Coke; and my father in law a filter coffee and a scone. Afterwards, I went to the nearby Sainsbury’s for a couple of sandwiches. What a terrible way to run an establishment, and a perfect example of how to alienate customers immediately. Customer service?!?! Shocking! Hint: do not shout at potential customers as they enter! WOW!

Rude, miserable woman served me who when i asked for extra syrup in the coffee said 'you are already getting one and a half squirts!' oooh lucky me.. tip when the customer asks for something you say not a problem and do it. You dont tell them how they like their coffee.. also smile and be polite. Service was disgusting if i hadnt already paid i'd have walked out, i feel sorry for the young girls who work here with what must of been the manager

I love cloudberry. The whole atmosphere is so pleasing and the products are always delightful. It’s one of those shops that you could always find a present for someone in, no matter who. The food is delicious and the staff are kind and helpful. I love ordering a hot chocolate and a sweet treat or toastie, the food never disappoints.

Took our order, drinks and food then REFUSED to serve another two hot drinks as they were closing in ten minutes which wasn’t made clear when we arrived. Went to Caffé Nero nearby

Visited the Barnton branch for a cuppa. Nice fruit scone and excellent chocolate brownie. There was three choice of scones - cheese, fruit & special. Today's special was maple & pecan which could be interesting. The shop is very good for unique gifts as there was lots on offer. I particularly liked the range of gift cards on offer.

I visited a week ago and was very disappointed. After waiting for a while and people around me being served I had to ask someone to come and take my order although it was meant to be table service and a gentleman who had come in after me had been served. It felt as if I was inconveniencing them. I asked for a scone which when it arrived was dense and undercooked. If this Cafe has toilets, I am yet to find them. I will not be back

It looks a great place to buy gifts or have a meal etc.... But found them not too friendly when my car broke down on the A90 at Barnton and was refused to use the toilet, the refusal was because I was not a customer and might make a mess on the toilet? You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!

Cloudberry is a wonderfully welcoming cafe with unique gifts for sale and a range of tasty food options available. The service is always fab too- very attentive! However, I am always disappointed by the lack of food options available for vegan/vegetarians. I have been now on 3 occasions and as a vegan the only option available to me is the soup of the day and bread (which is dependant on the flavour and the availability of that day). Today they had sold out of soup so my only option was a hot drink. I checked the menu and there wasn't even a vegetarian food option!! I had to go next door to the local Scotmid and pick up a hummus and falafel wrap. It's pretty poor that in 2018 a local cafe can't cater to vegetarians and vegans, especially as the ingredients required are usually cheaper.

This is a quaint little shop with nicely selected gifts and cards. It has a small cafe area at the back which offers tasty snacks, soups, cakes, panini etc. Located on the main road at Blackhall. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Always buy something in here, baby gifts, scarves, soaps and body lotions.

We are fortunate enough to live about 1 minute walk around the corner from Cloudberry! My teenage daughter loves it, and is always wanting to visit for their tuna melt panini. Personally I like the bacon and brie panini. All the food is prepared fresh, and comes with a side salad, the salad dressing is really delicious, I'd like to know where I can buy it! Friendly, efficient service, not too big a café, nor noisy, and surrounded by beautiful things in the gift shop.

! ¿Qué tipo de café no tienen cebollas! No estaremos apuran volver!

I love cloudberry and visit often but on a few occasions now we as a family (family of 3) have gone in for scones and coffee to be told there is only 2 scones left so we all fight over who gets the scone and someone gets something else. Today we were told the same only 2 scones left so I decided on malteaser slice. The two tables next to us, one of which I think was a regular customer asked for her usual and out comes a scone, the same happened to the other table next to us, they got a fruit scone. On leaving cloudberry I noticed that the scone stand on the counter had 5/6 scones in it. I am disappointed to have been informed there were no more scones available when I know there are some in the kitchen. I understand that it's school holidays so it might be busier than usual but this should be accommodated for and in my view if I were a coffee shop owner I would rather have a scone sold rather than leaving it to the afternoon rush in case you don't sell that scone.

Looks attractive both outside and in. Staff were inattentive to us but changed dramatically when a regular customer came in which highlighted the lack of welcome. Soup was very good with tasty fresh bread, scone was stale. Tea for 2 came in a very small pot and served just under 3 cups BETWEEN 2 of us which was not good value for the price. The regular spoke to us and told us how good the cakes were and how friendly a place it was but this is not what we found.

I came in here with my mother and daughter on a quiet Friday afternoon we were the only customers in at that point. The staff didn't say much to us beyond hello and when my latte arrived it was in a mug but half of it was just foamed milk resulting in a very small amount of drinkable coffee which was immensely strong due to there being very little milk. The gluten free brownie I had was very nice very rich and dense but when we went in there was very little choice left for cakes (this may have been due to them being busy earlier in the day but the signs were still up for everything that was missing) Overall it wasn't a terrible experience but equally it wasn't brilliant. I will come back another time though and give it about her go!!

Massive cup of coffee + small teapot of tea = beverage jealousy!Good traybakes particularly malteser slice. The shop is very pretty. Just one thing - the rope light in the cafe, it really freaked out my friend, it looks like a hangman's noose. It's probably cutting edge and very expensive but a bit weird for our taste.

I drive past this place everyday on my way to work and would never have released what's inside. However, my friend knew about it and took me there for a coffee and quick bite to eat. It's has a lovely little gift shop at the front and cute little cafe at the back. I recommend the home made soup and malteser cake!

Not a big place, but excellent food with friendly service. We had a lovely light lunch (my wife especially liked the CBLT wrap), and my only issue (and it's not a big issue) was that the soup of the day was not what was declared on their website.

I had a scone and coffee to go from Cloudberry, Very tasty moist scone, the coffee on first taste was a little bitter but it grew on me. The service was excellent and the place had a nice vibe about it. There is a selection of sandwiches (hot/cold) and cakes etc on the menu. The shop is also a gift shop with some really interesting gift ideas. When I'm in the area i will definitely pop back. The price was very reasonable as well.Well worth a visit if you are in the area!

My very young children and I had a shocking experience with the manager at this store today after being sorely misunderstood then treated like animals; we walked away genuinely floored at the way we had been treated, and physically pushed out of the store. In hindsight I regret not standing my ground and waiving my rights in the power-hungry lion’s face. I will be delighted to never return nor give our recommendation to any friends or family. So long, Hotel Chocolat.

Was recommended here as I am celiac and they have a gf menu. As we were unsure what time we would be going (prior commitment before hand) I did not book. We arrived at 2.45pm and there was a sign outside saying 'bookings only, no walk ins' This was NOT on their website. We went in and spoke to a female member of staff who advised exactly what the sign had said. I then spoke to a male member of staff and asked where on their website it stated what the sign said, he said it didn't. Advised that due to rugby being on, they were unusually busy. The restaurant is large and they were not full to capacity. Asked if there was anyway we could have a table for 2 for an hour, point blank told no. We won't be returning.

Popped in for a pint en route to the Taylor Swift gig at Murrayfield. It can be found at the west end of Princes Street, just as you start walking down Queensferry Road. To be honest, our pints weren’t amazing. Two of us opted for the Pravha and found them a bit flat and sickly. A real shame, because the selection of draughts on offer was great and the pub itself had a nice traditional feel to it. Cost wise, by far the cheapest round of the day but for quality, one of the weakest.
