Please note that the photographs in this review show the old menu. Unfortunately, since The Junkyard has changed ownership, it has lost much of the charm and character that once made it a standout. The place isn’t just lacking in quality anymore. It’s the entire vibe, identity, and atmosphere that have taken a dive. Under the previous ownership, The Junkyard felt like a true gem. The owner’s genuine passion for craft beer and the unique menu helped create a space with a real sense of identity. One of the key aspects of that identity was the varied Crackbird chicken range, which has now been reduced to a single item on the menu. The new menu feels like a shadow of what it once was, confused and directionless, unsure whether it wants to be an Asian restaurant or a Western pub. To make matters worse, their website still shows the old menu, and there has been no update or acknowledgment of the changes. I can’t find any mention anywhere of The Junkyard having changed ownership, nor have I seen any indication that they intend to turn it into an Asian restaurant. This lack of transparency and communication from the new owners leads me to believe they are not interested in keeping customers informed or maintaining the vibe that made The Junkyard special. What made The Junkyard special, the character, the vibe, the overall experience, has been lost. Unfortunately, what The Junkyard once represented no longer exists.

Nice traditional cafe in EK village. Killing time yesterday morning spent 45 minutes having a pot of tea and a slice of toast and everything was good. Stand out, however, was the service by the young female server. She was busy but calm, charming and polite.

Love this place. Food lovely and nice friendly staff.prices really reasonable.Can always manage to fit you in however busy they are. Extensive menu with daily specials and home made soups.Great selection of cakes too.

Have meal with family, in The GardenHall every second Tuesday, And always excellent service specially from Terry, and others, food fresh and great value, Would definitely recommend.

I recently held my 60th Birthday Celebrations at this venue. A Ladies Afternoon , then a disco at night. Perfect size for a party. Food during the day was amazing, as it was at night. Plenty of it, guests all commenting on how tasty it was. ( Gluten free food was yummy as well) The owner Catherine and staff were first class. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A great atmosphere for a party! A brilliant venue for a function.

Great wee pub with some very nice food

One of the best if not the best pub and restaurant in Hamilton with amazing staff that look after you throughout your visit well done to you all and thanks for all your hard work every day of the week

Cracking wee pub with friendly staff and delicious real ales!

I've been coming to this wee cafe since I was a baby with my mum and dad. Now I come along with my own babies over the years anytime I am in the arcade. Always the place to go with my family and friends. The staff make the place what it is, the food is brilliant always. The atmosphere is always great. Love their tea, coffee and cakes too. This place is like the heart of Rutherglen to me. A wee hidden gem. One place that still remains over all these years, and no wonder.

Never in my life have I paid £5.75 for 2 slices of bread and grated cheese 🫣 Some serious reconsideration of realistic pricing needs to happen!

Prices have went up quite a bit since I last visited and although food was good the service was quite poor, wasn't overly busy and took 20mins to get a food order taken
