Bar West in South Lanarkshire

Yvonne the manager needs to work on her customer service skills. In a cost of living crisis it takes a lot for a family to eat out & for the manager to ask the table if we want sauces, then to charge us additional money for this without telling us. Very embarrassing and shocking , won’t be back & will be warning everyone else to avoid

Staff were friendly My husband and I ordered the steak pie came in a separate dish on plate the pie was swimming in gravy, pastry was chewy, mashed potatoes were dry and looked like they had been reheated the roast potatoes were also dry. First time going here to celebrate our wedding anniversary won't be goi g back.

Fantastic food and brilliant and attentive customer service. Particular mention to the barman, Darren, for his customer service and great cocktail 🍹🍹

Lovely atmosphere and really good food, I would recommend though that you do not have the chips. The chips had a rather strong taste of scampi.

Booked bar west as my grand daughter loves the curry and I enjoy the food too . We both had starters . I had the prawns and she had chicken satay . Both delish . Then she had the curry ( obviously) and I had salt and chilli chicken . Preferred the way they used to do it ( like chicken strips) now it’s like curly fries only chicken . Still nice though. Waited around 10/15 mins for the staters ( not something I would normally notice if I was drinking !!) but on this occasion I was not . The server who I believe owns it as well is a total star. He is so bubbly and welcoming to everyone. Decent pub food

Food abit cold cajun sauce very runny should be thicker

I was seriously surprised to find out how brilliant the food was. Spanish chicken skewers were sensational. The staff were so helpful and friendly. A definite recommendation. Will be back

Went here recently for dinner and was impressed. Good pub grub, place gets a good reputation all through Hamilton. Staff were friendly too!

Excellent food and service. Starters pakora and chicken satay. Main meals, sweet and sour chicken and satay chicken with 1/2 chips and rice. Service staff were professional snd polite Bill with drinks under £40

Not tried the food yet, but smelled great when we arrived. Lovely wee place great decor, also has the beer garden, we didn't venture out there because it was late & cold, looked great from inside. We sat in the corner beside the front window. The seating was great & comfy. Staff were friendly. Was quiet when we went on a Thursday evening, just a few gents in. Would like to go back & experience a night at the weekend there. 👍👍

Stopping in for a quick pint one night on my way home, I finally checked out Bar West after passing by it for years. They happened to have live music which was good, but far too loud. I'm not adverse to loud music, but you couldn't actually have a conversation without shouting in someone's face. That said, it was quite busy and clearly popular with its regulars. The beer range is okay, but there was nothing particularly special or interesting on draft. From what I did have, though, I think perhaps the beer is being kept far too cold, to its detriment. Overall, while Bar West is an okay spot for a quick drink, the noise level and beer temperature may not be to everyone's liking.

Booked for Xmas Dinner only to find the place was as cold as a fridge. Was told by a regular the heating system had been broken for days. Very poor show, especially not advising this issue when booking.

New owners and, some amazing food on offer. Will definitely be returning

Good priced beers. Friendly bar staff. Found it a little bit hard to find a table when doing a walk-in. But that’s to be expected on a Friday. They made arrangements for us and we got a table for the full night. Sadly, the Tennent’s beer was out but we got red stripe on draft and was very tasty. My cousin showed me this place and will definitely be back.

Bit pricey for average bar food really nothing to write home about ,Draught beer was nt what it should be started with a Red stripe then Heineken they werent nice at all food was ok average but must stress really overpriced dont think we would return .

works Christmas dinner/lunch. I had traditional turkey dinner for my main course was amazing huge portion very tasty. others ate curries etc with chips and rice and hug portion for pudding. service was very good. loved it

If your in for a meal and have kids with you they'll only allow you to have one drink. Don't think that's very family friendly.

Only getting 4 stars as the food is to die for. Place is hands down the loudest most annoying pub I’ve ever been to yet being local we always go back 🙈 drinks also aren’t the cheapest!

Visited for a couple of brew's with a buddy. Seems well liked by the locals and has a great smokooterie. I suspect it gets busy later on in the evening. Food was pretty good for the price... certainly better than most pub food. Friendly staff, decent grub and good beer...what else can you ask for on a Saturday evening.

Bar West was spot on I had steak pie and chip's. the staff were very pleasant and very cheerful. thank you for a very good lunch.

Visited here with some family. The place has nice decor and surroundings. Good selection of drinks. The food was very average unfortunately, tasty enough but was very clearly frozen food. Might be better making home cooked food. All in all not bad but not great.

Stopped by for lunch - food was really good and the staff are really friendly. Very safe and the girls were spot on for Covid protocols. Just the play to have a nice bite to eat and keep safe in these times . Go in and try it you’ll really enjoy

Lovely food,generous portions. Service a bitty slow but there were many people eating hence delay - but that just confirms how good the place is.🙂

I love this bar. When I lived in Scotland in 2013 to 2014. The mac and cheese absolute love it. The drinks always great. Looking forward to coming back in march especially for st paddy's day.

Had our Christmas night out on 20th 🎅,very disappointed, No Christmas music no Christmas atmosphere 🎄nothing but football on🤨, could have pleased all parties if football was on silent and music was on ,,,,our party left

Last minute find as close to the hotel and google reviews were pretty good and who could pass up 3 courses for £12.00!!! All food hot and fresh, cant complain at all, taste and lots of flavour, i think the portions are bigger than what we expected. I would recommend for sure.

Went for a bite to eat and a few drinks on Friday before a gig. Food was great and staff were very helpful. Will definitely eat hear again.

Was inast weekend for the first time. Staff were really nice, macaroni and chips was lovely, drink was cheap. Had a brilliant day/night and would definitely visit again.

Excellent food, turned up late and staff still happy to serve. Meal was excellent.

Visited for dinner with the wife and kids. Place was really busy and had a good atmosphere. Staff were efficient and very friendly. Food was amazing, we have been here before but seems to get better and better everytime we come.

Staff were really friendly and service was quick even though it was fairly busy. I was here for the start of a staff night out so we were only buying drinks, don't have any negatives. Nice atmosphere in general

Got to be the worst pub in the country. Doorman is the most ignorant person on the planet. If you are visiting Hamilton do not, repeat do not visit this place. It gives Hamilton a bad name. Worst experience I've ever had on a night out ever. They feed alcohol to people that have clearly had more than enough, one of which I saw falling, resulting in a bad head injury. Avoid at all costs!! Should be renamed Bar Worst!!!

The staff were friendly, the food was good and priced reasonably however a visit to the gents was not a great experience, an over powering stench of urine and the complete floor covered in same, strange as this visit was midweek and the bar was not particularly busy?

The food menu has good variety and at a good price(£7 for 1 course and £2 extra for each additional course) while still being great quality. Bar staff are friendly and attentive. Bar is has a nice atmosphere with an outside sheltered smoking area.

Always a good atmosphere and a nice mix of people. All done up since last I was in. We had some food: beef nachos, salt and chilli chicken and mozzarella sticks, very tasty.
