Absolutely delicious steak dinner for two with sides in this busy wee pub, we had premium gin and lager in the mix; I thought they had made a mistake on the bill..... absolutely fabulous prices and outstanding service. The live talent was a wonderful touch. Thank you again, we will definitely be back!

Attended The Bully Inn to see the band Jubilee. The band was great. The food was lovely and the staff were very attentive and couldn't be nicer. It was a great day. Will definitely be back.

We were out as a family for our son-in-law's 50th birthday and had a great meal with very good service. It was Christmas Eve and therefore a limited set menu but the choices were good and the price excellent. They even cooked a child's meal for my grandson, which was very good of them when they were so busy. The owner is very attentive and caring and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

The food was a great let down compared with how it used to be. The slow cooked beef was good but the burger was inedible. The server asked how we enjoyed our meal and we told her the burger was awful, I would have thought she would have passed our comment to the owner/manager who would have come to speak to us, but no sign of anyone. We did not bother with dessert or coffees. We will not be back.

Arrived tonight and was looking forward to a good meal. Was told on arrival (place was empty , should have realised alarm bells) that it was a roast and this Sunday it was lamb and no options. So decided to stay and try. Were given two plates of ?lamb Consisted of 4 quarter slices of lamb most of which was still raw 1 roast potato, 1 half of a shallot splurge of mint puree 4 broad beans. thin slice of herb crust and honestly dont know what the mush was. Left the raw lamb as it was inedible, maybe cos we werent locals I don't know, but after said my complaint about food, a young couple came in obviously well known and were handed a menu to choose from. what a total disgrace to treat people this way. Definately NOT worth a visit.

Terrifically organised pub who put their customers first by providing top quality food, ambiance & entertainment.

We had gone out for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we first looked at the menu we were very unsure of some of the food combinations. However when we decided we were served a beautiful dish. I have a number of allergies and after checking the waitress was able to inform me of exactly what was and wasn't suitable for me to eat. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Looking for some good decent fayre a glance at Trip Advisor pointed us to the Bully Inn. Somewhat concerned as we passed through some estates to arrive at Four of us with two chosing the pate starter and the others the scallops and chorizo risotto. The pate was a right good chunk and the chutney clearly home made. The pate melted in the mouth whilst it danced with the flavours from the chutney. The scallops were exceptionally well cooked and the risotto had a deep flavour. All four of us had steak, all cooked differently and each one arrived exactly as asked. The owner asking if we wanted/needed more chips always being very attentive but not intrusive. Desserts were melt in the mouth chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding. This place is an absolute must, I can only imagine how good the menu is when it is at its normal and full.

Just had a fabulous meal at The Bully! First time back since lockdown and it didn’t disappoint! The Friday steak deal is tremendous value at £19.95 for 2 courses and £10 off per person! We had the fillet steak which was perfectly cooked and really tasty with hand cut chips. Thought we’d try the special of Chicken with mash and roasted parsnips. Can’t remember what the sauce was but the whole thing was to die for! Can’t recommend this place highly enough. If you haven’t been yet, give it a try!

Thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway afternoon tea to celebrate my dad's birthday. Everything was fresh, delicious and top quality.

The whole experience was fantastic. Was recommended to try by my neighbour and when we received the selection we were delighted. Sandwiches, proper flakey sausage rolls, cakes to cover everyone’s taste -meringues, strawberry tarts, scones with strawberry jam to mention just a few. If you have a sweet tooth as we do not miss this opportunity to indulge in a treat that you can now experience at home. As someone who has experienced numerous afternoon tea options this rates up there with the best. Local, fresh and delicious. Additionally the customer service is first rate and will definitely be returning.

Ordered afternoon Tea for 2 only received enough for 1 person after paying for 2 people. Was promised another to be sent out which never happened and then when they were quizzed about it they ignored us and then blocked us and refused a refund... totally unacceptable behaviour. Stay well clear to avoid being let down and disappointed.

Today 2may 2020 I recieved afternoon tea for myself and my parents. I have got to say the amount of food supplied for £42 is ridiculous. I would not recommend. Afternoon tea consists of I slice of bread per person with little filling., a 1/3 of a sausage roll, the smallest biscuit I have ever seen and a very small meringue let’s not forget a strawberry with little choc on it. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere

Quite disappointed to go out my way here to try for a Sunday dinner. Wasn't aloud to order of the main menu. So was limited to what I could order. Once food came both meals were cold as if they had been siting a while. Only thing that was was warm was my chips but everything else hadn't had much heat in it at all. Espically wasnt happy as it was steak I ordered. Had my 4 year old daughter with me and was limited to time with her and didn't want to wait for food again so just made do with it. Was hungry and didn't want to ruin a evening hence why a just ate it. Was made to feel as if i was lying as I was told the steak was put straight on my plate but it quite clearly wasnt as there was no heat to at all as had nothing else accept the chips. Women had a bit of a attitude about the situation. Defontly a major disappointment and will never step foot in the place again.

Visited the Bully Inn tonight. The Steak deal was on. £10.95 for sirloin steak and skinny fries. Steak was perfectly cooked and so tasty and tender. Superb value! We also had the pan fried sea bass with roasted fennel and baby potatoes. It was literally the best sea bass we have ever eaten! Really meaty piece of fish, beautifully cooked and the creamy sauce with it was amazing! Fabulous food! Would definitely recommend visiting if you haven’t been before. It’s a small country pub but has a great atmosphere and delicious food. Def not your average pub grub!!

Had a lovely birthday meal for my daughter recently, was perfect, honestly can't find fault.Food was fantastic, service was perfect. No complaints at all from anyone at out table, just lots of empty plates and positive comments, looking forward to our next visit,.Look the bully up, you won't be disappointed

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. They had obviously overbooked an event and place was overcrowded. Waitress could not serve other tables without our party having to leave their seats and stand to the side. We politely enquired about another table and were asked to leave. The manager stated she could not be bothered and what did.we expect for £15 per head. Absolutely gobsmacked by her lack of .manners. Place is aptly named.

Aptly named establishment. The manageress is the rudest person in hospitality I have ever came across. Cannot deal with any enquiries at all. Our group turned up for one of the party nights which included a 2 course meal and we were sat at a small round pub table squashed in beside other ’proper‘ tables. We would not have been able to eat there comfortably. we enquired if there was another table available and an angry and aggressive manageress appeared and said she wouldn’t be putting up with people moaning, threw our ticket money on the table and told us to leave as she wouldn’t be serving us. After only enquiring about another table!! God forbid what would have happened if we got a dirty glass and mentioned it! Reckon some missing people cases could be solved by digging up the back yard

Probably the worst meal out I’ve ever had. Went with my girlfriend for a nice meal but was so disappointed. Batter on the fish was still raw and runny on the inside so completely inedible. Chips undercooked. Took 1 hour to get food despite being the only party in the whole restaurant which was joined to the bar full of noisy riff raff punters so completely ruined atmosphere.

My husband & I both ordered rib eye steak. His was fine, mine was one third gristle & fat. But guess who's writing this review! Arrived early & had the place almost to ourselves. The server told us a great deal about her life (son's a chef) & asked far too many questions of us. When we told her what we'd planned for the next day (only because she'd asked, twice) she told us we should not go to Falkirk but drive to St Andrew's instead & enjoy the beach. It's October. And we're from Michigan, a peninsula.

After my partners 60th bash this time our youngests 30th and the proprietor and staff pulled out all the stops! Everything was laid out superbly to accommodate our guests and the guest of honour. The service was exceptional and the buffet had a great selection which catered for all ages. Fresh and tasty and every guest enjoyed the proceedings...well done Catherine and co.

Went with friends on Saturday night to find that there was a party being held in the Restaurant and thought this could be very noisy.

Bully is always fabulous. Food and drink alway excellent. Service always perfect .

Great place to eat. Owner Cathy really nice and friendly. Starters are good and filling main coarse was fish and chips which were better than chips shops. Will definitely go back again for one of the nights they do.

We voted the bully for the steak offer they were running. Excellent value for money. The food was delicious and staff are always warm and welcoming. I’m vegan and they are always accommodating if you ask for vegan options.

The occasion was my partners 60th Birthday and The Bully Inn management and staff pulled out all the stops, everyone made welcome, staff very friendly and a superb buffet laid on. It made for a tremendous day and the amount of positive comments from guests were in abundance. Well done The "Bully" and I would recommend it to anyone !

My husband and had lunch today We were told that we had to order from the Ala carte menu only as the market menu was not available today. Didn’t understand this at all??? Also the place was freezing. We should have left then but we decided just to stay and enjoy our meal but that was sadly not the case My husbands ordered the see bass but there was less food on his plate than you would get in a starter. £12.95 I had the fish and chips with pea purée. The fish was old & dry (terribly over cooked.) We looked at the sweet menu as we were still hungry... but not a great choice and some things were off the menu. Our 1st time at the Bully Inn and our last. The 1 star was for the nice waitress

Food was excellent, will definitely be back. I ordered the burger and I have to say it's one of the best I've had, my girlfriend had the steak, she said it was lovely. The service was great too. 👌

Another great afternoon at Bully Inn for Abba tribute. Great entertainment and food. Lovely little pub. Tribute afternoons are a great for a girl's day out.

I visited early January for a meal with a friend. Two courses, prosecco, cocktails. Food and service were excellent. Great value for money too.

What a lovely Sunday afternoon spent here. A rare find. Such a friendly welcoming place, good freshly cooked food - great value, delightful staff, and immaculate place. It happened to be a themed quiz, with staff dressed up Harry Potter style, and lots of families getting into the spirit. Would definitely go back if in the area, or fancy one of their themed events. Once found, good to know.

This place is a bit of the beaten track in the Village of Quarter.Fortunately I was brought up here but this was my first time back in 50years. The pub is not big and when we arrived on Sat night it was very busy but we had pre booked.Staff informed us that due to staff illness there would be a delay,but we were not in a rush.

The only village pub and the owners cannot be accused of resting on their laurels. Always plenty of entertainment and a a variety of such. Not only a decent selection of beverages but good food as well.

Been coming here for ages but things just seem to be getting worse the menu is average to say the least very limited in choice but probably to be expected from the size of the place the bully just seems to be ticking over just the place sometimes feels as if it’s closed it’s that quiet inside and for a small country pub the prices are rather steep in my opinion feel the place needs some direction sorry used to be all the time but may think again now.

Decided to try somewhere new for a spontanous meal out. First time in a long time we have all had a 3 course meal. We were all tasting each others food because it was all so nice. Portions dont look big but they will fill you. Presentation was lovely. Decor was nice and comfortable. Staff attentive. Not many tables as its a little country pub so Id book a table to save dissappointed. The only downside if any is that the menu choice is a bit limited but there was enough to keep the four of us happy with choice and it helped that everything was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.

Called in after searching trip using nearby facility and found this little pub.

We took a spur of the moment trip to Quarter and weren't disappointed. Catherine, the owner, is very welcoming and her staff very pleasant. Jan had a slow cooked ox chhek and I had the fillet steak with salad, prawns, scallops and hand cut chips. I also had cheesecake made in heaven. There was live music from a very talented young guy just to make the experience even better. It's my birthday next week, so we're going back. Can't wait.

Food underwhelming to say the least. Wanted to go here for a while but sorry, not impressed with the food or the service....very, very average.

We had an excellent day at The Bully for a recently themed Rum day, let’s not take that away from them, the place was buzzing, staff dressed for the occasion , however whether is was the promotional companies idea or it was the Bully’s idea to serve rum cocktails in plastic beakers was a huge let down.

An all-round good evening. The portions were substantial, the food well cooked. Service was attentive and never intrusive. We were made to feel very welcome.

We visited here as a party of 6 (4 adults and 2 children) for Mother's Day yesterday - the place was very busy but the atmosphere was great! We were early and had to wait for a table but didn't mind in the least and tables were rearranged as soon as possible to accommodate us! The set menu for the adults had a good choice for the 3 courses and the kids menu suited the children! The food was excellent - 6 empty plates went back to the kitchen - what more can we say?

Always first class service and food anytime we have been to the Bully Inn. Definitely recommend.

Lovely wee Place and lovely staff

Went here with friends for one of their ladies day/nights. Fantastic atmosphere and cocktails were lovely. The entertainment was great and everyone had a ball. The staff and owner were all friendly and courteous. Will definitely be back for more. Have also ate here before and the meals were delicious. It's a fantastic wee pub . Can't rate it enough!!

Sometimes you dine somewhere and wish you hadn’t. This really sums up our visit. Perhaps a ‘local’ diner. Not really made to feel welcome. Food mediocre, uninspired pub grub. Would not go back or recommend.

Fantastic night in the Bully Inn at the Hogmanay party. Live music from 2 different singers (both excellent), a first class buffet served to each table, which was absolutely delicious. The range of drinks and cocktails were amazing and the people and atmosphere made it a night to remember. I would highly recommend.

My colleagues and I visited The Bully Inn for our Christmas Lunch. I started with the Pate which was very good followed by the Beef Cheeks which just melted in my mouth. I finished with the Dark Chocolate and Caramel Tart which was delicious. Everything was so beautifully presented....compliments to the chefs. Would recommend The Bully Inn and will definitely return soon.

I visited the Bully Inn on the 19th of December to enjoy a relaxed meal with a friend

Not only was the waitress slightly manic but at the outset managed to get a simple drink order wrong. In addition we had to lift cutlery from another table. The soup of the day was inedible.... a bowl of tasteless cream which was returned to the kitchen. The main course of a steak burger left an unpleasant after taste resulting from over use of itialian seasoning.

lAlways looking for somewhere different to have a meal when my friend is through from Edinburgh - but no need to look any further than this lovely country restaurant and pub.Catherine has a warm and cheery welcome and left us plenty of time to read the menu which is full of mouthwatering dishes. My friend had a steak sandwich and I had the Burger. Both were moist and beautifully cooked and the skinny chips just perfect. When it came to the sweet I cannot explain the fantastic flavour of the sticky toffee pudding and pistachio ice cream - what a treat!! We will be back soon, Catherine

Would just like to give a big thumbs up to the Bully Inn for the quality of food served when we went for lunch. We both had the stornoway black pudding and egg on toast as a starter from the A La Carte menu which was superb. My husband had the steak burger and I had the steak in wine pie both from the lunch menu and both were excellent, my pie had loads of beef in it and was excellent and very tasty. My husband said the burger was really solid and very filling and enjoyable and although I could not eat anymore, my husband had the trio of ice cream to finish and we had 2 drinks, all for basically £20 a head!

Here for dinner We each had a main course My husband had a cappuccino and I had a latte. The total price including a soft drink and a large red wine was 37.55. There were plenty of choices on the menu. My Thai chicken was very good and my husband enjoyed his Bully Inn Burger. Unfortunately, there was a slight problem with the dessert menus as our menus differed slightly and, when I chose the raspberry and pistachio Eton mess from my menu, I was informed that it was actually not an available choice but that I could have summer fruit Eton mess (which was on my husband's menu). Obviously this is something which needs sorting as some obsolete menus are floating about. We found the pub rather noisy at first as it was crowded with people watching football. However, there was a nice atmosphere and it did quieten down. I would probably go back sometime as the food was good.

My family organised a surprise party for me. The owner could do enough for us, thank you Catherine this amazing county pub has the best staff. They couldn't do enough for us all. The food and entertainment was the best. The atmosphere in the Bully made my already fabulous night even more special!

We went for lunch on a Sunday the restaurant was empty, after we had our meal we realised why! We ordered burgers the choice was limited to an a la carte menu, the both burgers were very dry & you had to pay extra for sauces! My other friend had a chicken dish which was also very dry, we were all very disappointed & will not be returning.

First visit to the bully tonight,and will be back £7.95 steak night was amazing and all the trimmings, staff also very friendly and could not do enough for you. Definitely be back ....

The bully inn is a great wee gem tucked away in quarter just outside Hamilton. The staff are all fantastic and welcoming. The service is great and the food is to die for. The bigger "food establishments" could learn a thing or two from these guys. You have to go check it out.......

Had dinner with my wife and my parents in the Bully Inn on Monday night (17th of July 2017) It was their promotional steak night that offered great value at only 7.95GBP for a sirloin steak with all the trimmings. The pub looked as if it had been fairly recently redecorated as the surroundings were very nice, we made a reservation by telephone with only 30 minutes notice and they accommodated my party of four with ease. Food, service and value for money I thought was excellent. I would recommend this lovely Scottish bar for their food and drinks selection and the hospitality was also very welcoming.
