Brilliant night with good music good staff and class banter, especially from the bartender that was working scouse guy. Tonight firday 11th oct we don’t your name but you were amazing and we love you. Food was abso Amazing. And I got to sing bills by lunch money Lewis. Amazing.

We visited tonight, very poor service, took forever to get our order, our drinks and then our food, the portions are extremely small, the trio of burgers very underwhelming, a small cup of chips. The Mac and cheese balls very greasy, the vimto cocktail had no sign of vimto at all, the lemon bon bon wasn't too bad, the waiter spilled my pint over my arm and my mobile, we also had a dog sat beside us you should be asking or informing customer due to allergens! We also did not get asked how our meals was. The waiter needs more attention to detail and customer service as it was non existent. I wouldn't be back!

was down for a business trip the food was lovely and the service was great especially michael in particular, was very friendly and polite i will be coming back here for my next business trip thanks for the wonderful atmosphere

Fantastic food. I walked in expecting bog-standard “Pub Grub” and was blown away by the food quality. Someone in the kitchen clearly cares about the food which is refreshing to see. The Crackbird Chicken is worth the hype.

Didn't eat here so couldn't review on that, service was great but it was hardly busy!! Staff were very attentive when the big yellow ball in the sky was streaming in and noticed it was in our eye line and closed the blinds without asking this small thing matters to a customer!!

Lovely cocktails. Just a bit expensive. Good for a treat.

On Tuesdays there is comedian night starts at 8pm. Friendly atmosphere

Food is good cocktails are a bit hit and miss

Used to be a great pub,but now it's like a private members club with most tables reserved for evening quizzers 6 of whom were only drinking water. The young staff need to be trained properly as the told me to get a menu when I asked theprice of prosecco.wont be back.

Been in a couple times the first being a few months ago. First time our order was wrong (ordered a sharing chicken platter). We got a similar platter which we were told cost more (but we would be charged for the cheaper one) but it wasn’t what we ordered - we didn’t want a platter with bones which is the one we were given. Probably should’ve made a bigger fuss but we were on a tight time schedule and it would’ve been a waste. Most recent visit (month or so ago) there was a very limited menu (for some reason). Got a burger, waitstaff suggested cheese (didn’t tell me that slice of cheese cost £2.50 😅 what a joke). The burger was fine but a pretty small sad specimen, same for the wee cup of chips. Friendly staff but not good value for money and I won’t be back.

We attended this evening as a family and the staff were ill informed of menu options and were unable to assist in anyway. The main course was inedible and I returned. We were charged full price on the bill and they refused to remove this. Poor food and worse service. We won't be back and would not recommend.

I really wanted to love this place as I had heard great things but tbh it was a bit disappointing. We went for dinner on Saturday night and we waited about 30 minutes for a drink and an hour for our food, tables around us we telling staff they had things missing that they ordered and they brought me the wrong side, they did correct it but my chunky chips where crunchy in the middle so was not the best , drinks are nice and food was okay but the chicken in my slider was a bit chewy. I’d go back but would not rush back, but maybe they where short staffed or something.

Food good, customer service reminiscent of the eye of sauron 🤣 we barely went 5 minutes at a time without someone popping round to check that everything was okay or if we wanted more drinks (3 separate people doing this, presumably they weren't communicating) - at one point I ordered a drink I didn't even want because the guy just wasn't going away And then after this there was a whole drama over whether our card payment had gone through and the person who paid was asked to check in their banking app to prove to the member of staff (turned out this was because they forgot to separate the merchant copy of the receipt from the customer one) which also took several visits from said staff member to resolve - during which a couple of other staff members asked if we wanted more drinks 🤣 All in all food and drink good, but for goodness sake guys get your act together - after going here we went to a local budget restaurant chain attached to a budget hotel and the service was SO much better (less intrusive)

Lovely food. Great choice of drinks. Friendly staff. Have events on most nights of the week. Open mic on a Monday, comedy night Tuesday and a quiz on a Wednesday. Steak pie warms the heart on a winters afternoon. Showing all the euros have at 4 pound a pint. Yassss

Lovely food unusually quiet for a sunday evening

Been multiple times and each time amazing service - very friendly staff and owners, food is served hot and a good portion, drinks are made quick by the bartenders and cocktails are never too strong to handle

Was in on Saturday the 11july service was outstanding but the steak 🥩 pie 🥧 with sausage in the ashet with real puff pastry on top was excellent All round great eating out experience Would highly recommend it. Jon fae the wating.........

Never tried the food, hence middle stars. But overall had a decent night, singer on the night I'm sad to say can hopefully whistle. Cause they truly cannot sing. It does get busy and because of this it's a snug place to be. Staff were good and tables were cleared constantly which is always good to see. I'd definitely go again, and so should you. (Hopefully it's a different singer) 😆

The manager clearly cares, actively seeking feedback on the beers and striving to offer the best selection at the best prices, even during tough economic times. This dedication shows in their constantly evolving beer list, adapting to trends while maintaining high standards. The food is another highlight. The JunkYard offers some fantastic meals, and the conservatory provides a lovely, eclectic atmosphere to enjoy them. However, it's worth noting that the quality of the food can vary a bit. It's usually great, but there have been occasional inconsistencies. Service can also be a bit uneven during peak hours. Despite these minor drawbacks, The JunkYard remains a great place. The fantastic beer selection, with an engaged manager, combined with the unique atmosphere and generally delicious food, makes it a worthwhile visit.

Had the classic burger. It didn't look like the photos on the website so I was slightly underwhelmed. That's said, was nice enough. Was asked if I wanted cheese, didn't realise it was another £2.50 to the privelege though. Expensive slice of cheese

There are few pubs that strive for top quality and let's face it, big chain pubs are soulless. The Junk Yard is an independent pub trying hard to do a great job, and to me it does. First off, customer service is incredible. Not just lip service nice, but actually make you feel like your custom is appreciated Food. Crackyard sauce. That's all you need to know. Freshly prepared, decent portions and well priced. Lovely Always decent beers- getting the traditional to the craft stuff. Forgot your big chain guff, support good local pubs. And thank you Junk Yard.

Ordered a £17 haggis burger and have never felt so robbed. The portion was absolutely shocking wasnt even on a standard size plate. I feel absolutely robbed tbh 1

Really nice Asian fusion with great cocktails.

Side salad was seriously lacking in tomatoes, cucumber and other things you would expect from such a dish and charged 'extra' of a meal! Poor! 25.1.24 - female staff member was just lovely and attentive. Halloumi Bun was good 😋

consistently great wee bar only 5 mins walk from main train station - great cocktails, interesting beers on tap and in the fridges , good music and no dafties to spoil your night ( unless you re actually out with a wee daftie in the first place) Only reason food isn't given 5 stars is that it is pub grub as opposed higher end but it is a pub and the grub is usually good.

Went to a comedy night here. It was a great night everyone performing was excellent. They had it in the conservatory acoustics were fine no issues. The only issue was that a friend who is a wheelchair user had to be carried up and then down the 3 stairs to the performance area and also there was no disabled toilet so we had to go to Asda after just to get a loo. This seems a bit poor for 2023 and although they enjoyed the night i felt for them as this really was unfair.

Food was better than expected, service was excellent and prices decent. Well worth a mod week try.

We had family over from the USA and London and decided to support our local community and went to Yunkyard for dinner. Everything was perfect. We could not decide on what to order from the menu and asked for a recommendation to which a staff member replied - "anything with CRACKBIRD in front of it". We followed his advice and when the food arrived, we knew that his recommendation was spot on! Wow! The food was amazing, the drinks were perfect and the live solo performance was spot on! Well done everyone, we will most certainly be back and recommend you with confidence!

Crackin place to eat and drink. Crack bird chicken is tremendous. Beer is good and selection of other drinks and cocktails is great. Staff are always friendly and go out their way to make you feel welcome. Best place in Hamilton

Nice food, visited on Monday and Tuesday, Monday evening was quiet Tuesday was very busy with a quiz night

Came here with friends for some cocktails and light bite to eat. We ordered chipsa and cheese which were so good, i know its just chips and cheese but honestly the fries were cooked to perfection and perfect amount of cheese- plenty toppings to choose from too. For cocktails we had the candyfloss one, grape one and drumstick one. Candyfloss one was nice, grape one was more blueberry but again nice, but as for the drumstick one avoid this one it tasted like straight tequila. Had some wines before leaving for a party but definitely would return back staff were nice also and great atmosphere.

Enjoyed out meal at JNK YRD. the homemade chilli was delicious as was all the food we had. Our server Lucas was very pleasant and friendly. The food was very reasonable for today's prices and plenty of it

The staff at jnk yrd are absolutely fantastic and make a simple drink at Hamilton turn into a fabulous drink at Hamilton... honestly been to Glasgow / Edinburgh and not had the same level of service, I've worked in bars across the city and trust me these guys are on the ball.....such a quirky nice bar, well done jnk yrd....👏👏👏👏

I booked a table on Saturday at 2pm for myself and 3 friends for food and cocktails. I ordered the cajun chicken pasta which arrived around half an hour later. Pasta was stone cold & the chicken was as tough as old boots. I called over the girl who took our order and explained to her that the pasta was cold & asked if it be possible for her to heat it up for me, she agreed & took it back to the kitchen. She came back a few moments later and it was clear to me that the pasta had just been switched from the first plate to a new plate. Same pasta, stone cold again. I called her over again and explained that it was still cold. Clearly mortified - she apologised and offered to take it back. I asked her not to bring a new one to me. Fast forward 5/10 minutes later the manager came over & asked who sent the pasta back, I told her it was me thinking she was over to apologise. What a laugh! She told me that the pasta was infact not cold & that herself and the kitchen staff temperature probed it & it was coming in at 75°c?! A blatant lie. I said the pasta was definitely cold to which she replied “it’s just a matter of opinion then.” In complete shock at how I had just been spoken to, we decided to finish our drinks and head somewhere else. After asking for the bill and seeing that I had been charged £12.95 for the cold pasta that I didnt even eat I told the girl I would not be paying for it and wanted the pasta deducted from the bill. She decided it would be best to have the manager deal with it so over comes little miss attitude who literally argued with me again telling me that my pasta was warm and not only did she temperature probe it but this time, she felt it with her hands and had her kitchen staff taste it. You really couldnt make it up. I was over it and this point and told her that she can argue with me all day, I wouldnt be paying for the pasta. She told us she wasnt authorised to take it off the bill. Isn’t that was managers are for?! She told me I would need to pay now and contact the owners for a refund. Laughable. Eventually after arguing with not only me but my 3 friends, she went away and came back with the bill minus the £12.95. Funny that, considering she wasn’t authorised right? Paid and got our jackets on to leave but not before she told us “do me a favour and dont come back” lol as of we would!!! We were expecting to spent well over £200 for the 4 of us given the price of the cocktails too, even the £65 we actually paid was too much for the service we received. Also fish tacos were 2 wee tiny bits of fish in a soft shell taco with a shred of veg. I had to ask my friend if she ordered from the small plates section it was that small. Spoiler alert - she didn’t. Gravy in the steak pie was like dishwater. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE unless you’re happy to have sh!t food in a sh!t pub with sh!t atmosphere and have staff try to gaslight you into thinking your food was 75°c when you could have cooled your sunburn with it. If you read other reviews you will see that this isnt the first time managers have pulled this stunt. Hello enviromental health. Thanks to the girl who took our order and served us, we really couldnt fault you at all. We hope your manager doesnt speak to you the way she spoke to us.

Great little bar, with really nice staff. Was made to feel very welcome. Drinks seemed well priced and they served a nice pint of Guinness. Seemed like they were shaping up for a very busy quiz night.

Best pint of lager in Hamilton. Good lager quality, temperature and the use of a clean dry glass doesn't seem that difficult a combination, but most places can't do it.

Ordered here for my mums birthday takeaway. Food came piping hot, excellent quality, and amazing value for money! Extremely large portions! Can’t recommend highly enough :)

Delicious food! The crack bird burger was amazing and we really enjoyed the macaroni bombs.

Junkyard was phenomenal with their service. They managed to find leeway in their bookings, as we were running extremely late, but still happily managed to accommodate us. From my colleagues experiences with the food, they thoroughly enjoyed them, and praised the crackbird sandwich. The halloumi fries for myself were absolutely amazing. The drinks from my, and colleagues experience was amazing. They all agreed that the drinks were 1) reasonably priced but also 2) delicious!! Furthermore, myself and others do enjoy a little smoke when we drink, and they happily opened the door to a patio-extension, which saved us from having to walk from one end of the building to the front doors. Was very thoughtful. The quiz night was also fun - however one of the colleagues accidentally clicked off the quiz so we came 12th in the end ahah. But it was a great laugh nonetheless. Overall, this place is a 10/10, especially being a family run business, they really have done a phenomenal job in catering for a large party booking - especially near Christmas time. Guests at the Premier Inn (Hamilton) will definitely be told to have a drink at Junkyard, as it is an amazing experience. Cheers again guys!! Declan x

An absolute cracking bar. We went down early evening and filled up with a southern fried sharer and home made nachos. Sooo much food and damn, it was good. The staff were chatty, super friendly and really helpful when deciding what to eat and drink. The bar has a great vibe, rustic wood, kinda junk yardy with music ranging from the 80s to the early 00s. We really had a nice evening and can't wait to go back, thanks guys.

We have been to Junkyard a few times in last few weeks and it’s turning into our new favourite place. The food is delicious with a really extensive menu. The staff are great, friendly and so hard working. The music is fantastic too. Place has a great vibe. We will go regularly

Decided to pop by for a quick drink with my wife. First time visiting, was seated quickly and made to wait 15 minutes to place my order. There was only one person working behind the bar and only one draught lager tap working out of many options. (After I placed my order for something else) Waste of time.

First time ordering from here and it won’t be the last, the food was very tasty, huge portions and great service. We didn’t get our dip though and had already left before noticing, no big deal easy mistake to make.

A small,but lovely pub in Hamilton. There is a conservatory at the side which is really nice to sit in as the main part is quite dark. Food and drinks were nice and reasonable. Staff friendly. If you are in Hamilton,give it a visit,I don't think you will be disappointed
