The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Yorkshire and The Humber

It's a fine place but a strange xenophobia exists. Not manly, in my view, just strange. (I was once challenged to a fight for no reason, which I ignored.) Guess I have a high voice. Can't think of another reason. Basically, the pub is a throw back to the 1970s. No problem, I was born in 1955, & refuse to be intimidated. However, as I walk in, order, & sit by the great fire, I don't expect strange looks & comments just out of sight. Pubs must be inclusive. Hence this review. Otherwise, no problem Great setting & good value for money.

We cannot recommend this cafe highly enough! Very well set out in view of covid rules and regulations- very clean - super friendly staff and a jolly good selection of snacks/meals. Coffee really good. Toilets are on the same floor with excellent facilities.

We had been on a walk nearby and wanted a coffee and cake (well deserved) 4 of us, no booking. Great Covid measures in place. But the star of the show was the cakes (all of them) Lemon cake was so fluffy and yummy, date and walnut slice Is possibly the best I’ve ever eaten and our friends had a Bakewell and Victoria sponge. Safe to say nothing was left & we asked who made them and it was the lovely lady in the kitchen who makes all the cakes! Definitely will stop by again for some cake! Side note coffee wasn’t the best but it really doesn’t matter as the cakes and friendly service make up for it.

From outside this bakery looks very tempting with a good display of pastries etc. It was also busy which is usually a good sign. The member of staff that served me was polite and chatty, all good. I bought a fat rascal and a Yorkshire curd tart. £6.20 for both so not cheap. We had half of each after our lunch but was very disappointed with both pastries. The fat rascal was very dry, even with butter and the tart tasted like it was a week old. Sorry Salts bakery but we won’t be returning.

Called today for breakfast. Had to wait nearly an hour at which point I said we needed to leave shortly. The breakfast suddenly appeared. Everything was cold and eggs overdone! Paid and left but no one was interested enough to ask if everything was ok. Definitely will not go back and wish I’d read trip advisor before going in

Estaba de compras en Next con mi esposa y mi hijo de 10 años. Mi hijo no es de los que andan por ahí mirando muebles e iluminación, así que se fue a otra parte de la tienda para sentarse y usar su teléfono. Cuando finalmente lo encontré de nuevo, estaba sentado solo sin nadie a su alrededor en la Costa dentro de Next. Él no tenía dinero y estaba en su pequeño mundo, así que decidí preguntarle a uno de los empleados si no les importaría darle un chocolate caliente mientras estaba allí. Una señora llamada Georgia acababa de terminar de limpiar mesas y mantener la exhibición de comida, donde gané su atención. Le pregunté si sería tan amable de conseguirle a mi hijo un chocolate caliente y dárselo, pero permítame pagarlo a mi regreso. También le dije a Georgia el nombre de mis hijos, y le pregunté si podía entregárselo, diciendo su nombre mientras lo hacía. 3 Me alegré tanto de ver la magia y el asombro que se desplegaban, pues estaba claramente sorprendido e incrédulo de que le hubieran dado una bebida aparentemente gratis. ¡Y con el miembro del personal sabiendo su nombre! Absolutamente brillante. Gracias Georgia por ser un buen deporte y alegrarle el día. Le encantaba, y no ha dejado de hablar de ello en toda la noche. Volví con mi esposa poco después de tomar más bebidas, pagando el chocolate caliente con mi pedido. Pero la acción estaba hecha y escondí a un hijo muy feliz por el resto del día. Gracias por alegrarle el día. 😊 marvellous .

Consistently lovely food, reasonably priced, super friendly staff, always make you feel very welcome. Go in every fortnight, they remember my order!

Love popping in to see the staff for a coffee, before I get my train. Amber and Sarah are very chatty and always remember my order.

The food is usually beautiful and have been here many times before but today I was very disappointed with the service and the food. I ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 cakes, same as always, but this time noticed something being added to my sandwich. I asked what she’d added to be abruptly told, “Pepper. Why?” I said I was just asking, to which I was told, “if you don’t want something adding, you need to tell me or I just do my own thing.” How ridiculous, I order what food I want not what I don’t want. Who goes to a cafe and asks, “can I have a sausage sandwich please but no pepper!” Condiments should be added by the consumer to their taste. I gave it a go anyway but the pepper was too overpowering, so I went back and ordered and paid for a second sandwich. Instead of an apology, I was told they always add pepper (which they’ve never done before), and that I need to tell them if I don’t want anything added to my food! Basically I was made to feel at fault for their mistake. Anyway if you go here and don’t want pepper on your sandwich, you need to ask for no pepper, apparently.

This is a small, friendly family run cafe . The standard of cleanliness is good. They are very obliging, flexible and helpful.There is a good choice of lunches and snacks at very reasonable prices. The food was well cooked and delicious. The locals love it, and rightly so!

We tried the carvery at the Cricket Club after googling around for a decent carvery in the Catterick area. When we arrived the whole setup was very reminiscent of a school dinner. All the meat was already pre-carved, so that the whole thing works as a one big conveyer belt. The quality however is very average and most of the ingredients are clearly made from frozen. I’d recommend a Toby carvery over this. But it was edible.

Came here for cocktails but thought they were very average for the price I paid not many tables inside more outside. Friendly staff.
