Jacket potato was rock hard,my other halfs meal was a quiche which was vile,seems to be cooked to quickly not properly,went next door to Greggs,each to there own when going but I wont be going down,massive let down.

This was my first visit, only went in for a drink to waste time before catching a bus, but during that time observed how clean the place was, quite a few were coming in for meals and although there is no table menu there are lots of menu offerings and prices plastered all over the walls and those prices are astoundingly reasonable for some of the stacked plates I saw being brought to the tables. Yes I did observe one member of staff who seemed hard put to raise a smile as some reviewers noted, but it didnt interfere with the service, dont be put off

Excellent members of staff so friendly and helpful! They helped my special needs mum get her tray and help her with her order so patiently and delicious food and I'd highly recommend and the guy behind the counter was so friendly and happy and so was his assistant a young girl was amazing Thank you all so much

Traditional cafe. Food is good. Plentiful and cheap. Service is quick unless very busy and staff are friendly. Excellent value for money

Chicken dry, mash not mashed properly, cabbage and carrots looked like they had been thrown up in the air and a knife had been thrown at them. The worst meal ever and it cost £6.25. I would and could do better, staff are not interested.

First time shopping in Huddersfield since March 22nd...called at the Bus Station toilets - which are free at the moment and very clean and well kept by the amazing staff... Decided to call for lunch at the Cafe Express. It was a little confusing with the COVID social distancing signage but managed ok - jacket potato and toastie were nicely cooked and served with a small side salad on the plates. Enjoyed the visit overall.

I went into this cafe because the queue at Gregg's was out of the door. I thought I'd get quick service because there wasn't a queue. I ordered cheese on toast and waited 10 mins for it. I was hoping it would be delicious, how wrong was I. The bread wasn't toasted and the cheese was melted onto bread in a microwave. £2.38 they charged for that rubbish. The menu has everything and the kitchen sink on it. Service is poor. The make server pretended he was interested in the customers and he practically walked one customer out the door because he dared to have a conversation with him after spending his money. Rubbish staff, rubbish cafe, over hiked prices for what they serve. If you see a long queue at Gregg's, join it and wait however long it takes, your money will be better spent. Avoid going into Cafe Express, you"ll be in for a rude awakening and the staff pretend they like you and they don't .......especially if your not Caucasian.

Me and my partner used to go in this cafe most days of week. But stopped due to rude staff. 3/11/19 we decided to go in as we was passing and was hungry. It was the last and finally time we shall ever be going. My partner had sausage in Yorkshire pudding. Gravy was cold and salty sausages where lukewarm and the Yorkshire pudding was life less and taste less. I must say the best thing about the meal was the coffee and when we left. Cafe express you have sadly lost more customers

Came in for a coffee, purse in hand. Made the mistake of asking for a straw first before ordering. As I had been to the dentist and needed to drink without a mess. The super rude young girl behind the counter snarled at me "I wasnt ALLOWED a straw because I hadn't bought anything". I was just astounded at her attitude and replied "I wouldn't be ordering NOW!". Just left... what can you say to awful staff like that. Im just amazed she got hired to start with, let alone keep her job. Rest assured I shared my story with as many people as possible.

We called in here looking for a cooked breakfast and the place was busy with customers. I ordered a small cooked breakfast and a milky coffee. The food was great and well priced. There is an extensive menu of food and the staff are friendly. Would highly recommend.

I go to this cafe every day when I am working in Huddersfield. It’s clean and the staff are friendly. Free WiFi I really need to try something else on the menu but the BEST is so good 😊

Probably in all fairness this is one of the better Cafes in Huddersfield or the best even The staff are'nt overly-friendly I will admitt as many others have said here - which I echo, but their range of meals are very good, particulary the Pies and grills etc

Top breakfast,friendly staff would recommend to anybody,easy access for wheelchair users and very extensive menu to choose from

it provided a good amount of deals in the morning, but the quality sadly reflects in this, but it is in a convenient spot

Café opens nice and early needed to have early breakfast as going on a day trip. Plenty of choice and staff very friendly. I had a medium breakfast which was very nice but the beans and tomatoes could have been hotter. My husband had a large breakfast which was very nice but beans not very hot. On the whole it was enjoyable and would use again.

Almost 5 pound for a chicken burger and chips. The size of the piece of chicken in the burger was unbelievably small. And the lettuce was hardly even present! £1.75 for a portion of chips, and there was roughly 20 chips!! Many of them hard burned ends. Absolutely shocking will never return to this place.

Popped in on Sunday morning for a roll and a coffee as the place seemed nice and relaxing. Placed my order and sat down. After a short while I got my bacon sandwich (looking ok for the price you pay I guess) and after finishing it asked about the coffee which I realsied the waitress must have forgotten. No big deal, I am a waitress too and this sort of things happen. I got pointed to a cup of tea that had been sitting on the counter for who knows how long and when saying I'd ordered coffee within a minute got a murky brown liquid with a bit of bubbles that frankly looked like dishwasher waste. I returned the drink and left. Can't expect too much for £2 of course but still, that is no way to present food.

One of my favourite cafes to go at a lunchtime... i normally have a late breckie which is usually huge and very well priced. Its always busy which can only be a good sign!

Es un bonito lugar para ponerse al día con mis amigos. El personal es amable y servicial. Las personas discapacitadas son siempre bienvenidos y atendido por personal. Hay un montón de gente mayor que visitan a diario para charlar y beber. Comedor limpio y fresco, con asientos al aire libre bajo un revestimiento. Situado en la estación de autobuses de fácil acceso

Soy un habitual de este café. Siempre intento hacer una parada para tomar un café y charlar cuando pase. El personal me hacen sentir como en casa y como a un amigo en lugar de un cliente. A veces me pregunto cómo puede seguir sonriendo con el camino algunos clientes hablar con ellos, pero que lo hacen. Buena selección de comida todo bien presentado a un precio razonable. 5 higiene estrellas. Siempre limpia y una sonrisa de bienvenida a saludarte.

He visitado este café un par de veces mientras espera para autobuses, etc... La comida está bien, pero todo el personal necesario. Sus habilidades de servicio al cliente son horribles, son groseros, hasta el punto de que te apetece caminar y tomar su otro y nunca tienes una sonrisa. Hay una chavala que trabaja allí, que es el de todos, le trae tu comida sobre su mesa y sólo se cierra y paseos sin decir una palabra. Yo también tengo niños de mi propia mayores de ella, así que no esperes que tipo de tratamiento de un miembro del personal en un lugar estoy pasando una buena cantidad de dinero. Sé que muchas personas que han dejado de ir a la cafetería ahora debido al grosero personal miserable y fisichella en breve si sus actitudes no cambian. Si transportan en como este no todo estará fuera de un trabajo porque perderá todos sus clientes. Una sonrisa cuesta nada, es lo menos que se merece cuando estamos gastando una buena cantidad de dinero.

Complained about the dirty cutlery only for the staff to snatch them away rudely. Also food is usually nice bt i felt instantly sick n couldnt finish it..the gravy was oily and the chips hard.. disappointted as the place is usually good...Tip...if the staff is having a bad day dnt take it out on the customers.

they employ thieves such a Teresa Bratton I no she worked for me!! Cost me money left before I could do anything. I really don't know why people would employ her and the cafe she is at has really gone down hill.

This is a nice cafe spoilt by staff. They r the most rude n miserable I have ever seen in a cafe. Come on your serving the public so smile and b polite or better still bring new enthusiastic staff in. I won't b goin again till new staff appear.

I visit this cafe nearly every morning on my way to work and the staff are always pleasent and the food is great value for money great place to sit for a bite while waiting for a bus or just a break from shopping, ill always be a regular :)

They really do have a comprehensive menu. Eg Toad in the hole, stew.A wide range of sandwiches, baked potato toppings . . . etcBiscuits, fancy teas . . . etcI have been plenty of times and never had an issue with the staff. Perfectly polite and efficient.No loud music, just a smashing café, with plenty of space inside, and good quality fayre.
