Called in for a drink outside in the sunshine

1st visit yesterday with partner and family members. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Locals chatted with us and made us feel welcome. We'll definitely be back. Has more of a traditional pub feel which has charm.

Very cozy drinking pub. Plenty of seating and a good pool table that doesn't cost the earth. Only dropped a star because the 'white rat' beer isn't available now

It was my first time and I felt at home. Beer was nicely looked after and some of the locals were welcoming and interacted.

Nice busy friendly pub, they have 4 hand pulls but only 3 were in use which is not unusual these days. The beer I had was very well kept.

Sat outside on a lovely sunny day , nice surroundings and good atmosphere. Very good prices on drinks. Nice traditional British pub , nicely decorated inside, and lots of parking for vehicles.

DONT NOT GO INTO THIS PUB. We where refused entry by a VERY rude landlady who explained that my daughter aged 15 was not allowed on the premises due to her age even though she was accompanied by 3 over 18’s. There were seats outside the pub and we where told we couldn’t sit there either due to her age!!! This is rubbish according to the law (see attachment) Inbred people who run pub only for locals!!!

A great pub with a large selection of cask ales and spirits but no food, the building is old but well appointed and has a great atmosphere, there is a large TV in a small games section and a lounge and pool room, the landlord is friendly but will not tolerate swearing or overly rowdy behavior and there is a total ban on hats/caps or hoods of any kind, no exceptions! as there is CCTV for customer safety, CAMRA members get a discount on beer if they show their card,well worth a visit.Update, this pub has now closed down.

Lovely cosy place, plenty of atmosphere but slightly dated. 6 wonderful handpulled ales and a good variety of other drinks. A nice spruce up would make this a wonderful pub and a few more tables.

Got asked to take my baseball cap off???? What the???? I'm 38 year old and never, ever been asked that in a pub. Seems like a nice little place but would never go again just because of that. Would they ask an Asian woman to take there burka off? I doubt it, ridiculous...

A very pleasant experience with polite and friendly staff.

Horrible customer service. It's a pub so it's hit or miss regarding the service however the new girl behind the bar was bubbly, nice and smiling whereas the experienced girl just had a bad attitude and was rude putting me off from going there again. There are plenty of pubs around.

I too was asked to remove my hat yesterday when visiting this pub. Never have I been asked to do this in all my drinking life! Very unwelcoming and I certainly will not be back. The beer was average, but I did not linger with the oppressive atmosphere. Surprised it is the 2018 GBG.

Endless rules before you even enter. A spying landlord who loves his cameras more than his customers. An extremely rude landlady and landlord and the most awful food I've eaten in a pub. Avoid at all costs.

Good choice of Real Ales, Cask Lagers and Single Malts

Friendly service, 6 real ales and a real cider in tip-top condition, clean and tidy. Bad behaviour is not tolerated so it's a great place for a relaxing drink.
