From outside this bakery looks very tempting with a good display of pastries etc. It was also busy which is usually a good sign. The member of staff that served me was polite and chatty, all good. I bought a fat rascal and a Yorkshire curd tart. £6.20 for both so not cheap. We had half of each after our lunch but was very disappointed with both pastries. The fat rascal was very dry, even with butter and the tart tasted like it was a week old. Sorry Salts bakery but we won’t be returning.

I attended the village Bakery on 31 Aug and ordered a Ham Salad Sandwich with no butter or margarine - when I got it home there was actually no salad in it!!! Tried again today 07 Sept ordered the same, got the sandwich home and yes there was salad but also Margarine!!! This could have caused a severe allergic reaction in someone, as it is I have had to throw the sandwich away - if the staff can't handle the pressure of working in a busy environment and getting the orders correct, then this could cost the company greatly if someone dies or becomes ill because of an intolerance. Rest assured that in future I will go to Gordon Terrace and use the bakeries there. To get my order wrong 2 weeks running is inadequate as far as service goes, I'd lose my job if I treated customers in this manner.

Visited for lunch as usual place closed when I'm studying at college. Busy que and a lot of choice however that's where the positives end. Ladies serving were unsure of who had and hadn't been served. Ordered a ham salad sandwich no onion and sausage roll. This came to nearly £7 and still ended up with onion in the sandwich. Not one I will be back to.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch and a coffee. Always busy due to it being popular, and perfect location for exploring Saltaire, getting food with friends or when en route to the train station. Staff always friendly.

Granted I visited on my way to work not long after they opened. The staff were polite. I ordered a black americano and a large bacon and mushroom sandwich. I asked to sit in as a delivery had arrived with boxes and trays taking up room but they said it was ok. My complaint however is the price I paid on leaving. £10.10! for a large roll with three small rashers of bacon (they forgot the mushrooms) and a plain black coffee!! Apparently there is an additional 20% extra for the privilege of sitting in amongst all those boxes. A genuine rip off! I complained to which the person apologised and said they would feed it back but my advice be very clear on what you will get for your money.

As in the past we have struggled to find a place for a light lunch near Salts Mill. Previously we have headed up the hill to the modern high street. We thought this place was takeaway only but we spotted a couple of tables indoors in this cafe and bakery. I had a large beef and onion sandwich and a tea. It shows £5.50 ish on the board above the counter and the server did say it was more expensive to eat in so I was expecting maybe 10% but in reality it was nearly 40% more which I thought was a bit excessive bearing in mind it is such a basic cafe. The sandwich was very nice but rather overpriced.

Rang the main factory in Keighley as I needed to buy Grandma Wilds biscuits for a present and they advised me to go to Salts bakery to buy them as it was nearer my home. Very glad they did, on arrival there was a queue outside as it was lunchtime but looking in the window I could see why. They had a delicious array of homemade cakes biscuits pasties and the blackboard inside gave an endless choice of sandwiches in different sizes. Needless to say I came out with more than the biscuits I went in for and everything was mouth wateringly delicious and despite being so busy I was served promptly by a helpful lady. If only we had a bakery like this where I live!!

Opposite the great Salts Mill it was very convenient for early morning sustenance. It was quite busy, mostly seemingly with takeaway orders. Giving our choices, we availed of one of the small number of tables and in no time goodies arrived. Accompanied by coffee and cappuccino, all very tasty. Staff even though busy had time for chatting, pleasant and friendly.

Extremely rude staff. She basically barked at me, refusing to make a sandwich (a good hour before they closed, and everything in the front refrigerator). I bought 2 steak bakes and they were so greasy they were inedible. The meringues I took home were lovely. The cakes are obviously made by Wilds bakery, and the staff here could take a look at the customer service thay Wilds provide. I will never return.

This place is about the only tearoom you can have a seat. It’s very atmospheric and the food is good. Unfortunately the area is extremely small. So you have no other option to grab your food and eat it in the street (under the rain).

Disappointing today! After a long journey home from a weekend away, I was looking forward to a sandwich given I come here a lot. A couple of Cheese slices (usually grated) some ropey looking iceberg and no boiled egg - nor any salad cream (which I asked for) and the bread bun was questionable. Usually these are full sarnies but really unappetising for almost 3.50!

Had at least 5 bad experiences with them being rude and abruptive.myself and my colleagues go there simply as it is the nearest eatery to our work and we have all shared very negative experiences many times.today I had to wait Hal an hour for an order simply because they let too many customers in and forgot about my order.when I asked how long it would take I got snapped at.not the first time.albeit just a few weeks before there was one person in the shop and I got snapped at to wait outside until they had finished with that customer.a few days after that episode I was waiting by the door for another customer to finished to be told off for leaving the door open.nice food but absolutely terrible customer service.

Amazing food and staff! We visited today, 6/3/20 with my 3 year old soon and family. There are only a small number of tables but we managed to get seated straight away. This is a very popular place people were queuing out the door to order lunch to go. I ordered a Jacket Potato with tuna and cheese which came with a lovely side salad and egg, my mum ordered a Cornish pasty which she said was the best she had ever had at a cafe and my son had a tuna sandwich. As my son has a nut allergy the lovely lady serving us said she would use a separate board to prepare his food which we were very impressed with! The staff here went above and beyond to make our lunch enjoyable. They are an absolute credit to this establishment. On the way out we ordered some cakes to eat in the park. Such a lovely day, we will definitely be returning soon!

Excellent wide variety of sandwiches, rolls, traditional baking and snack meals on tables. The staff here are always excellent and as warm as the many pasties they sell. The prices are very reasonable for such freshness and attention to detail. It's great. The girl with the long red hair is amazing. Where's she gone? Hope she's back...A brilliant mix of an 'old-fashioned bakers' and modern approach with Thai curry pasties and vegan sausage rolls. We are lucky to have them.

We each had a steak bake, both were warm enough and the correct temp to eat straight away. Bit into the corner and it was thick pastry, carried on eating and got gravy and then small chunks of meat. Never said anything to my partner but when she said where is the meat? I know twice is not a coincidence. The dog thought the pastry was great. I thought there had to be a minimum amount of meat in these things by law. A certain high street sandwich shop does it much better and I don’t want to say that as I like to support local businesses. Sorry but you served it to me and charged me a decent amount for the privilege.

Been here several times and have been more than happy with the sandwiches themselves, coffees etc. Good prices & nice local business. However, after todays poor visit, it appears staff appear to not cope with busy / popular times in the cafe. Visited today with a festival on in Saltaire and ordered 1x bacon sandwich and 1x egg sandwich. I was handed two sandwiches and left. To return back to the car realising I had been given 2x bacon sandwiches I returned back to the shop to the some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. One member of staff said "Oh she's back" for then:*Sandwiches to be snatched out of my hand *Did not even let me explain what had happened and that I was not even bothered as mistakes do happen, *Told I HAD picked up someone else sandwiches, and that these now had to be thrown away* Talking about the incident and about myself in the kitchen amongst her colleagues * No apology and made to feel the incident was my fault.Absolute joke when busy, orders put on the counter to mingle in with everybody else's and not called out, which I think is of most concern today with allergies etc. After today unfortunately I will not be visiting again.

Called in for a couple of coffees which were fine BUT the prices as everywhere else should clearly show eat in or take out versions, rather than the staff having to point out the difference [which is 65p more for drinking in] due to the tax being added as was explained. There was also a hike in the price of a Custard for eating in! Never experienced this before and wasn’t impressed with the lack of clarity. Had a comprehensive sandwich selection BUT the reference to the fact that all the prices were for TAKE AWAY was at the very bottom of the board when it should have been at the top for clarity. Would be so easy to clear up any unnecessary confusion.

I've had one good experience here but the rest weren't... I think it's to do with which staff members are serving? There appears to be a bit of gloom, like there's an atmosphere at times. The food is good, don't get me wrong, but I sense some sort of " carry on" which isn't what you need to feel when you've come to relax and unwind. Recommend the food all the time...but not so always the service/ atmosphere.

The Bakery itself is fine. The staff however are something else. I appreciate it is a busy bakery and they have a lot of customers to serve, it is the customers that keep the bakery going though. I visit occasionally and there is one lady in particular I dread being served by who acts as though customers are a huge inconvenience. She has served me some take away sandwiches today but not asked if I wanted salad (this is something some of the other staff do so I didn't think to specify what I wanted - this was my mistake). I paid by card and as soon as the payment had gone through she turned away and started sorting out the rolls while I stood there waiting for my card receipt. My mother in law and grandmother in law visited recently and popped to the bakery on their own, they returned saying the food they bought was lovely but the woman who served them was absolutely miserable. Based on their description I can only assume it's the same person, at least I know it isn't just me she dislikes. It's a shame because if the staff were friendlier I'd give the bakery 5 stars.

There is one girl that works there that's absolutely brilliant, made me a lovely drink, was incredibly pleasant, she's the bomb. If it was just her - 5 stars. Next day though there were a couple of guys there, I asked for the same drink but it was quite bad honestly, they weren't as good at providing service nor at the drink making, mind you this is evening shift, two of them and they couldn't do half of what she did by herself (two people job, because she took the order manned the till and made the drinks), and even though they remade it it was still not even close, and they only had to make one, whereas she nailed two when I was there the day before. Anyway I didn't return it a second time but for 5+ quid I was expecting a lot more, honestly, and it was disappointing that they're not up to the same standard.

We arrived a few minutes before 3pm, an hour before the advertised closing time (4pm), to be told they close at 3pm and were doing takeout only. Ordered a kids hot chocolate and a scone for £6. After they'd taken our money, we were told we couldn't use the toilet because they had mopped the floor. We were told the toilet under the stairs outside was available, but this is dirty and full of cobwebs. Open to take your money, but not provide a service. Always been a great little cafe but very disappointed today.
