Tarquin's Tea Rooms in Bradford

First time visiting today and we were all so impressed. Great choice of food and could get more than one cup of tea out of the teapot!

Went into the café counter, told to go outside and order at the Ice cream kiosk? Had two decaf lattes in takeaway cups, 35p extra for decaf.. Two small squares of jam slice were 2.75 each. Altogether £12! Ridiculous prices!

Coffee ok ,tuna wrap and chips(chips only half cooked) vastly overpriced, charges extra for decaf coffee, all in all wouldn't go again👎

I went here with a colleague and a PWS at lunchtime on a Saturday. I just had a pot of tea. The PWS had a smashed cheeseburger and my colleague had a toasted chicken wrap, both came with chips and salad, the burger also had breaded onion rings and the wrap had coleslaw. Both enjoyed their meals with drinks and didn't have to wait too long for the food and drinks to arrive. Neither one finished the entire meal which was generously sized.

Called today for a snack at lunchtime. My wife and sister in law went to sit down, I went to doorway and a rude obnoxious guy came stood in front of me and before I had chance to say anything, said, you order at the hatch. I said I know, I was just going to ask where toilet is. His answer, its in the back, but you need to order first. So we made our choices and ordered. I ordered a hotdog, and chips. Never seen a hotdog like it. A plain teacake cut in half, cut open and a hotdog sausage in. No butter, no onions, just a pathetic lazy attempt at a hotdog. Obviously don't buy in hotdog rolls. I'm afraid they don't deserve to have a business serving food, or dealing with customers. The guy who served us was polite and friendly, and he also helped two ladies. Presumably the first guy is the owner, just in wrong job. Then just before we left, I saw in through the doorway a lady who Presumably does the preparation or works in the kitchen, was sat with a dog on her lap petting it. Not exactly appealing in a food place. Wouldn't give 1 star, if I could. Walk into Bingley or drive somewhere else. Definitely a place to avoid.

Not really their fault but all the bins are overflowing and the whole park is littered with coffee cups and sugar packets

Rude, argumentative, petty owner. I bought a drink and ice cream today but was refused any tap water (on a roasting hot day) because apparently they only give tap water to dogs and people who have bought alcohol but not me or my 4 year old. Definitely in breach of their alcohol licence and they don't seem to value or respect their paying customers. I'll go out of my way not to buy anything here again. Awful experience, horrible people. After speaking to other parents in the park I'm not the only one who thinks they're rude and petty too.

The ice-cream flavour was OK but the wafer cone was very cheap or old dated stock. £2.60 for small ice-cream isn't good value.

A nice little cafe in myrtle Park. Always do decent food and a good selection of drinks. I particularly like the outdoor seating and its a great facility to use on a nice weekend afternoon with the kids. I recommend Tarquins.

Beautiful, little cafe in Myrtle Park, Bingley. Gorgeous ice-creams, great coffee, and food, I had the Mexican wrap today, spicy chicken, cheese and peppers, yum. Served with, fries, guacamole, salsa and sour cream.

It's a lovely place but I wish it offered a more interesting up to date menu, it would be great to have more healthy, veggie & vegan options.

Whenever walking round Myrtle Park we always know that we will find a good welcome and friendly service at Tarquin's Tea Room. We have been coming down to the park, like many, to walk our dog. We always finish with a good cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Now that things are opening up more, the range of items on offer has increased and, though we just stick to a shared piece of confection, we are never disappointed. We have also recently discovered, much to our greyhound's delight, that she can also enjoy the delight of a 'dog sausage'. What more could one ask for? Pop along and try; you won't be disappointed.

Lovely quaint tea room in Myrtle Park. A nice variety of sandwiches, cakes and drinks. Designated area to order and pay then a separate area to collect purchases. Friendly staff a chance to sit around the bowling green to consume produce bought.

I think everything on the menu is very over priced compared to all the other cafes and sandwich shops in bingley! The food is nice but you can get it much cheaper elsewhere! Some of the staff can be very blunt and rude if your not a regular. I think I'd rather get my food elsewhere and take it into the park and enjoy the beautiful surroundings away from the cafe!

We arrived too late for hot food, but the owner went and checked & said we could still have pizzas if we wanted as the oven was still hot- helpful & accommodating.We opted for tea & cakes, which were tasty & fresh.Great for a socially distanced catch up x

I am highly impressed with the service and exceptional food supplied by Barbara. The variety and quality was superb. The value for money was excellent. I would highly recommend for catering purposes. I have eaten here recently with my daughter. We were unable to get an outdoor table. However, we ordered a take out and sat on the benches overlooking the bowling green. The pack up was superb. Thank you very much.

I've visited many times now and each time it has been a lovely experience. Friendly staff, good 'home' cooked food and tasty drinks and icecreams. Tried everything from soups, hot meals and sandwiches to cakes and never had a bad meal.

Start with the positive. Food was good. That’s where it starts and ends. So eat out help out everyone knows how it works apart from this cafe , his rules are different he got a different memo than the rest of the thousands that signed up to it. His says you must ask for discount when ordering or you don’t get it.?!? Charged £50 for 2 pizza 2 jackets and 5 drinks , which in itself is quite expensive. I always think this but nice settings and food is ok so I wasn’t bothered about this. What I am bothered about is the lies And attitude that fall out this mans mouth when challenged. I didn’t realise the discount until I heard the family on the next table complaining to each other they were charged full. After looking on my phone they were right, Asked the younger girl behind the counter if they were part of this scheme a voice shouted if you didn’t ask you don’t get!! I couldn’t even see him because he couldn’t even be bothered to stand up and come to the window , he was rude it was my fault he doesn’t have to apply it I have to ask if I want it ?!? Yet gov web site and every other place signed up automatically takes from your bill!! And to be honest the girl had an attitude about it like they are paying out of the till. So with this been my fault I asked for a refund which I don’t think I would have got if I hadn’t continued to stand in the que. Times are hard for businesses and for people trying to go out and help small places. This man just wants to rip you off I am in no doubt he will be charging full price but claiming half back. Then when he refunded me he said it’s no skin off his nose it doesn’t cost him anything ?!?! Really I thought you had paid out your own pocket they way you have carried on. The other family were behind me now for their refund “ ice cream is not included!!!” He shouts at them while dealing with me. One you are dealing with me and 2 they didn’t even get ice cream they paid £40 for meals. Rude obnoxious man with Absolutely no customer service or people skills. So I absolutely do not recommend, shame because it’s not because of the food. And the reply’s on here addressing any negative comments are absolutely classic. You really do need a lesson in how to deal with people. Read all the comments they are brilliant. And yes I’ve let all my friends know via fb. Funny I didn’t name the place but the majority . guessed which it was. Avoid at all cost. Got my popcorn ready to read the paragraph of abuse that is sure to land at some point

Hubby and I went for a walk round Myrtle Park today.We stopped by Tarquins tea rooms and decided we would have a sit down with a cool drink .Looked at the menu and decided ,as we were a bit peckish ,we would order a pizza and chips between us. Are we glad we did! Only took 8 minutes from ordering to being ready. Very good.The pepperoni pizza was obviously homemade, fresh and very very tasty. Chips came with it which were also lovely .Now .....my hubby is an extremely fussy eater but we both had to agree that it was the best pizza we had ever had.Both of us had drinks and wish we had room for one of the delicious looking cakes .We will definitely be back for another pizza and to sample lots more of the delicious things that were on offer! Thankyou Tarquins , you made our day very enjoyable!

1st time we visited Myrtle Park and went as had heard good things, we were not disappointed. Lovely coffee, great choice of ice creams and friendly staff. I had the Blue candyfloss icecream in a waffle cone that was yummy! The homemade cakes look nice too. They also do other drinks including alcoholic slushies, looking forward to a drier and warmer day to try those! Benches to sit around the bowling green in front too.Busy but all very ordered and lots of signage in these trying times.

Ordered food online (justeat), came extremely quickly and was very well presented and tasty (paninis, onion rings, burger). Probably best quality takeaway you can get during the day in the area. Guy delivering it followed social distancing etc. Will definitely go here in person next time in Myrtle Park. Thank you very much :)

Just had an excellent afternoon tea for two, lots of different items and really good quality, I would highly recommend it and will be getting it again, also delivered to your home

I visited here today to buy an ice cream and followed the clear markings on the floor for social distancing. An employee who was doing maintenance work came towards me and when it was clear he wasn’t going to leave any distancing I politely said ‘2 metres’ to which he replied ‘if you want two metres you can move cos I’m working’ I turned away and moved forwards slightly. He then came past me again and both times was so close he made contact. I said I was leaving because even the staff can’t leave a distance to which he shouted something rude back at me! Avoid at all costs if you care about not catching Covid-19!

My husband and I are in lockdown. Tarquins have recently started "takeaway" food. Tarquins have delivered Sunday lunches to our flat for the last three weeks. All the meals have been hot and delicious. The puddings too. The deliveries have really cheered us up. Well done Tarquins.

What a lovely little discovery. Took my elderly mum out for afternoon tea here today.We had tea, a strong latte for me, hubby had a coconut hot chocolate packed with marshmallows, cream and a flake on top. Very decadent.The owners were very friendly. Helped us with Mums wheelchair! Also gave us a mince pie each.We will be going back to try other things on their extensive menu.They even do Sunday lunches

We go regular where Barbara & John + All Staff are LOVELY including the relayed. Music! Where we sit to enjoy the homemade food, big choice of drinks including Alcoholic drinks. Thankyou as we always say!xxx.

I came with a group of friends as I had heard that this was the place to be to get a good old fashioned cup of tea, as I ordered I went to go to the toilet which states it's a public toilet for all go use, which is good but there was what could only be described as a sausage on the floor, now i like a sausage as much as the next bloke but this wasn't on a plate, I had to ask the manager why a sausage was on the floor, which I was then accused of planting the sausage, i was told I couldn't have tea or use the public toilet, I had my dog with me and I assured the manager my dog didn't leave it there, we left thirsty and confused, my dog won't be returning either as they dont provide food or drink, awful place which I'm not returning, my friends were shocked about it also and vowed not to return until the sausage is removed and we are given a explanation of why we were thrown out, the only positive thing was the menu which looked overpriced and right up my street,

Came here with my friend, the service was very poor, the staff rolled her eyes at me when I asked her to remove the black pudding of my plate politely, she also rolled her eyes at my friend for asking something. Never spoke to us. She was very rude. Then to top it off the breakfast I requested was awful, the toast was burnt, the egg was burnt ans it was very greasy. Would not reccomend this place at all

Was taken here by a friend for somewhere different for a coffee. Friendly staff and in a lovely quiet location in the park. Option to sit indoors if inclement weather but on this occasion it was warm and sunny so sat outside

After a previous dissapointing visit, we decided to try this recommended place again.My wife chose a Chip Butty whilst I chose a Bacon and Egg sandwich, my wife a pot of tea and I a cup of filter coffee.The drinks came quickly soon followed by the food. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty adn delicious to eat.

Called in for sugary drink to rehydrate and asked for glass of tap water...blistering sunshine and people need water! Was charged 70p for tap water!!! Yes 70p for a small glass of tap water! I bought a drink surely water should be free....it should be free anyway....most establishments from small cafes to pubs to hotels offer free water....absolutely disgusting they charge for this essential life need! Especially on one of hottest days of year!

Had a cheese burger meal followed by home made Bakewell tart, only just come out of the oven (still warm), was so tasty and reminded me of my mums great home cooked food, the staff are really lovely and friendly, the Chef, she is amazing. Great menu and lovely specials on the board, lots of fresh home mad cakes to choose from & great music.. I will definitely go again

I am visiting a friend in the area and she took me to look around. Bingley. We decided to stop for a cuppa. The first place we saw was indoors so I asked if there was a place to sit outside in the beautiful sunshine. She took me to Tarquinius Tea room which fitted the bill. Lovely setting, nice music and friendly staff. I asked for the tea cake and my friend had the scone. I had to wait a little while for my Tea cake and eventually it arrived oozing with butter. I bit into it and was disappointed to find it dry and crispy through to the centre. I should have sent it back but was so hungry that I ate it thinking it would improve??...It had no taste and few currents. I think it was a) an extremely cheap brand or b) in the freezer a long time so freezer burnt. I did mention it to the waitress but really should have sent it back. As stated in earlier comments, the food is not cheap, so I expect to be served decent food. I did not use the loo so this is a genuine comment.

I called in a couple of times when working in the area. Great breakfast on my first visit then got an omelette on the second occasion. Lovely staff and food. Ice cream for afters to die for. Great selection of flavours. Dont mistake this place for a greasy spoon if you want one of those nip in to Bingley i am sure you will find one.!

Popped in to try, very disappointing, very expensive coffee ☕ although of good quality as Illy brand. An impressive cappuccino machine, don't think barista trained, my latte was a coffee with hot milk and in a v v small cup at £2.45!!!!!The sign toilets out of use and not working was interesting as they apparently are in use and working, this is to deter non customers using, but as a customer you are not told we are lying v v strange!!! Hence I didn't use but wanted to!!! I will definitely not be calling again

Visited this cafe many times and always found the staff very welcoming . The Food is hearty and homemade and delicious. Well worth a visit . See you guys soon

Went for lunch with my wife I had mature cheddar cheese sandwich my wife had chicken melt sandwich was on menu as having chips and salad included the cheese was cheese slice no chips just crisps very dissapointed my wife's was not too bad but not many chips with that . I had pot of tea my wife had a latte price was £15 40p not good value at all

set in a nice park area ,over looking a crown green bowling ,green , £1.90 for a cornetto is a bit over the top for bingley .

I was here for lunch recently... good setting overlooking the well used bowling green (and games taking place), good food and fabulous ice-cream. The special of parma ham, melon, mozzarella with salad and sweet chilli dressing all worked perfectly!

Each time I have visited they have a note on the toilet door stating the toilets are out of use , but apparently they are in perfect

We have visited several times and never been disappointed by the quality and taste of the home cooked food and amazing choice of cakes and desserts. Not forgetting the variety of ice-cream flavours always available. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always a homemade special available and freshly made scones. We also visited during Bingley Music Live and bought drinks and food at a fraction of the cost to what was on offer on the main field !!

Having made about £14 of purchases we asked for a glass of tap water. This was refused in contravention of the premises being licenced. When I pointed this out I was told I was wrong and the gentleman I spoke to was not especially courteous.

We went here with a group of 25 after a walk. We had booked and we were given a very warm welcome. The tea was good and hot and the scones (special Christmas ones) were excellent. The rest of the home made cakes looked very attractive as well. Service was very quick and friendly.

Food and drink ok but asked for small water for medication and advised had none Been twice in last 6 weeks and toilet marked out of order Not good when wanted to wash 2 yr olds Hands prior to eating

Another lovely visit to Tarquin's tea room today. And it was packed! Luckily we got a table in the shade to enjoy our coffee, ice cream and milkshakes. Love this cafe and staff are welcoming and curteous.

Found myself wandering through Bingley like the free spirited lone wolf I am, when I stumbled upon Tarquins. What a delight this turned out to be!

Owners have no manners what so ever unbelievably rude! It's almost as if they want to loose customers... customer service and just general people skills are seriously lacking!

After a brisk walk to Myrtle Park, past the allotments and across the bridge, we headed for Tarquin's for a warming coffee.

This little quaint park café is idea while visiting Myrtle Park. It offers snacks, teas and a range of coffee's. The staff have always been accommodating and friendly. If your visiting the park for a walk or to watch the bowls its worth going to the café if your peckish of just want an ice cream. The prices are very reasonable. There's outside seating as well as tables inside. Well recommended to all.

We love Tarquin's and can rarely visit Myrtle Park without calling in.

This is a lovely place to stop for coffee.The staff are very friendly and the service is very good.With it's lovely surroundings of the park .Had a scone with jam and clotted cream would go back for more.

Lovely place to while away the hours on a Saturday morning before cricket. The full English keeps us going.

We called in again on Bingley Show day, the café was busy, but there were seats available.

The coffee and homemade cakes are excellent. The owners and staff are friendky and there is always some water for our labrador Skye We have eaten breakfast and it was very nice. The prices are compatible to other cafes in bingley

My son and his wife was in the park near these tea rooms with my granddaughter, when my granddaughter needed the toilet, as these tea rooms was very near by,, they went to see if they could use the toilet,, but they refused to let her use them,,my granddaughter is Six years old and was desperate to go,, they said it was for paying customers only,,I think this is unbelievable not to let a six year old girl to go to the toilet,,,my son and his wife use these tea rooms all the time but can tell they will never use them again and nether will I, it as also gone out on social media sites and a lot of local people said they would never use them ether,,, Disgusting

Decided to have all day breakfast here after a morning in the park. Ordered a beer first which I had to send back, it had clearly been sat in the barrel for far too long and tasted (and smelled) awful. After a very long wait the tiny, overpriced breakfast arrived which included the single worst 'sausage' I've ever had.

Great spot to relax with good food and drink especially when the sun is out. Worth the visit. Lots to look at and enjoy.

Can't comment on food or service because we have been their several times and never found it open even when the posh sighs outside say open seven days a week

after buying three coffees at this cafe and playing for half an hour on the childrens playground i returned to the cafe and asked if we could use the toilets .i was told there were no toilets even tho it was obvious there was one.i asked if there were any other facilities in the park as i had two girls with me who it was difficult to "go behind a tree "! i was told again there were no toilets.i asked if they could actually open a cafe with no facilities and the gentleman was most rude to me infront of my young children.surely it wouldnt harm to let little ones go to the loo!!

I visited the park with 2 friends and several small children between us on a scorching hot day.After buying 3 coffees we went back to the cafe to ask if the girls of the group could use the toilets and fill our water bottle up from the tap, we were refused on both counts! We were told their tap water wasn't drinkable and the toilets were out of order even though 3people had used it just before us.Obviously once youve bought from the cafe and walk away you're no longer classed as a customer..

Me and my husband had are beautiful wedding reception here and all I can say is it blow us away the food the drinks anything you wanted they had. The food Was out of this world the BEST we loved everything you did for us John and Barbara we can't thank you enough thank you for make are day that extra special lovely owners lovely place lovely staff beautiful scenery beautiful weather the best thankyou all are love Mr and Mrs Smith xxx

It seems finding Afternoon Tea late Sunday Afternoon has never been easy locally to Bingley, well it has now been solved.

Decided to take our Grandaughter to the park and we met our Daughter & baby Grandson their, the breakfasts was tasty & filling, and the service great, with staff really freindly. They are very child friendly which is a bonus as Bank holiday Mon was sunny with lots of familys in the park, so its a good job Tarquins has an amazing selection of good quality ice creams, which my Grandaughter loved. we were made to feel very welcome & warming a babys milk up wasn't a problem :-)

Went in here (juggling a 2 year-old and a push chair) to get some ice-creams. Due to very pointed notices that the toilets were for customers only I asked politely if we could use them first. The lad serving agreed a little grudgingly and said he thought there was someone in there. Waited by the door and a man came out (who I assumed to be the person in the toilet) so I moved towards the door for him to ask very rudely 'what do you want?'. I explained, looking to the first lad for confirmation. The man from the toilets muttered something and shuffled off.
