Excellent Sunday Roast after a fantastic morning walking the Millennium Way Super staff, super service Driven past many times…worth calling in

A cafe run by an Italian for Yorkshire folk or folk visiting Yorkshire adjacent to a popular car park for the Cow and Calf and Ilkkey Moor...fancy "Betty's" it isn't but if you've just come off the moor in dodgy weather you'll be glad of a sausage roll and cup of hot chocolate then it will hit the spot.

Our first visit to this lovely pub, in a beautiful location. Service was excellent and all our meals were of a high standard. Also dog friendly. We will definitely return.

Fantastic food and service & nothing was any trouble which you will always get at a Vinyage Inn wherever you go in the country

Friends meeting up for lunch, table booked for 12:30pm, started off poor when two out of the four drinks were wrong. After 1 hour we enquired where our food was, no apology just “I’ll go look”. Food finally arrived at 1:45pm but only two out of the four meals. When we pointed out after 5 minutes that we were still waiting on two meals still no apology and another “I’ll go see”. These two meals arrived nearly 10 minutes after the first, again no apology. Food tasted nice and well presented though the chicken on the salad was so overcooked it had to be ripped than sliced, and the chefs need to think twice before putting ice cream on warm plates, strangely enough it had melted before it got to the table and three puddings were ruined. It is however a beautiful building with great views, such a shame the service was so poor. It’s the first time in my life I have refused to leave a tip.

I bought a rum and raisin ice cream which tasted sandy and powdery, leaving me disgusted. My friend, who initially thought it looked nice, tried it and was equally repulsed. When I returned to the vendor to complain, he seemed indifferent, stating that most customers reported the same issue. He offered a replacement or a refund, but I declined, suggesting he inform others about the problem. To the owner: Please ensure the quality of your ice cream. Thank you.

Always service with a happy smile, and consistently great Bacon and Egg baps

Been a few times the view is epic from here, food is OK but not great a bacon and egg sandwich I had a few weeks ago left something to be desired, bacon was fatty and a bit stringy, with the egg not being runny and a touch over cooked and at the price if I'm being honest it could have been better, not bad just not great, drinks are good tea was fine and coffee is pretty good too, service is good and friendly and as prompt as possible give how many people are waiting obviously, so overall not bad but I've had better.

Lovely friendly owner/staff. Had a a bacon and egg sandwich, bread was a bit dry and no flavour to the bacon.

The Italian owner is friendly and Funny.

This is the place to sit the scenery is just beautiful the soup is even better i had the veggie soup it came with a huge buttered roll It was delicious certainly warmed me up, my sister got a bacon butty but she ate half my soup as the bowl of soup is massive and what a friendly guy I’m going back tomorrow for another bowl of soup. Highly recommend this place.

A pleasant restaurant with lovely views over the valley to Ilkley. An interesting varied menu with signature skewers different from other restaurants in the group. Tasty starters of lamb koftas and duck parfait with the lamb being particularly tasty and different. The skewers were all excellent from the prawns to the chicken and halloumi. We were served by Kelly who was helpful and friendly. Overall a very enjoyable lunch.

William is a very friendly character. I had the veg soup with roll it was amazing , great big cup full of veg. . Eaten overlooking the stunning countryside. The toilets were spotless. Cant recommend him highly enough .Always a favorite spot

Terrible service,we stood at the bar for 10 minutes waiting for some attention. We finally ordered a drink and the guy just walked off without saying a word or drink served wow.finaly sat down ordered food waited 40 minutes before it turned up..order a desert--bad move another 30 minutes, food average at best.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is good and the pub well decorated. We had to ask to replace our chips as they were not hot enough but the replacements were much the same temperature; the roasted vegetable wrap was tasteless; despite asking for no ice in my drink, a glass arrived with ice and the pint of beer ordered was very frothy and needed topping up! We felt the food was overpriced and of below that expected from this establishment.

Just back from a drive around Ilkley Moor and a disapointing brief stop at Cow and Calf thank god. All we wanted was a coffee and a slice of cake, we ve been before and it always seemed a lovely place. On arrival the place was busy, like a market, no help or greeting from staff, to help people to tables etc . We managed to get our own table which was still cluttered from people before. I placed our order at the bar for 2 coffees and 2 beef sandwichs £30 . Coffees arrived, not good, tepid at best, staff ran off before we could say anything or ask for tea spoon to stir coffee so we used fork handle. We waited 45 minutes no staff attended or said anything, finally food ? arrived my wife asked that table be cleared, there was an incident next to us with plates, cups and glasses dropped. The food was shocking fries, cold, the sandwiches were part toasted, pulled beef not mentioned on the menu. My wife requested another coffee that never arrived so we left disgusted but don't worry we won't be back. Poor service, poor cleanliness, poor drink, poor food and everyone running about trying to take and deliver orders, crazy. By the way they do have rooms, but then again so did fawlty towers, I don't think so.

Fresh air, fresh made food, cosy outside seating area and really nice staff, would recommend before or after getting your face blown off by the wind on the cow. 🤙

Beautiful setting even the wind & rain can’t take away from this stunning position. Busy but never felt rushed or forgotten, fish & chips the best we’ve ever had in a pub. Piping hot, crispy batter & so flavoursome. Bottle of rose Prosecco followed by sticky toffee pudding & a very indulgent chocolate brownie. All absolutely spot on. Cant wait to return

Ollie was very accommodating and delivered exceptional service. We were seated straight away and had our 2 courses within 50 minutes. The quality and taste of the food was outstanding and staff were extremely friendly. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Even amidst a bustling New Year's crowd, the bar never had a queue, and the restaurant service was swift without dramatic waits for food. The establishment operates like a well-oiled machine, with staff demonstrating mutual respect and consideration for both each other and the patrons. Our departure left us feeling more rejuvenated than we have in years, having discovered a place that treats us as genuine guests. It won't be long before we return for another memorable visit.

A warm welcome on a chilly day, mid point stop on a 9 mile walk with my dog, always an enthusiastic welcome from the owner, who never corrects my attempts at Italian (his home language), A veg soup was on the menu and was served as a whacking large portion, when I was half way though it the I was asked if there was enough or if I wanted more!!!! My friend and I were looking forward to lunch and having looked at the website fixed price lunch menu there were lots of choices with some interesting options. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT when we were given the menu! It was very short with few options, particularly for the starters, also the main course choices were mainly vegetarian. The mushroom starter was much smaller than before. Not only had prices increased but portion size had been reduced. We have eaten here several times, however, unless the menu changes we will not be returning.

An iconic Ilkley inn. We had a great family brunch there. The menu had enough variety for various dietary requirements and allergies. The food was good and the staff were friendly.

It was a really brisk windy day on the Moor. We come up here all the time but have never been to the Cafe. We had hot sandwiches and drinks in the gazebo and the sun was steaming through which made it a welcome warm place to shelter From the wind. I must say the bacon, egg and tomato bap I had was one of the best I have ever had. Also a cappuccino made by the Italian owner was simply superb. I will always make time for a stop now. Fantastic and a must visit.

Beautiful surroundings, pleasant staff and the food is very nice. The mulled wine is delicious. Be wary of the price of the wine. We got a house white, and we were charged £10.50. Personally I think this was a little expensive.

Came part of a family get together, as a retired chef, I was impressed not only was our food delicious but you were able to send out 25 to 30 various meals, so we were able to eat together. That is some feat! Compliments to the kitchen and waiting staff.
