This is a small, friendly family run cafe . The standard of cleanliness is good. They are very obliging, flexible and helpful. There is a good choice of lunches and snacks at very reasonable prices. The food was well cooked and delicious. The locals love it, and rightly so!

Very overpriced for a local cafe, ridiculously small portion sizes on some meals. Politely spoke to management regarding the meal and They seemed uninterested in the feedback, Not very friendly at all. Unfortunately we will not return, and definitely would not recommend.

My partner ordered a breakfast to take away and bring home. We asked for toast they gave us bread. Started to eat the breakfast which I was not initially impressed with due to the hard boiled fried egg and buttered bread only to discover a big black hair ! Took the breakfast back for my partner to be treated as though he had done something wrong no gesture of good will, staff walking around with no hair nets which is disgusting and the attitude of staff is even worse. My partner also mentioned the last time we ordered we paid for something we did not receive and they didnt even offer to resolve that !! Poor food & poor service.

This is a lovely little cafe. There is a great range of food to choose from on the menu. Just a few things they do are breakfasts, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and cakes They also do bigger meals. You can eat in or take away. All the food is a reasonable price and the staff are really friendly, helpful and polite.

Went in for breakfast the food was awful and cheap you could see the grease on the plate the food was swimming in it. The staff were rude and looked like they didn’t want to be there.

Me and my boyfriend have just popped in to Village cafe for the first time ever and was very well impressed small clean and tidy and well presented. We ordered a sausage and bacon baguette with tomato sauce, we would of liked the bacon a bit more well done around the edges but apart from that the bread was nice and soft and hit the spot. We was concerned about parking up and the chef said don’t worry I will bring it out as we was waiting in the car before our journey, Good service we will be back 😀

As I visited this cafe with close family,I found the interior to be very small.I would say, barely small enough to swing a cat.The food and drinks served, but when the value for money is considered, the cost seems excessive.I noted children's play toys in the corner of the cafe, but not sure where young guests would be able to play, unless they go outside.

Now i eat Breakfast once a week on a Saturday. We usually got to one a three cafes. This time we were point blank ignored (twice) in favour of people who arrived after us. No excuse so we will be going somewhere else from now on. Turns out theres a much better place anyhow which we have only just discovered.

I live locally and popped in whilst waiting for a prescription to be made up. Lovely omelette and chips - plenty of it and a nice cuppa to accompany. It gets quite busy from what I could see and it's a definite return in the future. I can't believe I have walked/driven passed hundreds of times and never been in.

The Village Café came highly recommended by locals [we were directed there by a staff member at Morrison's, when we asked if there was any where locally we could get a cup of tea.] So I was expecting good things. I was not disappointed. Seating was well spaced out, with approx. 8 tables and seating for around for 20+, plus a few tables for 2 outside. The menu was to be expected, with full breakfasts, sandwiches etc. And the cafe looked to be busy with regulars as well a 'girls' popping in for a late lunch together. We ordered 2 x BLTT [Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich and Tea]. After a busy day rushing around, it just hit the spot. [I noticed the cafe also does outside catering, with a good selection to choose from].

On visiting our favourite Yorkshire Wildlife Park required a cuppa & naughty cake stop. The Latte & Tea were excellent, the Honeycomb Cheesecake was delicious 🤤 Naughty & nice. The service was fast & efficient. Excellent refreshment stop.

Everything is overpriced and poor/average quality and I mean everything. Ales are not kept well and wines etc are bought via their sister site (Shire Stores), food isn't great but expensive and they've gone through chefs like a knife through butter ! I wasn't there but my friend was in recently when the little lad (aka Bar Manager) refused to serve 2 customers at 10.50pm, at which point another customer offered to buy them a drink only to be told by the manager that they would be barred if they bought them drinks - wow, how to treat your customers. On the hygiene front, they made a massive thing out of finally getting a 5 star rating after the recent and well documented rat issues which is fair enough. However, the gents still stinks horrendous and of course the rat issue occurred when they previously had 5 stars - so much for the ratings. Previous employees and suppliers are still owed £1000's I keep popping in but there's no sign of things getting any better

We stopped here for one night to complete a run the next morning. Restaurant This is one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Most meals we have had elsewhere recently have had poor service or low quality food. Not here! The staff were so friendly and accommodating and very attentive. The service was just right; orders taken and plates cleared at appropriate times, and just the right amount of time between courses; not rushed and didn’t take ages. We share a garlic and cheese pizza bread which was tasty, hot and fresh. I had the pulled pork Yorkshire and my husband has the sausage and mash, again nice and hot and delicious; the vegetables were cooked perfectly too not mushy and not al dente. We had Bakewell tart for pudding and it was lovely to be asked whether we wanted it cold or warm. Hotel A really smooth check in again with really helpful and lovely staff. The room was small and basic but very clean and tastefully decorated. Nice and quiet apart from the odd train going past. Mini toiletries in the bathroom. Clean and fluffy towels. Tea making facilities and biscuits. Plenty of plug sockets. Good WiFi connection too. Thank you for a lovely stay and a lovely meal.

Too many people had bought their drinks then just just hung around in the way at the bar. Singer performing was awful.
