RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL STAFF WHO MESS UP YOUR ORDER The overweight brown haired barmaid messed our order up and put down a cheeseburger instead of a burger. No receipt was given to my partner. The waitress with brown hair came out and refused to swap the cheeseburger. My partner went to the bar and the bar staff were very aggressive and ganged up on my partner. He had to buy another meal as they refused to refund or exchange the wrong burger. I had to speak to the manager as he came over and I said I just want the 2 other meals that we had paid for as my partner had eaten his meal. The manager was as bad as the bar staff and stuck up for them. The manager came over later and said do you know you can order from the app. I said well the issue was there was no receipt which should have been given and might use the app so the order would be correct - I said this just to get rid of him as I felt he was gloating and gaslighting us. Why should we use an app, not all of us want to pay by card for everything and it is as though he is putting the blame on us for not using the app than the staff incompetence. When my meal finally came out the burger was black and burnt. I did not complain as they don't care and won't sort the issue. A member of staff pushed open the fire doors just to get everyone out of the building for a few minutes. Apparently customers said they did this the week before. Terrible 'customer service', that is why the staff can't get a job elsewhere. Having to pay for 3 meals instead of 2 left us out of pocket. We could have gone to Brewers Fayre or Beefeater for the same price and be treated with respect and a good service. It is rough as there is a bouncer on the door in the afternoon. I won't be going back to this pub if scumbags are just going to serve you and keep your money for their mess up.

It is a great value pub in the middle of town. A good selection of food and beer.

Any burger or meat available, only chicken and all 4 of us the day after with diarrhea...

All was well until the bartender raised eye brows at us for ordering a vodka neat. I don't come out to have my drink choices judged. Other than that it was what you expect from a wetherspoons

I did here this pub was closing down before Christmas but is still open a lot of people will miss it if it dose close down

Best pub in Donny. Don't know why Wetherspoons has sold it. Bizarre.

Great prices on food and drink. Their were a few rowdy individuals the last time I was in. The manager did have a word with them though.

Shame on Wetherspoons closing this pub down. It's the only one with a decent selection of craft ciders

Nice little branch of the wetherspoons chain of pubs, cheap and more than cheerful, I never had food but expect it would be the same fare served by other wetherspoons ie cheap and decent enough pub grub, service was good although there were only two bar staff they were quick even though at one time they had a massive line at the bar, I never waited more than 4-5 minutes before getting served.

Nicely tucked away pub. Nice atmosphere and clean and tidy. The staff were prompt and polite. Drinks as you'd expect in wetherspoons were great value. Ordered on app to table, which was quick and seamless. Overall, it was a great experience.

Been to this spoons several times. Found the staff friendly and helpful. There are dart boards to play on. You ask at the bar for the darts.

Light late breakfast. Good value. This was my first visit and I used Google to locate it. Google tried sending me to two other establishments first.. both turned out not to be Wetherspoons.! So this one wasn't easy to find. But it's as good as any that I've been in. Service was excellent.

Is what it is. Cheap & cheerful. Handy for a quick bite to eat and a drink.

Great Spoons again as is The Red Lion. Staff very good as is the food but once again that 2 mile hike to the toilets, it wouldn't be a Spoons without that though, would it.😂👍

Stayed in Doncaster for 5 Nights between Christmas and New Year 2023/24 and used The Gate House for Breakfast 3 Mornings and always found the place very clean, staff friendly and efficient service. Would highly recommend, food was better than I'd expected as well. I was impressed by both of the Wetherspoons Bars in Doncaster.

This was one of the nicer Wetherspoons experiences I have endured. The service was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful particularly one gentlemen working last Friday night who's customer service was top shelf. The drinks and food came in reasonable time and it was busy. We even got asked if our food was okay, which is rare in Wetherspoons.

Nice place to have a quiet drink on a Sunday afternoon

Had a small breakfast, And a few pints first thing in the morning. Service was good. Food was good. And the drinks went down a treat.

A nice, if somewhat small selection of handpulled beers, a little cheaper than even the usual Wetherspoons price. A single room, large compared to many pubs although smaller than a typical 'spoons pub. Outside seating, on the pedestrianised area between the High St and Printing Office St.

Bought peas for £9 and was told I couldn't have them. Then when asking for refund or my money back I was told no and I shouldn't have ordered peas. Pretty sure its illegal to just take my money... I am not very peased with the situation

Here for lunch, it is very clean for wetherspoons, service was was good as was the food /drink . Toilets clean and staff very friendly. What more do you want? I always find the northern wetherspoons cleaner and friendly.

Only popped in for a quick drink was served quickly and place was quiet as mid week

Just had a large mixed grill and a pint. Food was perfectly cooked and only waited 10 minutes. Staff are friendly too.

Did not eat here due to seeing a young male member not washing his hands after going to the toilet, we went to the red lion instead

Pub was full, considering it's slated for closure. Seems bonkers. Food lovely and priced sensibly. Staff very attentive and polite, though it was very busy. Wonderful Doom Bar ale. Old so won't make it to the other 'Spoons place so very sad.

#177 Wetherspoons Visit. Really nice Wetherspoons. Staff are really great. So friendly, polite and efficient. Very clean and tidy. Great prices and great location in the centre of the city centre. It's a real shame this one is ear marked for closure soon. Hopefully the locals will come and and suppose this local Wetherspoons and they'll backtrack on the closure again.

Excellent value, always the cheapest pub, an you get same , probably better than other pubs. Perfect if you want to go out for a chat. Just remember your hiking boots for the toilets lol

After work I popped in and had the mini brunch and a blackcurrant cordial. The app was really easy to use when ordering. The food was hot, tasty and came very quickly. Staff were very attentive even so much as calling me Sir which I thought was a bit over the top but I expect they are scored on this by senior management. Was tempted to go again the day after! There was an indecent message in the gentleman's toilet but I expect that in so many places these days.

Odd how two Spoons can be so close together with a similar space but totally different. This bar seems far friendlier. OK, maybe not as busy as the Red Lion but a lot more hospitable. Delighted to have a pint from Dorset brewery Jurassic ..Durdle Door ( a famous coastal feature) at 5%. And once again Madge got her 50p CAMRA discount.

Jordan on the bar has an incredibly snotty attitude towards customers. I will be persuing an official complaint!

Whenever you think of whetherspoons, this is exactly what you imagine. As no place is perfect, this one is not an exception either. Service is fast, and great although we had brownies and chocolate sauce been left behind, so not the greatest experience with dry as sponge brownies.

Excellent help from all the staff especially Rick the Viking when one of our group became ill.

Team leader lady was rude to use it made my girlfriend so embarrassed it’s was a very un- comfortable she needs a break or a bit of training.

We went for breakfast on Sunday morning, a very hot day, not many people about so it was nice, chilled and relaxed. Could have done with having a bit of background music on as it seemed very quiet in there, which i didn't mind but it just adds a little something when you are relaxing with a coffee after your food. Good service good food at good prices.

Just went there with my PTSD dog for a drink, orderd my drinks and asked for some water for my dog as its 18 degrees, refused my dogs water and refused and refunded my drinks, bare in mind it says assistance dogs allowed, absolutely shocking they refused my dogs water

Food always lovely. Only the last time I went it wasn't very hot. Just about warm enough for me to eat straight away.... Bit disappointed

A ‘Spoons is a ‘Spoons, right? Well yeh, kind of, but the main difference is the team that runs it! The guys & girls here are always friendly and the service is always pretty slick, it’s usually pretty spotless and there’s a decent outdoor seating area too. Typically quieter than t’other Spoons down’t road, so if you want a quiet pint and a bite, this is probably the better choice!

Ordered the 5 wing basket and was shocked and disgusted at the microscopic things! Nobody came to the table to ask if everything was okay so now I’ve had to leave this review. Taken many photos to share. Almost a tenner that mean and the small pot of coleslaw was bigger.

Find the staff sociable and friendly, easy to strike up a conversation. The beverage good flavour and fair price,not had a bad pint, the place is clean and well managed. In other words few words on your own or with the family it's sound in

Humiliation isn't something I take lightly especially from weatherspoons pubs and staff ,,,,,, So il ask you a question should a man be turned away because of his clothing?? If a lady can be served wearing lady's clothing why can't a man be served wearing the same thing 🤔 I was called inappropriate and was turned away I thought equality was something weatherspoons staff wouldn't shame and disgrace me for but they did and quite honestly I find disgusting in this day and age I hope staff there aren't also bigots and racist ,,,,what we wear shouldn't define us as people As a company I'd be disgraced

It more than okay. Sadly a bit tired and now dated, but the friendly staff and good food served here makes up for that. Enjoyable visit, excellent eats.

The chicken jalfrezi and accompaniments were absolutely delicious. The portion was a good size too. Definitely will go again. As a disabled person using a rollator to walk, it was reassuring to find the disabled toilet on ground level and no steps to negotiate. Staff very helpful and polite.

Average modern Spoon's pub. We had lunch, a sirloin steak on Steak Tuesday. I have to say that I have not been impressed with their steaks before but this one was tasty and superbly cooked to medium-rare. Normally they are overcooked but this one was excellent.

Situated in a nice alley way. Note to Doncaster/south Yorkshire Council you've been given city status change your signs, maybe attract some tourists?

Spoons is spoons - you're guaranteed decent food, well priced beer and 10,000 stairs to the toilet, however... This place is different as you're made to feel very welcome by all the staff, even coming over to ask if the food is ok. Not had that before. Highly recommend this place 👍🏻
