The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Taunton Deane South West

Travelled here to meet family from Exeter for a Christmas meal. Very disappointing food all round. Turkey Christmas roast meal had no veggies other than roast potatoes. We asked for vegetables and were given a good bowl of them but by then the roast dinner was cold No stuffing and had to ask for sauces. Burger was good but fries were cold. Steamed fish on a small bed of vegetables was good but again had to request extra vegetables to make it a decent sized meal. Cauliflower steak was very bland and the kitchen had forgotten about the new potatoes and carrot mash that it was supposed to be served with. By the time they came after we reminded the staff, the cauliflower was cold. They had run out of Christmas pudding. The sticky toffee pudding was nice but weirdly served with grapes and a sponge finger. We ordered fruit with custard but that never came so we cancelled it once everyone had finished eating. Service was cordial but very slow. Perhaps they were short of staff that day? The next table was also really disappointed with their Christmas roast meal and asked us how we had managed to get some vegetables with our roast. Like us, they kept their coats on as it was cold inside. Wish we’d gone somewhere else for our special Christmas meet up.

What an amazing Sunday roast, the beef was melt-in-your-mouth, deserts to die for and game terrine started was fab. Great selection of beers on tap including Hawkstone IPA and even alcohol free on tap. Lovely to see a busy and nice clientele - warm and friendly.

A friend recommended this place to me for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. I had the pork and it was absolutely delicious - the portions are very generous and absolutely everything was cooked to perfection. The pub itself is cosy, with an open fire and country feel. The staff were all brilliant and the service super fast. The desserts looked amazing but we were too full to order one - I heard another customer get a dessert to take away which I later wished I had done! The price is really reasonable too, particularly for the amount of food you get - 7 different types of veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. A very generous portion of meat plus perfect crackling with the pork. You can also order extras - we had the stuffing which was also delicious. We will be going back here as soon as possible - best roast dinner I’ve had outside my Mum’s!

Had a lovely cream tea with 9 friends. Great service and the scones were beautiful freshly baked. Would recommend greatly

Always come here with my partner when we go into Taunton, they do a great cooked breakfast and the staff are always really lovely and polite! They are very catering to my gluten and dairy free girlfriend. Will continue to keep coming back!

Absolutely superb, I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of the expresso breakfast. £10 well spent, bargain. Highly recommend it 👍

The cafe is a great little hidden gem. Fantastic coffee, delicious cakes, a very nice owner and a beautiful selection of succulent plants and cacti, all very reasonably priced. Some of the plants are locally grown. I highly recommend trying out the independent cafe!

First class place buried deep in Somerset. Do find it as it is really worth it. Find your way to Langford Budville, have a great Mocha and a cheese scone with salt and pepper of course. Scarletts is next to a great garden centre that is small but stocked with great plants and bonsai trees. Scarletts is too good to miss for an exciting lunch.

I’m not a regular visitor to Wellington but when there this is where I head for a meal and drink. It’s got real proper pub atmosphere and is full of character. Always a warm welcome, good choice of drinks and food is great. Today I had the beef chilli con carne, superb!

I stop here regularly and it’s always great. I love the eclectic style and ambiance of this little place. Without doubt it’s my favourite station stop off. Tea and coffee always good and no extra charge for oat milk which is much appreciated. Called in today to find a customer shouting at a member of staff. Totally unnecessary. Hospitality workers work hard and deserve to be acknowledged and respected. Thank you for always being kind and polite when I pop in. I look forward to my visits.

Really great sandwiches made to order. Great service from a nice small team who will make a fresh sandwich while you wait. A selection of cakes and the Shrewsbury biscuits are delicious! Just the right amount of spices. I do question whether the hygiene rules are adhered-to regarding gloves and combining food preparation with payment acceptance

Decided while shopping in Taunton to have some dinner , so stumbled across this cafe Coffee and cream (Wish i had not) . After looking at the menu my wife decided on gamon , onion rings and peas and chips and i went for sausage beans and chips. The lady on the till for what ever reason had to get another member of staff to help her as she could not find on the till what my wife wanted , but the other lady said she had sorted it. After about 20 mins our food arrived , my heart sunk , my order was correct , but my wife ended up with cold ham eggs and chips instead of what i asked for. I said to her i would take it back , but she said not to worry as she would eat that, given our return bus back to Yeovil was only 30 mins away. To top it off both of our plates were stone cold and within a few mins my beans were cold shortly followed by my chips and sausages . I will not be returning ever again . £17.00 wasted on 2 terrible dinners .
