I stop here regularly and itโs always great. I love the eclectic style and ambiance of this little place. Without doubt itโs my favourite station stop off. Tea and coffee always good and no extra charge for oat milk which is much appreciated. Called in today to find a customer shouting at a member of staff. Totally unnecessary. Hospitality workers work hard and deserve to be acknowledged and respected. Thank you for always being kind and polite when I pop in. I look forward to my visits.

During storm Eunice we got stranded at Taunton station where we experienced Dashi coffee. I do like my fresh coffees and I am not talking about the overpriced highstreet chains. Dashi really delivers a good deep flavoured coffee and friendly staff. Unfortunately we live in the Netherlands so Taunton not on route. But in case you hesitate going to Dashiโs, do it! You will not regret it.

Lovely place for getting a bite to eat for the train, huge selection of coffees and hot snacks. BLT Sandwich was very nice. Massive selection of alcoholic drinks, which you can drink in there or take with you. A train station hidden gem!

8/7/21 - My mother and I stopped for coffee at Dashi whilst travelling and the coffee was really good but the service was even better. There was one guy working there at midday and he found the time to checked up on us and make sure our drinks were fine.

I visit every Tuesday and Thursday morning early to enjoy a great coffee and the best bacon sandwich in Taunton before going to work. I recommend the crispy bacon in white bread with brown sauce. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

I went into this cafe today just to grab something quick to eat! My train was then delayed so I decided to sit in the cafe and chill out. A man whoโs service was just so genuine and lovely made me feel 10 times better about my day. He asked me how my day was, and how my weekend has been. During this time an elderly gentleman also came into have a coffee, he helped him with his bags and to his seat, he also brought his drink to him and checked the train times for the gentleman, Ive worked in customer service myself for 5 years and that was one of the most polite and welcoming service Iโve ever had! Iโll definitely be back on my trips again. Considering with whatโs going on right now with the pandemic, I can tell you now Iโm not as stressed as I was before I step into the cafe. Thank you!!

What a treat to find Dashi cafe on the platform at Taunton station! I was immediately attracted to this welcoming cafe by the leather armchairs and original Art Deco decor including a great mirror and wall clock.- what a refreshing change to the often bland and plastic cafes that some stations offer. The assistant was friendly and the coffee and cake hit the spot. Well done Dashi!

Customer service amazing ! Greeted by a very friendly helpful lady. I unfortunately managed to spill my drink all over the floor , the staff were amazing and insisted on making sure I was ok and replacing my drink. They asked what drink I had and I said it was a hot chocolate (forgot to say it was almond milk ) and they replaced it instantly with exactly what I had previously ordered, they cleared up the spilt drink cheerfully and if it was no bother at all , so impressed ๐๐๐

I found this place by chance on a trip that meant I had a wait at the railway station for the connecting train. Now I deliberately break my journey to take advantage of the amazing hospitality and service. I can also highly recommend the chocolate orange cake

While awaiting our early morning train, we popped in here for breakfast. I saw many station employees collecting their Bacon Baps at the counter, which was tempting but I opted instead for a ham & cheese sandwich. They toasted it while I sat and rested in one of their comfortable armchairs. I thought Iโd give it a few minutes then check back on its readiness. I was thus quite surprised then to find my sandwich being brought to me along with napkins shortly after I sat down. So thoughtful! Now thatโs service! And yes, it was with a smile! Iโve not had this sort of service at any station eatery before, especially when they are mainly quick-grab, and counter service sort of places. This made a pleasant change! The sandwich too was very tasty! We will definitely be patronising Dashi here again as the staff are efficient and go the extra step to offer good service and hospitality. The cafรฉ has two separate entrances โ from the parking lot and platform but you canโt walk through. Visitors will like that they promote local Somerset beer and cider. Itโs a nice touch with the book and magazine shelves. Half of the space feels more like someoneโs living room; and it is relaxing so you forget that youโre actually sitting in the station of the third largest town in Somerset!

Great place to stop for a tea and a delicious home made sausage roll. Add to this the helpful and friendly staff and it made the wait for the train a pleasure.

I was short of time needed catch 6:51 I explained this to the very helpful staff they said theyโd be able to make it within 15 minutes which worked out perfect. Train station food is unusually horrible trust me I know Iโm a train driver. This sausage bap was so good! The sausages were very tasty and the roll was very soft and fresh, could not fault it. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. Wish Dashi was still at Temple Meads.

Welcoming and friendly, we popped in whilst in between trains and had the most amazing bacon roll in recent memory. Huge organic roll, stacked full of prime cuts of quality bacon at a good price. We were gutted we didn't have time to pop back in on the journey back for another as the god of train delays was against us.

Cleverly sited with separated entrances on train side and street side. Good coffee to be had here and as the title says, you'll never get more cheese in a toasted sandwich. Used this place in connection with train journeys in preference to Costa on other platform and looking forward to another visit there n a few days time. Our pre journey stop here has become a part of train travel.

I had to pass through Taunton station a few days ago and decided as I hadn't eaten for some time to have a snack at this cafe. However on presenting a brand new 'plastic' Clydesdale Bank ยฃ10 note I was informed that 'we don't take Scottish money' ! The 1st excuse was that they had received forgeries in the past - in spite of the fact that the note proffered was brand new, had all the security features of new English notes, and is legal tender.

Despite advertising wheelchair access I was unable to access this establishment yesterday due to a step and the wheelchair access door being locked and blocked inside by obstacles. This is a regular occurrence despite discussions with staff. Today one would expect a modern respected company to provide the very basic equal access.

Stopped in for a take out coffee on my morning trip to Exeter, clean, well stocked friendly staff. On the way back whilst waiting for a connection had a glass of wine ( very expensive for what it was) . Staff pleasant . Good place to go for a drink / snack .

If catching a train, or waiting for bus, this place is lovely for a cup of tea, they sell lots of different varieties of flavoured teas, they also sell alcohol, wine, ciders, local ales, they even sell books for the Hope & Homes charity, their prices are very reasonable, you can take away or sit in, they have lovely comfy leather chairs!

Spent over ยฃ5 on two coffees and a croissant - got on the train and they both had milk (asked for black) and the croissant was so stale it was inedible. All in the bin. Avoid! Even the train buffet car was better and that is saying something.

There are things that work and things that definitely don't. What works for the demographic in Bath doesn't work for Taunton. Would have expected gourmet burgers and other hot food but the only offering is sushi and average sandwiches. In terms of drinks, there's plenty of Gin and beer but very little in the way of any other spirits and only a single lager offering. I really would like to see Dashi up its game as the staff are great and it deserves to do well.

The cafe is a great little hidden gem. Fantastic coffee, delicious cakes, a very nice owner and a beautiful selection of succulent plants and cacti, all very reasonably priced. Some of the plants are locally grown. I highly recommend trying out the independent cafe!

Please be very wary of booking any kind of function here. Our experience was of booking for my wife's 50th birthday one year in advance. Booking accepted, we sent out invites and people began booking hotel rooms etc. We received a phone call a few days ago, telling us that they were cancelling the booking. They had a story about double booking us with someone who made a tentative enquiry two years ago(!), but it is clear that we have simply been bumped for a more lucrative offer. It is so disappointing when a business treats potential customers like this. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for any important function.
