Queens Arms in Taunton Deane

My W.I. meets here once a month & it is always great, whatever we are doing, whether it is a talk or meal, & we always have drinks. This evening was pizza night at the pub, so had the most delicious pizza, all reasonably priced. Great atmosphere, & friendly & efficient service.

We had the best roast dinner we’ve ever had whilst living in Somerset; service was friendly, the food, there isn’t enough superlatives to describe how incredible it was. We both had the beef brisket which was so well cooked, full of flavour, all of the vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the gravy was to die for, the fact you get an extra jug for the table is a great touch too, we also tried the home made stuffing balls they were so full of flavour and a perfect accompaniment. Then for dessert we had the most delicious sticky toffee pudding, I could eat it every day it was that nice! Will definitely be back.

This pub probably serves one of the best roast dinners we've ever eaten at a restaurant - which is pretty impressive. I really appreciate that you can have a smaller plate option if you have a smaller appetite, and even then the portion is good size. I wish I could give it 4.5 rather than 4, the reason for not having 5 is that sometimes the Yorkshire puddings come out a bit overcooked (the tops look almost burnt) but this is certainly forgivable given the quality of the rest of the food.

Visited for Sunday lunch with family, service was fantastic and the food was even better! Roast and desserts were some of the best we have had. Lovely pub with a really lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back and recommend.

Had an amazing roast dinner with the family, I think has to be the best in Somerset! Staff were friendly and welcoming too.

This is the second time we have had a Sunday roast here, I have to confess to being a bit fussy when it comes to having a roast out, but the roast here at the Queens Arms is by far the best roast I have had out. Fantastic array of veg, beautifully cooked melt in the mouth beef, crispy roast potatoes, and wonderful Yorkshire puddings, everything tastes really freshly cooked, you get an extra jug of gravy as well. Literally couldn’t fault it. Lovely staff also . Definitely worth a visit or two. We will be returning multiple times no doubt.

Finally grabbed a Sunday roast, bloody amazing! Fantastic vibe, always so cosy and lovely. Great service and wonderful food.

Excellent Sunday lunch menu, the best roast we've had for years! Warm welcome (not just the landlord and staff, but the log fire too!) and good family atmosphere, all ages relaxing together which was lovely. Don't know which was more impressive, the quality of the food or the quality of the service, which was efficient but in a very natural and friendly way, good attention to detail and all from people who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. Would recommend, and will certainly be coming again!

Quite simply the best Sunday roast for miles around. My family and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the amount served. We are so fortunate to have such a lovely welcoming pub right on our doorstep.

This pub has a lovely interior and a nice ambience. The girls behind the bar are friendly and very efficient. The beer range is a little bit uninspiring but you cant have everything. I used to be a fairly regular visitor but on my last four visits there have been badly behaived kids shouting and playing up. The selfish parents do absulutely nothing. One couple even brought in a baby that screamed the place down. I dont mind well bevaived kids but four visits in a row where you cant hear yourself speak is totally unacceptable. Shame, but wont go back.

Went on Wednesday which is pizza night, all made fresh, super crispy, thin base, I had the venison sausage pizza and my wife had the chicken and chorizo pizza. Served with a side of the best loaded fries I’ve ever had. Price was super cheap given the quality of the food. Will be back.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch experience at The Queens Arms. The roast dinners were outstanding and delicious and brilliant value for money. The staff are excellent and the service is superb. Well done to Clairey and Simon for a brilliant pub and dining experience.

Oh what a delicious curry, certainly befitting the banquet status.We had Poppadoms and homemade pickles, I had Lamb and Aubergine and Simon had Beef Rendang for our mains, served with rice, onion bahjjis,, paneer and Spinach, Dahl and Naan bread...It was delish.Well worth the travel and the £££.If you are vegetarian there is a delicious veggie option.

Cannot recommend this country pub highly enough. We've been regulars for over 25 years and this is the best it has ever been! Great landlords and fantastic, friendly and helpful staff. Amongst all the good food we thoroughly recommend the 'Curry' and 'Pizza' evenings and the Sunday lunches are not to be missed. Thank you Simon and Clary and all the staff.

Amazing service and lovely food. I had the soup starter and the fish and chips main. There’s a lovely atmosphere and quick service, and all the workers were lovely.

We visited a couple of weeks ago for a Fish & Chip special evening and it was really good, healthy portions, lovely fresh food and plenty of choice despite been called a Fish & Chip evening, I had the Cod, wife had fish cakes and our son had sausage all came as two portions so perfect for swapping, not to mention the chips, curry sauce and mushy peas. So we decided to try last nights Indian Banquet special evening, wow this was even better, great flavours, good choice and great value for money, the poppadum's to start with usual sides, followed by Chicken Tikka and Lamb and Aubergine Rogan Josh with other wonderful sides. WE don't normally right reviews but these visits really do warrant a review and letting people know how good it is, make sure you book as it was full last night.

Another enjoyable Curry Night at the Queens Arms. The food is delicious and we highly recommend you try it. We started off with poppadoms and a selection of chutneys, then we had the lamb rogan josh, (melt in the mouth) and the chicken tikka, served with rice and various sides. The pub is cosy and friendly, the service is quick and efficient. Looking forward to the next one!!

Si and Clarey have fixed this pub, which has been broken for years, and made it a great place to be. Living in the village we always wanted it to be good, and now it is. Excellent beer and food. The menu is not extensive but it’s well done and at a very reasonable price. Long May it continue.

Such a warm & welcoming atmosphere, exceptionally clean, fresh & light. Lovely setting and a Wonderful fire which was very welcome on the wet & windy day. Food was great as was the service... Ordered chicken burger in panko breadcrumbs (succulent & tender), triple cooked chips (my word, were they good! Crispy on outside & fluffy inside!)....mouthwatering! We visited on Sunday for roast lunch. Probably one of the best I’ve eaten out in a very long time. There were four of us, 3 had pork and 1 beef, all really delicious with around 6 vegetables, perfect roast potatoes and the pork crackling melted. Beautifully presented and not overfaced. I couldn’t manage dessert but my group had apple crumble and custard which was really good and also ice cream. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, fab service, excellent wine. We will definitely return soon.

Sunday lunch was gorgeous itself. Starters weren't very inspiring but puddings all looked good. Checked out the weekday menu which looked OK but doesn't really cater to the older person's taste, mainly burgers and curry.

Had a lovely evening meal Saturday night hubby had the gammon I had the chicken curry, both was lovely and good size portions. It was table service and the 2 young ladies were very polite and helpful nothing no trouble for them. They had a good assortment of beers and other drinks, we had popped in the evening before to book a table and called in the nx lunch time for a drink in their beer garden while we were visiting

We went for a roast dinner for my mums birthday, they were so accommodating for us all. The food and staff were outstanding. I would definitely recommend and will be returning again soon.

Such a lovely meal. As a GF vegetarian this was the nicest meal I’ve ever had for a Sunday roast alternative. Our friends enjoyed their meat Sunday roasts and deserts too. The service was attentive and amiable. Booking is important as it’s very popular and let them know your dietary requirements in advance if you have any- I was pleasantly surprised that they had made such an effort to accommodate my requirements.
