The Ring Of Bells Norton Fitzwarren in Taunton Deane

Please be very wary of booking any kind of function here. Our experience was of booking for my wife's 50th birthday one year in advance. Booking accepted, we sent out invites and people began booking hotel rooms etc. We received a phone call a few days ago, telling us that they were cancelling the booking. They had a story about double booking us with someone who made a tentative enquiry two years ago(!), but it is clear that we have simply been bumped for a more lucrative offer. It is so disappointing when a business treats potential customers like this. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for any important function.

Today was our third carvery trip to the Ring Of Bells in Norton Fitzwarren and I had to leave a review. Not only do you always get a friendly welcome when you first enter this lovely pub, but ALL the staff are genuinely lovely and make you feel part of a community. Not a grumpy face to be seen! They obviously enjoy their work and are proud of their pub. The pub itself is very clean and tidy, the beer garden is gorgeous (and a fantastic sun trap). It’s good value too with food and drinks at a price point to suit all budgets. The carvery is delicious, plentiful with loads to choose from and served by a really friendly chap. What really stands out for me though about this pub is how they have created a friendly environment, busy with happy locals as well as people from further a field. There is a genuine feeling that this pub is fully integrated into the community. As pubs struggle to survive in this tough environment, it’s wonderful to see the Ring Of Bells busy and successful, welcoming people of all ages. We will certainly be back again… and again.. and again.. etc!

We are regulars. We visit almost every Friday to meet with a board game club. Their food is awesome, especially the burgers. Their staff are friendly, good sense of humour and very welcoming. Cannot rate them enough. We booked the function room for a surprise party. It was the best day. Thank you so much.

Oh my goodness! Where do we start. Me and my now husband got married on 18th May and hired the function room for our evening. Josh and his partner couldn’t have been more accommodating. From the initial (last minute) booking to the food to the support when all felt a bit much! I have nothing bad to say about this venue. The locals were so friendly too! Honestly the best day of our lives made even better by this fabulous venue ❤️

I ordered a mega roast off just eat normally I am satisfied but today I am not it arrived cold so I had to reheat it, the potatoes were hard like they had been reheated ( I’m not saying they were reheated just what it tasted like) and the mash was lumpy. I paid £27 including delivery, I will order again in the future as this has been a one off and normally it’s delicious and hot! I hope next time I have a better experience.

We stopped in for an impromptu Saturday lunch. Excellent portions, lovely food, great value and a lovely welcome and service from the staff. Highly recommend it.

We made a special trip up for my son’s birthday and planned our whole day around having lunch here. I even messaged them the day before to double check they’d be doing food (to which they replied, “yes serving lunch from 12pm”). We arrived shortly after 1pm to be told there was no food this lunchtime as they had a private function on!! To say we were disappointed was an understatement. It put a downer on our day, made us rearrange our plans last minute and we had the inconvenience of then having to drive around looking for somewhere else to have a very late lunch with 3 hungry children in tow! It would of been understandable if we had just turned up but the fact I’d messaged the day before and been told they would be doing food, surely they knew they had a function on???!!

Josh and his team were amazing! Venue was perfect, lots of time to set up! Nothing was too much trouble! Food was amazing very happy with everything. 100% would use again and again! One very Happy Hen! We will be back to taste a Sunday carvery soon! Thank you for making my daughters night! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

2 for 1 meals during May, fantastic offer and alongside that it was really lovely food. Great staff, parking opposite, can’t wait to use the garden as it looks lovely, thoroughly recommend.

Went here with family for my 70th birthday, first time here, all so friendly & helpful. Carvery was amazing, definitely going again.

Never fails. This place has a relaxed family run atmosphere and is a real hidden gem. The carvery is amazing everytime. They have a great selection of meat and vegetables and lovely thick gravy, crispy roast potatoes with a fluffy centre! I don't write many reviews but this place definitely deserves one. If your looking for a great carvery and a friendly pub this places gets my thumbs up. Weve been a few times over recent months and would highly recommend.

We have just moved in the area and had drinks here. The inside is modern and clean. There is a food menu. Inside has a function room and TV for sports. Drinks are good quality and barman freindly. There is a nice beer garden and we will be back. Thanks

We have had our lunches delivered every Sunday except one, since November. We have only done this because we have been entirely satisfied with the food and the service. We would recommend anyone to try these lunches.

Mmmm just finished our sunday lunch after having in delivered. Amazing. Lots of it, hot, and cooked perfectly. Will definitely be ordering it again. Y & M, Taunton.

Had a couple of breakfast delivered to door and I must say they are just perfect. So nice to wake up and order a full English that arrives hot and tasty. Would 100 percent recommend :-)

My family and I recently went to the Ring of Bells. It’s such a nice pub. Food is amazing and the atmosphere is friendly. It also has a pretty beer garden where the kids could run about. Highly recommend this place.

Fabulous pub great atmosphere and even greater food!! Have to try the steak at this place. Definitely worth a visit!

We were told about the Ring of Bells by a family fiend, so we decided to book a table for a family carvery. We were greeted by friendly staff and had a great selection of gins. The carvery was AMAZING! The meat was spot on, I had the beef and pork. The pork belly was cooked to perfection, the fat was melt in your mouth and the crackling was crisp. The beef was really tender, pink in the middle and had a really nice flavour. It was accompanied by a large range of vegetables and homemade apple sauce. The pub could do with modernising but if you can forgive it for that you will have a fantastic roast dinner

A pleasant evening... a quiet venue to eat. The landlord has tried to improve the surroundings. Yes it's looking better. Looks clean! We had a nice eve..The service was ok! The food was good... it doesn't have the wow factor! But there was plenty, nicely cooked.. pub food. It's a Friendly pub with a warm welcome. The bill was extremely reasonable at the end..Would I return.. yes! Need to support local businesses!

We held a family event at the Ring of Bells and Sarah and Josh laid on a fab evening for the 50 plus crowd. We could not have asked for more , first class hosts and venue . ✌️✌️

The atmosphere is friendly and casual. Not pretentious. The menu is varied with a good choice of dishes. The portions were generous and tasted really good. The wine was a little pricey, but nice.Its a really good place for a night out with a group of friends. Large tables, open space. Really friendly staff.

Decent pub, decent food and drink. Nice staff. Just been a change of management but I have no experience of the previous management.

A quaint pub, small inside but great outdoor area with plenty of space, ideal for a warm summer evening.as you would expect a good range of traditional drinks, ad a bottle of wine, very good Pinot Noir, from SE Australia, reasonably priced.The service was good, but the meals did take quite a while to come out. The meals were great we enjoyed.

Home late so didn't want to cook! Where is easy to get a meal and watch the TV ? Right here in the ring of bells. Reasonably priced, nice food. Once again the manager couldn't be more obliging..

Friendly local pub, now under new management and undergoing refubishment. Sunday carvery lunch has got to be the best value in the area.

We chose The Ring Of Bells Taunton because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor, we were on our first visit to Taunton.

Recently held our 40th Anniversary Party here and cannot praise the Landlord's Josh and Sara enough. The Venue is clean and Josh and Sara are so friendly and helpful and nothing seem's too much trouble for them. So wether you are planning a small party or large my husband and I would not hesitate in recommending 'The Ring of Bells.

Friendly service, good food, good value, have had a good couple of Sunday lunch type meals (carvery) excellent. Very clean and well kept inside. There is a vegetarian option but you need to pre order for the Sunday side, not sure about daily snacks.

We had a wonderful Christmas dinner. The food was very good home cooked. Staff wonderful . would recommend. For a meal any time. We have had many wonderful meals here.

My wife and I had our wedding party here and couldn't ask for a better service/Host great food, great beer, not over priced. Run by lovely people massive thank you

We held our 59th wedding anniversary in the function room it was FREE HIRE , FREE FOOD , FREE USE OF DISCO LIGHTS . the staff done everything they could very helpful , we went back next day for a Sunday carvery that is great value and inc a sweet . Function room all clean and tidy , THANK YOU ALL .

We booked this for a carvery for 8 people. Lovely friendly people who are very warm and welcoming. Our table was booked for 1pm but a few of our party were late arriving. This wasn't a problem and we sat outside in the secluded beer garden whilst we waited. There was no sense of being rushed from the staff at all.

A good pub with an excellent choice of beers. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Pub also serves food which is ok and reasonably priced.

Wanted to try a nice steak , heard some good things about this place .so ventured into the unknown once again for you all & tried the steak dinner .well was not disappointed ,see my pics.the food came on these massive over a foot long plates . i had the 16oz rump ,well some one had to .also my guests had garlic steaks & full tailed scampi & chips with all the trimmings .all cooked to how we wanted it.the food was very good & well worth the money .hot & tasty .staff very friendly & great service . the place lovely & clean & traditional on the juke box playing in the back ground old sixties rock & roll all the old greats.please give it ago .. theres ample parking opposite the pub . great place to eat ,i love it.

On the outside the pub looks nothing! On the inside you will find two hard working Landlords, whom bent over backwards to ensure we had a good party; They were extremely welcoming, and friendly. It cost us nothing, food free!! yes free!! (for buffet) and function room free!! You don't get that everywhere...now do you?
