This hotel was clean, spacious and comfortable! Thank you Best Western!

Decent hotel. The person who checked us in was very friendly. The shower is nice and they even gave us free toothpaste because we forgot ours. The breakfast is pretty good, typical hotel breakfast items. The only downside is how far you have to walk from the elevator to get to some of the rooms, we had to walk a pretty long ways and open 3 doors to different hallways which was kind of challenging with our luggage.

Room service left my door ajar and accessible to anyone who walked by. It appears everything is here but my trust and piece of mind is broken. I was gone from 7am-midnight working a wedding and this was the most stressful way to get home from a long day.

After checking(staff was very nice) in went to our room and discovered a bed bug on the pillow, then another crawling on the bedspread. Called the office and we were given another room. The room was ok except for cobwebs on the ceiling corners. I think housekeeping needs to be improved. Never was contacted by the manager.

A 12 month interval since we last visited The York. The food was very good, apart from over cooked dauphinoise potato, and a curry that was claimed to be mild but was too spicy and dry. What was most disappointing was the service and customer care. We waited well into an hour after ordering our food, and we do understand it was Monday and it was very busy. But we were just left hanging, we had to chase the staff for news of our absent food, and at the end we almost had to demand a removal of the curry from the bill. We had no follow up after we received our food and again we had to attract the attention of staff to make them aware of the curry being too hot. It was exchanged for a lesser dish, but though satisfactory,not what was expected. Overall the food was very good, I should have made staff aware that the dauphinoise was not up to standard, but there seemed to be a reluctance for them to engage and sort problems out. As this is an annual pilgrimage, next year's visit is not as highly anticipated as it should be. As an addition, my main reason for visiting is the pies, and sticking a bit of puff pastry onto a bowl of meat doesn't really count, though the meat and the pastry were well cooked the composition was disappointing. Yes you were busy, we understand, but at least check your waiting customers and keep them updated. Thank you.

The king room is very nice, big, wood floors. Appears very clean. Bathroom is very clean. Not much around us not a busy town. This is an edit You can hear every door and person in and out of rooms and hallways. Room 117. Someone came in above us and it sounded like a herd of elephants. Very loud. Every step I think there’s not enough insulation between floors.

Great meal, we couldn’t decide so we had the Lasagna and the Steak and Stilton Pie and shared. Both delicious. Really enjoyed the food, it’s nice to find somewhere open with good food on a Monday night. Service was great too. We will definitely be back.

I chose to have dinner with family here because of the fantastic reviews. I can safely say they definately live up to the reviews because the food was excellent, prices were very reasonable and the staff were friendly and efficient. Would strongly recommend to others!

This place is wild, not necessarily in a good way. The bedroom was adequate, things were tidy enough but there were ants in my room, the hallways smelled like pee and I know it’s trivial but their one microwave doesn’t even have a rotation plate. While I’m grateful to have found a place after driving around for 2 hours, knowing that I checked in at 3am and will be out before 11am, near $200 is a lot for a single queen laid out like a studio flat with a small water closet. The staff was very kind although I wasn’t told the price up front, which sucked, but again exhausted. I don’t know hotel protocol for room rental but it does seem absurd to charge the full rate given they’re vacant rooms, let alone charge $200 for a single person room even if it was a regular rental. So while it’s adequate and the woman up front knew the trick to get the microwave working (buttons weren’t working), the smell, the ants, walking through a hall of increasingly strong pee smells and I am now laid in bed smelling maybe cigarette smoke seeped into the wood? All in all, fine in a pinch but definitely needs a deeper clean. The fact that they don’t clean nightly (only your third stay) for the cost is just way too steep. This is probably the only place I’ve ever checked every inch of the room, keep everything up off the ground and wear shoes if I’m not in the bed.

Party of ten of us. We had a selection of meals from the menu and we were all very pleased our meals. As for the beer I found the Sea Fury the best beer I have had for a long time.

I nearly didn't go in as I thought there was no outside bit but there was a lovely courtyard. Had an excellent pint of Otter (brewery not far away). Had a ploughman's and it was the best I've ever had. Nice and friendly staff and lovely pub inside as well.

We arrived a bit early but the landlord was very accommodating, got us seated and took our order before the kitchen was even open! This pub was great for my teenagers, vegan husband and of course the dog (who enjoyed her treats) The pies were just gorgeous. Would have definitely visited again if we were in the area longer.

Went here on Valentines Day, and it was absolutely delicious Main meals Lamb Shank served with creamy mash potato veg and gravy from the specials board I want the venison port and bacon pie, but unfortunately, they had sold out, so I had the lamb and mint pie with creamy mash potato peas and gravy, and it was divine the pastry of the pie was homemade which makes the pies here even better. We took our family, visiting us from Hampshire, to The York Inn, Churchinford, for an early Christmas family dinner on 9th December 2023. Dan & his fabulous team did not disappoint!! From the moment we arrived, the pub was buzzing. The food was amazing and the service st our table & from behind the bar was superb!! First time at this pub for Sunday lunch. Staff very efficient and professional and friendly. We were 3 adults and a 5 year old, we asked if the child could sausages with roast and they gladly did it for us. We had ,pork, lamb and turkey roast dinners and ot was delicious, the veg was awesome all the food was hot with lovely gravy. Lovely ambiance. Thank for a lovely lunch

Went there with the Taunton and District Friendship Club for lunch. Excellent food, a steak and ale pie not to be missed, sticky toffee pudding to die for. Very good service, Otter ale , what more could you want

Called into this pub which had Somerset Pub of the year across the front. Very difficult to park as Pub only had a very small car park. It was a busy lunch time so we expected a bit of a wait. We were shown into a sort of annex, where we were on our own. It took over 50 minutes for the food to arrive,m during which time we never even saw a member of staff.It was not very hot, the vegetables were bland. My wife’s was also below the expected standard. It appeared to a very traditional pub with all the usual pub meals, and prices were very reasonable, a sort of blast from the past and possibly very popular with older people. Not for me though.

We went out for sunday lunch to this very welcoming village pub, the service and especially the food was outstanding, will definitely be returning for food again soon

What a fantastic place. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and fabulous food. Have had breakfast and lunch there and really enjoyed them - ploughman's was one of the best I've ever had.

Judging by past experience and other reviews we were very unfortunate today. Good atmosphere and warm welcome, main meal came quickly, possibly too quickly. The roast potatoes,stuffing and yorkshire pudding almost burnt and not good to eat. The meat was cut so thinly I could hardly taste it. Vegetables good selection but slow arriving. Desserts were fine. All in all disappointed. B.

Amazing meal (Sunday dinner) full of flavour tasty indeed. Portions was very generous all cooked to perfection. It was brought out hot and was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful and polite. Excellent service didn’t have to wait long for any of the courses . It was sold out but comfortable to sit and eat. The atmosphere was very relaxed I didn’t see much waste on people’s plates, come to think about it none at all. It was 10/10 on everything. The welcome the service, atmosphere and the quality of the food. I’m a critical person I received from friends a good report of the place. I decided to check out ! And I did couldn’t find fault and I’m a VIRGO !!!

We had never been to the York Inn in Churchinford and as part of our family 3 monthly get togethers it was chosen by a family member. Wow what a great experience the food was excellent served within a reasonable time frame and the servers allowed a decent interval between courses. the staff were excellent, polite, friendly and knowledgeable. We always start at a rating of 10 and work down, we could only fault it a half point and that was simply because the black pepper wasn't in a grinder. We are planning a return trip to check out the lunch menu ourselves. It is well worth the trip to find it. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

This is a delightful little village pub where everything is extremely comfortable. We were made to feel especially welcome. Not our first visit to the York Inn, but a consistently satisfactory meal, and we all had pie. I had the venison, port and bacon pie, Vicki had the chicken bacon and leek,Derrek and Liz had the steak and stilton. So gross. The hotel where I was booked didn't have my reservation. The bedskirt had some nasty glob on it. The cover was stained. The shower was warm, the tub wouldn't drain. Never again. Take your money elsewhere. Best Western should be ashamed.
