Nice pub ,fitted a large group of us in without booking. Food standard but very pricey for what it is.

We stayed at the cottage owned by the vintage inn. David was very hospitable and it the inn itself had a very local and friendly vibe. The cottage we stayed in was lovely and we came back down to the pub to eat and also for breakfast the following day. We enjoyed the stay and will come back

Spent a night here, very locals bar but we found people very friendly. Was worried about the noise on a Saturday night as the obvious place to be with a live band in the town but no noise in the room. Room clean and comfy great check in and out times. Car park was difficult to find but we did eventually secure ga meal ed parking. We had an evening meal which was very tasty and a really good price, plenty of it as well, drinks were cheap too. Breakfast was also tasty and lots of it. Pub dog friendly, stairs up to rooms quite narrow but my 82 year old mum managed and she is quite unsteady at times. A lovely night away at a great price we all enjoyed it

I had booked a night here to break a journey up. It was a Monday evening and I booked it specifically because the website advertised food on a Monday evening. When I got there I was casually told that they weren’t doing food on Mondays. As the room was not en suite and fusty I moved on after very politely suggesting I should be due some sort of refund . No attempt to engage with me at all.

We all had roasts which were lovely, all served steaming hot. Extra gravy brought over. Our waitress was Bethany who was very friendly and attentive as usual.

Call in for lunch, lovely traditional pub with character in main high street. Liked the sign on the door…dogs welcome, people tolerated! The menu looks very good as the beef curry was on offer for lunch thought I would try that with a pint of Moretti… Superb, probably one of the best curries around. Great flavour and chunks of meat so tender, wonderful!

Called in at around 11.45am and discovered they served breakfast until 14.30. The breakfast was excellent and really tasty with the sausage and bacon sourced locally. The staff were also very friendly and on my next visit to Wellington I will be sure to call in at the Vintage.

We stopped for lunch at this lovely pub whilst on holiday. It is really dog friendly. It was a scorching hot day in June but really cool in this great place. The pub has its ok own dogs who wander about the place very friendly. We ordered the mixed grill,ham egg and chips,a ham and cheese salad and the garden burger ( Veggie)The coleslaw was delicious and homemade. The staff were very friendly and for homemade food the price was good. We really recommend you to eat here

What a lovely pub, very friendly and welcoming staff. Nice atmosphere made to feel very welcome with our dog. Food was delicious all home made and fresh, with very generous portions and such a good price. Would highly recommend, The young lad working today was very helpful polite and enthusiastic well done 👏 5 stars 🌟

Food was perfect, well cooked and hot. Bar staff were friendly, helpful and approachable. Pub is in a fantastic location - room for lots of business. Well done guys - keep up the good work!

Unashamedly old-fashioned, spotlessly clean, a definitive full Englsh breakfast, excellent service, a seriously competitive price - what’s not to like? I’d much sooner a stay here than in any of the region’s characterless (and more expensive) chain hotels.

What a great pub! Fantastic walled beer garden, nice wine and beers, excellent home made and inexpensive food, and super friendly and helpful staff.. perfect. We will definitely return next time we are in town. Highly recommended!

Popped in on the off chance they had a table for 2, the staff very quickly found us a table and we ordered straight away. Two Sunday roasts. They arrived at our table in no time and were delicious, the best roasts we've had for years. Great staff great food

Fabulous. So welcoming and warm. Friendly. I just wish I wasn’t so tired after 8hr journey to enjoy it more. Not loads of mod cons. Just homely, clean and nice and friendly. Will come again for sure. Loved it.

It’s quite an old dreary pub and dark!Old fashioned in every way.Perhaps a nicer way to say it is, the old style pub!The staff was pleasant enough.The food was not good. I asked for crusty bread with a ploughman’s... and yes I got a crust off white processed loaf! Not quite the crusty bread I imagined.. still they changed it for a part bake roll. Pickled eggs not fresh .. not my taste unfortunately. My friend had fish cakes she said they were okay..I wouldn’t go back sorry!

Warm welcome from the word go! Dave the landlord and his staff were very welcoming from the moment we stepped in to the Vintage. Old School drinking spot with a good comfortable bed and hearty breakfast. Visiting this small rural town for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the two night stay with bed and breakfast. I will be back for sure and will be happy to recommend the Vintage to family and friends for a short stay in a very local setting. Thank you Dave and all your staff for a pleasant stay in Wellington !

Great pub right in the centre of Wellington. My family joined me for a great value Sunday lunch and with very reasonably priced deserts it make a really great Sunday lunchtime experience. Try the Devon dreamer ale - really good :-)

We called in for a light lunch & were delighted with the Thai fish cakes & salad & the chili jacket potato. A big bonus was that, unlike many pubs, they serve pots of tea. It was service with a smile & we'll be back.

We ate there on a Friday evening. It was not overly crowded but one customer in a very loud voice was swearing more than once, The food was poor. My curry was tasteless, as much gravy as curry and my wife's fish and chips was bland. The only plus for the meal were the desserts which were excellent - the blueberry Bakewell and custard & crumble and custard. If it had not been for them the review would have been poor rather than average

Been here many times. Great food, friendly and welcoming staff. Great at the weekends with Dj on Friday nights and a band on Saturdays.

We were in Wellington and popped in for a meal. The pub was very clean looking and the prices were reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our main course was hot and fresh, but the crumble was not great. The fruit had too much water added and was rather insipid with a heavy crumble mix over. It may have been just an off day though.

Stayed over night at the Vintage Inn on our way down to Cornwall. The double room was very comfortable and even though we had to share a bathroom with other guests,it all worked out very well. Lovely place, retaining its feel of history and being modern as well. If I had to say anything negative it would be perhaps the stairs up to the rooms, but they are not steep and perfectly ok. We had both the evening meal and breakfast and both were cooked well using good quality ingredients. Obviously a lively pub and one where the locals love to go with live music at the weekends, Enjoyed staying in Wellington, a very pretty little town. Thank you, we intend to return on another journey yo the west county.

Quaint pub, certainly a blast from the past with its back bar full of optics and unheard of cheap spirits. Very quiet when we visited, nice sign advertising the Six Nations rugby in the bar (in June ). Definitely an independent operator as you wouldn’t see this in a managed , corporate pub environment, pleasant enough but needs to maybe take a step out of the last century

The pub has a few rooms up a winding staircase. Clean, cosy and comfortable antique bed in a homey surroundings. Bathroom on the hall but impecably clean.I fell into bed after a long day of trains and buses from Heathrow and soon was enjoying sweet dreams when all hell broke loose! I forgot about Saturday night party night in the pub downstairs. There was a birthday party - I know it was a birthday party because the band played "its your birthday" a thousand different ways.They packed up at 2am and from then on all was as silent as a tomb.In the morning there was a fantastic classic English breakfast with hot coffee and all the trimmings.Thanks guys it was great to be back in England.

This was our first visit. We wanted to try somewhere new with friends that wasn't far to travel. After looking on trip advisor we found this pub, as it had a good food review, we thought we would try it.

Tried it for lunch and found it to be nice and friendly staff and the pub was comfortable and clean. The food was ok plain but not bad as pub grub goes

Had the fish and chips. For £10 for 2 meals it was great value. Food came out pretty quickly and was excellent.

Went to the Vintage to see local rock band 'Paragon'. Whilst waiting for the band to play I saw some amazing looking dishes coming into the bar. Anyway, back to my review, the pub is small and quaint, the bar staff were very friendly and quick to serve, the locals seem a happy bunch, I'd call this a no thrills pub so don't arrange to have a 1st date there!

This might appear a bit rough and ready on the outside, but once inside you are sure of a warm welcome and good food. Dave the landlord catches the fresh fish and the ladies in the kitchen do an excellent Sunday roast. Its almost like eating at home. Brilliant value.

Spent two nights in a comfortable room, good food all at reasonable prices. Dog friendly with good walks nearby. Town like most towns is looking sad with empty shops but on the plus side it's kept clean with plenty of nice flower beds and basket's.

Me visita aquí con bastante regularidad, con amigos y mi pareja. Normalmente solo por una pinta de cerveza o sidra, con unos juegos de piscina. No he probado la comida, pero mis amigos siempre parecen disfrutar de lo que la orden y otros con los que he hablado me encanta la comida de aquí. Es un tradicional pub de ambiente, un ambiente muy relajado, incluso tiene un cuadro de duke! El jardín de la cerveza es enorme! Muy agradable cuando hace sol para salir con una pinta y relajarse. El servicio es rápido y el personal del bar es muy amable y servicial. Sin duda vale la pena visitar. Durante la hora punta, como las noches de viernes y sábado, ya que puede ser muy lleno y a veces peleas, aunque muy raro estos días.

Este lugar ha sido siempre el "local" ya que era lo suficientemente viejo para beber, y hay muchos buenos recuerdos que proviene de aquí. Pero después de mi reciente experiencia con la 'Nueva barman'I (y muchos otros) no regresaré hasta que él haya ido. Hablar de servicio grosero y de mala calidad. Se rehusó a incluso me sirven un vaso de agua que estoy seguro de que es ilegal. Él está costando el pub negocios que en este día y asuntos menores.

Mi marido y yo fuimos a La Vintage para el almuerzo. Mi marido tenía un bistec, aros de cebolla, champiñones, guisantes, patatas fritas y ensalada lado cocinado a su gusto y delicioso. Tuve pechuga de pollo (que se especialmente para mí, debido a mi dieta), restricciones brócoli, zanahorias y patatas con una jarra de la salsa. Yo soy exigente y fue cocinado a la perfección, el pollo se derretía en mi boca. ! ! ! Sin duda volveremos pronto. Hay una carpa como zona de jardín con mesas y sillas, también zona de fumadores. El personal era muy amable y muy servicial. Altamente recomendado.

We were out with a beautiful colleague who was leaving our business and following an amazing curry at the Tamarind Bay we descended upon the Vintage Inn.I have had Sunday lunch here and the place is brilliant.We had a good few drinks and really enjoyed our night.The staff were brilliant and helped our night as we were not exactly quiet.Thank you Vintage Inn - we really enjoyed our time with you.

This place in unique, the staff are something to be desired, don't go to bristol zoo for family entertainment just visit here and save yourself £s.. The wee chef so small we couldn't find her, but the results of the food were bloomin amazing, beautiful fish but that's enough about the locals, a special thanks to the local book ends Sal and Don. Overall an amazing experience which must be on everyone's bucket list, but before you do pop your clogs have one of the finest ales in the town in the favoured gods waiting room ( members only ).. I ate here a few times during my stay in Wellington. The food was extremely good value for money, the portions were big, and the chips were to die for!The staff were very friendly, as were the locals who were always happy to have a chat with you. A charming old pub with a lovely atmosphere.One of the friendliest pubs I have ever been in. Highly recommended.

The food here is delicious,I think they should bring back there lasagne and lamb shank though.Very well priced,portion sizes are excellent.food is also fresh,not microwave food.have eaten here a few times and will definitely return.

I come here a lot and it is just a really welcoming place to meet friends enjoy a quick bite or have a night out with great music. so many big chains around it is nice to see an old fashioned pub great!!!

Very good cheap food, a nice place to come of you want proper pub food, and the value for money is excellent, the Sunday roast is a great hit, but gets so popular you need to be very early or book. Is also a nice place to grab a drink, has a lovely large garden to relax in.

We loved staying at this pub it was amazing the landlord and landlady and all the staff were amazing and so too were the locals we still talk about our stay now even though it was a good 3 years ago when we came down to look at a rescue Rottweiller place and stayed here overnight. The hospitality and food were brilliant cant recommed it enough we are looking at coming down again pretty soon so get ready wellington were coming to get ya .....

Went for lunch on a Monday in mid March and this is a real pub. We had Thatchers Gold cider and the food was good and reasonably priced. Thought the reception we got was great and so was the service. The pub does do real ale but did not have any, great place.

The fish is caught by the landlord and is totally fresh. Great value too. If you love real ales this is the place to visit.

Not boutique accomadation and a little tiered and dated in the decor. Shared bathroom facilities. However bedding clean, beds comfortable, secure parking off street, hosts very accomadating and provided a cooked breakfast at a time that suited my needs and taylored to my likes! Pub downstairs was handy for dinners, their is a lovely pub dog (boxer) who is very friendly and not at all a nuisance if you not fond of dogs. located on Wellington high street on the bus route for those without own transport, co-op, asda and morrisons within a block or two for incidentals. Blackdown hills and wellington monument 5/10 minute drive

Pub lunch - companions had fish and chips plus local bitter, I had ham, egg and chips. For a "fill me up" lunch it was fine but totally unspectacular. And very reasonably priced. Would I take anyone who I wanted to impress there for a dinner date? No. Never. Ever. Would I go there to "fill a hangover hole" and have a pint or two out of the rain in the warm. Yes.
