I can't think of 1 thing that is wrong with Poppy's.The food is well cooked ,well presented and delicious,The counter staff always have a welcoming smile are polite and well turned out, But the very best thing at Poppy's is by far the Bread pudding it is fantastic,Whenever I am near the tea room i always have 2 pieces of bread pudding to go .1 spiced & 1 normal .If you near it pop in and try for yourselves

Lovely golf course, challenging holes in great condition. Beautiful scenery enjoyed as we played. Golf pro very helpful and welcoming as were the members who seemed to know we were not locals. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Food tasted very nice but not as described on the menu. We ordered the posh kebabs but was more like a cold wrap but the menu says open flat bread. Atmosphere was fine and the service was good. Not sure if I would rush back.

Great place for lunch or a stop off for a drink and cake... definitely recommend the Dirsrt Draught cider and the Dorset apple cake, warmed with ice cream

This is no longer there!!!! We got very excited when it came up on our search but when we walked to it there was not even a trace this was ever there- super disappointed- it should not be showing as opened when it no longer exists

Fuimos aquí porque una de nuestras fiestas es sin gluten. No se explicó nada sobre cómo funciona allí, ¿te sientas y toman tu pedido o lo ordenas en el mostrador? Un simple aviso en la pared ayudaría. Los cuencos que teníamos estaban bien, nada maravilloso. ¡Los cuencos recién hechos llegaron casi más rápido que el té! Lo que más nos decepcionó fue el impactante servicio... Tardamos 25 minutos en conseguir 3 tazas de té y un vaso de agua (también tuvimos que recordarles sobre el agua una vez que el té finalmente llegó). Esto se debió a que el personal que trabajaba allí estaba demasiado ocupado hablando con sus amigos que habían venido a verlos para una charla y su café para llevar desde otro lugar. La conversación que tuvimos que escuchar no era apropiada con una cantidad de ‘f’ en la redacción también. Cuando de repente se dieron cuenta de que no habíamos tomado nuestro té, trajeron un brownie como “lo siento por la espera” porque habíamos esperado mucho tiempo. Quiero decir, deja de hablar inapropiadamente con tus amigos que vienen con su café comprado en otro lugar y hacen tu trabajo. ¿No es tan difícil verdad? 🤔

Muy caro... 7 libras por 2 tazas de té sintió mal. . . camarero barbudo podía verme claramente en apuros. . . . sólo ignoraba poco después colapsó con PROBLEMA CARDÍACO

Just cooked a cheese and onion pasty that I bought on our last visit in Newquay. The disappointment is massive as there was no detectable cheese in the pasty. Sadly have another one in the freezer. An awful lot of money paid for potato and onion. Definitely won't be back.

The Serenity Cafe provides a resource ( in theory) for those experiencing moderate to high functioning mental health issues. I had been encouraged to go to one of thier social evenings by my support worker. The evening was given over to inane games such as 'identify the sweet' and conducted in a way to discourage people interacting with each other or interacting with staff. The emphasis seemed to be getting the whole awful experience over and done with in the shortest time possible. An utterly abysmal experience devoid of imagination or value. I will go again to see if things have changed in any way and update. David.

Had a nice chat with the owner this morning, very nice bloke who runs a nice clean cafe with a 5 star food hygiene rating. We had a bacon roll each, I had a sausage in mine as well plus drinks and it was all very nice and at a reasonable price. Would come here again no problem.

Given the slope of the garden, and drinks food etc. having to be brought to the table (COVID rules) - the staff really must be very fit. Service good. Simple pub menu, and pub grub - but the fish and chips were amazing.

This pub is brilliant - the owners are so welcome and it has a great atmosphere. It is reasonably priced (we had a main meal for around £8 and a few drinks) and there is a good selection of food and drinks. It is everything a village pub should be and I’ll definitely be returning

Canadian women is amazing so friendly we didn’t get her name but give the women a pay rise ❤️ she was so friendly and approachable to all customers

Last year, whilst on holiday, we visited to have a look at the Weaver Green showroom, not realising there was this wonderful gem of a cafe on site. We had coffee and cake which was excellent and made a plan to return here for lunch at some point. Fast forward a year and we came back as a stop off on our way home. We had a lovely walk around the orchards with our dog, admiring the gorgeous views across the valley,and then returned to the cafe for lunch. As it was a gorgeous day we sat outside in their stunning garden, surrounded by roses, lupins and other beautiful cottage garden flowers The menu is fairly small but everything is freshly cooked. We chose Kedgeree, and Lamb Shish Kebab on herby couscous. Absolutely delicious - both dishes were zinging with flavour and perfectly seasoned. For drinks we tried their Heron Valley medium cider and a bottle of Devon Rock lager. Although pretty full, we decided to have pudding - Tirimisu and Lemon, Bergomot and Rhubarb Cake. I’m so glad we did as they were both sublime. We had eaten out every day of our holiday and this was the highlight of the week!. Not only was the food absolutely on point, but the front of house staff were great and the garden was beautiful. We had a little wander around the showroom before leaving to head home and could have been very tempted to buy a number of household items….if only we had room in our very full car! We will most definitely be back next year!

Great setting - we could watch the racing in the estuary and look out to sea. Went for drinks as we were staying with friends in the town, so had no parking problems. You need to sign in as a guest from another sailing club. The bar had a decent range of beers, and we noticed there was food available - so I had a delicious half-pint of prawns, and the others had whitebait and one had soup. Well-presented food. If there is any complaint it's that the menu is delivered from a database that can';t offer an order of bread. The bread with the soup was excellent, and we tried to order some more to go with the other food, and were told it was not possible. Looks like the machines are taking over!
