Salcombe Yacht Club in South Hams

Great setting - we could watch the racing in the estuary and look out to sea. Went for drinks as we were staying with friends in the town, so had no parking problems. You need to sign in as a guest from another sailing club. The bar had a decent range of beers, and we noticed there was food available - so I had a delicious half-pint of prawns, and the others had whitebait and one had soup. Well-presented food. If there is any complaint it's that the menu is delivered from a database that can';t offer an order of bread. The bread with the soup was excellent, and we tried to order some more to go with the other food, and were told it was not possible. Looks like the machines are taking over!

Great elevated location with views over estuary. If weather is good, there is usually seating on the terrace. We dropped in for lunch and were very happy with the food choices on offer. The staff were very helpful. Drinks / food was reasonably priced, helped by having a yacht club member in our group which gave us a 10% discount.

The SYC provided a great event for the RNVRYC. The Club was very welcoming with the bar staff on the ball and giving us a great start to the evening. The catering by Nick and and his team was first class with really excellent food, which looked and tasted good. First class evening and highly recommended. Fine dining at a very good price. All the staff were so enthusiastic and credit to the SYC.

Absolutely awful experience! Service shocking! Food well below standard. Forty five minutes to get a drinks order placed. A further ten minutes to get drinks. And then the order was wrong! Another fifteen minutes before someone took our food order and a another twenty minutes before it arrived. It was obvious that the organisation was in complete chaos. Looking around, it was clear that the place was filled by dissatisfied customers. Wonderful location but my best advice is don’t book for dinner!

Whilst its appreciated that the current circumstances are imposing difficulties on working right now if you are going to offer table service you will need more staff than just the two who were on the evening we visited. Shame it was a beautiful location that served the excellent local gin superbly, but only on the rare occasion you could get service!

Great place to meet friends sitting outside on the terrace in the sun. If you’re visiting Salcombe pop in for lunch or supper. The team led by Joules and backed by Shelley will look after you very well.

The best view in Salcombe! Gorgeous food and fabulous service! Try the Arancini salad - delightful. The team are absolutely lovely - nothing is too much trouble. Thanks for looking after us!

Having tasted a few fish and chips locally, these are by far the best - and the burger and platter were pretty amazing too. A wonderful location.

Had fantastic fish & chips overlooking river on a glorious evening. Just a magic evening with good service in a very friendly environment.
