I can't think of 1 thing that is wrong with Poppy's.The food is well cooked ,well presented and delicious,The counter staff always have a welcoming smile are polite and well turned out, But the very best thing at Poppy's is by far the Bread pudding it is fantastic,Whenever I am near the tea room i always have 2 pieces of bread pudding to go .1 spiced & 1 normal .If you near it pop in and try for yourselves

I have visited Poppy,s Tea room on several occasions and as yet I have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and reasonably priced. They present a large range of choice from sandwiches to jacket potatoes and lots of others. The food is not pre-prepared but freshly made. The staff are all very polite and the service is quite quick. The tea room is side of the nursery at Park Farm. It was Not noisy, very pleasant and will be going again.

It is a lovely cafe and although i had read the reviews posted on here particularly andy d's review i found that there were no such things such as picking of noses or other bodily areas and i think that if he actually got a job instead of looking out of a window all day and backstabbing his neighbours whilst watching jeremy kyle then he might find his life that much more enjoyable.

Very quiet and quaint old fashioned Tea Room where an excellent welcome awaits. The menu is varied with all the food being made in house. You also have the opportunity to take some excellent hand made cake away with you.

The staff don't ever wash their hands. The bloke stands in the front window picking his nose and eating it all day long. If he's not picking his nose he's scratching his head or beard.he's got his fingers in his mouth all day then when a customer comes into the shop he doesn't wash his hands before cooking for them. The old woman is just as bad. I.watched her biting her nails with her fingers buried in her mouth then she picked up some bread rolls in the front window with no gloves on.I see this happening every single day. Get some gloves and have a wash

I sometimes pop into this small traditional tea room for a snack or coffee and cake at lunch time and I really love it. I was surprised not to find it on tripadvisor so I decided to add it. This is a traditional, family-run tea shop in a parade of shops in the Chelston area of Torquay. It's in the part of Old Mill Lane where Cockington Primary school is. It has red table cloths, proper china and walls lined with interesting tea-pots. The menu has a good selection of sandwiches and snacks, things on toast and lovely homemade cakes and sundry other items. The prices are very good value- for example a couple of days ago I had a generous pot of tea for one, an individual homemade bacon and tomato quiche with salad garnish and a slice of homemade carrot cake- total £3.05. For 25p they sell the kind of little jam tarts your Grandma perhaps used to make, but there is usually chocolate cake, coffee and walnut cake, carrot cake and other old favourites. There is a magazine rack with a few magazines to browse while you are waiting.

This is still a decent value day out- but I have to say, standards have slipped a little and prices risen. The pool is fine- just that the smaller one is a bit colder than it used to for the family. The food is perfectly palatable but pretty ordinary. What I like least, however, is having to pay an extra £5 or whatever just to park (it used to be free)- which just adds to the money I'm already spending to support your business! Visitors tip here- I spotted 3 hour free parking over the road, so that could be used for part of the day to reduce the bill. I will probably be back, because it's still a decent rainy day out for the family and I love the sauna (which was out on our last visit). It's just that we used to get more value for our hard earned!

Living local to this pub is a nightmare. Loud music comes from the premises and goes on for hours. The noise was s so loud that it could be heard with the windows still closed. This has gone on unti after 11pm at times.

Midday on a Tuesday, only cricket on TV so very few people in and hence little atmosphere. Loaded potato skins were excellent also very little time to wait. I had to have my wine in a beer glass which was a little odd !! I think the restaurant upstairs need to leave them with wine glasses when it's closed !

Tasty food, lots of choice. Very attentive service from all staff. We went into the pub section after dinner and there was live music and a great atmosphere. We had the best time and would certainly come back again if we are near.
