The kids menu items were extremely basic, with mac and cheese not seeming to have ever seen a drop of cheese. The chicken nuggets consist of 3 nuggets. I had the aztec pizza which should be taken off the menu. It was a wet disgusting mess. The burger was dry. I can say the tapas was ok. If we'd been asked in the 2 hours there how the food was, we'd have said so but didn't see a single serving staff in that 2 hours.

Here for a day of dip and dining, swimming facilities were brilliant not an issue, however going for food after, all the staff had faces like smacked bottoms, not to mention a man named Matt with a blonde ponytail behind the bar making snide comments to us just because we didn’t know our table number. Will not be back to eat here again.

Service is lovely and the staff are allways friendly. Food is nice too. Lots of table space on most days. Lovely hot chocolates. My only issue is they need to move the disabled toilets just outside the entrance. It seems to only be used by people for number 2s and the smell often drifts through the bistro and its very off-putting. I would say the smell from that toilet can be smelt 50% of the time I visit. Apart from that I love it and it's great vibes 😌

Worth visiting always. Food could get more exciting but nothing wrong with it. I would like a Ned dish added to dip and dine. Vegetarian option. Wobbly table in bistro. But it doesn't matter if you love this place and I do. Cleanliness could improve in the steam room area. But again seems to serve well as used to do

Love Aztec's. Popped down for the "dip and dine" on a Sunday night. Good to find a place where all the facilities are open. Enjoyed the meal and they even catered for our dietary needs. I would definitely recommend Aztec's. The down side is the parking. They have a machine by the entrance. Which is obviously there to catch people out. Poor instructions and you can't pay cash. This would make me think twice about going again. If I do I will definitely be parking elsewhere.

Went to Dip 'n' Dine in school holidays. Paid & went in, pool was freezing!! When asked why was told the heater broke a week ago! Would have been nice to be told when paying as had a 2 year old with us, we'd have gone elsewhere. After 45 minutes trying to play we gave up. Went for our meal, inedible!! Chips cold & in a lump stuck together, coujons black & so dry you couldn't swallow them. Everyone was miserable & moaning, I'm not surprised. Lifts were broken! Soft play was rammed & filthy! Won't be going back.

Dropped in for a dip n dine session - no pre booking needed but this does mean you take a chance on how busy it might be. It was busy enough but not to affect our experience. We used the smaller pool area which has some shallower areas, warmish. This also included the sauna and the steam room. The changing rooms have big family rooms and on paying you are provided a padlock for the lockers. The dip and dine was £48 for two adults and two children. £15 per adult and £9 per child with £9 redeemable off food and drinks for adults and children £6. There is a basic menu and then one that costs a bit more. I opted for the more expensive cheese burger and my wife the chicken - well worth it good portion sizes. The same could be said for the kids meals and they can with a side of veg. Whilst awaiting for the food I took the kids to the soft play area - nice addition as part of the package! Only downside for me is the now chargeable parking via just park app £4.70 for our visit

As I am on a limited diet due to surgery I checked online there was suitable food, checked again on arrival ordered food. Actually not available. The only thing I could now have was soup with no bread. It arrived lukewarm and was disgusting. Several of my party tasted it and all agreed it tasted like shop bought pasta sauce. It was bitter, sour, very acidic and had a very strange texture. Worst soup I have ever seen or tasted. Sent it back and watched the other 10 people in my party eat their meals, most of which were just mediocre.

Im an o.a.p and my daughter asked if i could take her and grandchildren to the aztec for a swim in the half term break. when we arrived i saw the parking notice but my daughter said you didnt have to pay for going for a swim as she had been there before with her husband, but how wrong she was as i recieved a £100 pound penalty notice. i had to bite my tongue and pay a fine but do feel a bit bitter about it because i know you need to fine people as a deterrent but what they charge seems to be beyond a deterrent and a nice money making business or should i say not so nice money making business, which kind of reminds me of car wheel clamping. Also i feel that if your paying to use a hotels facility, i dont think you should be paying parking charges as well in there own car park, although i would have and wasnt deliberately trying to evade them. Have been to some places like brewers fayre in Bridgwater that take the parking charge off your food bill which is reasonable. but this feels like going to McDonalds and being asked to pay for parking while you eat your burger in one of there parking bays. Visited Aztec bistro several times during my 6 night stay at TLH.. have to say I’m mostly impressed with the food offering, quality of food and the good value of the drinks. Although I’d like to see the staff clean tables better, especially outside. They need to use sanitiser on the tables between guests and they need more cushions for the furniture. Equally the floor outside could do with regular sweeping. Where I sat on one visit there was ice cream and chips from a previous guest on the floor. Whilst most visits I just went for a drink.. on a few occasions I ate, The pizza was fantastic.. burger was also pretty good! 👍 Why close so early?

The Aztec has changed their menu and seem to have cut back on quality but not on price. Over £7 for a small basket of bread and no club sandwiches anymore, just lower cost options. My cheese sandwich had two square slices of processed cheese in it. Jackets potato fillings are poor. No baked bean option and you had to pay extra for coleslaw. Spag Bol for about 14 quid had no mushrooms or cheese with it. Such a shame as it used to be a nice place to visit

Came here as part of wocher deal which included afternoon tea. We called hotel a week before to inform them we were vegan. Was told it would be passed on to aztec bistro. On arrival, we knew it would happen, we were told they couldn't do a vegan tea which I understand. Francis told us to take our reserved seat and she would come over to us. Francis returned and offered us a 2 course meal from the resturant menu to compensate which was so unexpected. We were able to choose from a decent selection and was blown away with Francis and her amazing customer service. The meal was delicious. We did see the afternoon tea served to the couple next to us and it looked amazing, 3 tiers of yummies! On leaving resturant another young lady Ashleia approached us as she heard we had trouble getting a vegan breakfast at attached hotel. She said a member of staff had gone to reception and questioned why we weren't catered for. They were told they have to be requested 20 mins prior to service. We called hotel a week before but on our first breakfast was told vegan option not available. Thank you Francis & Aleishia for taking the time to understand. Top marks to you both.

We ate here three times on our stay at the adjacent Toorak Hotel on the TLH resort. There is no need to book in advance, which is convenient if you are a visitor and need somewhere to eat at short notice. They have a pub style menu. We found the burgers and the fish and chips especially fresh and tasty, although the fish was rather small.Prices are average for pub food. It is cheaper than eating in the Abbey Restaurant at the Toorak Hotel. We like the tropical theme decor inside with bamboo partions, and view of the Aztec indoor pool. There is plenty of seating outside with parasols and heat lamps. There was entertainment from a singer outside on a couple of nights we visited. Our only complaint is the bar closing at 11pm sharp, and all lights being turned out at 11.15. Having paid for drinks and being hotel customers we should at least be allowed to finish them in a lit room. And they should consider later opening of the bar at least on Fridays and Saturdays in the summer.

Really great to be able to visit the Bistro again. Fine weather too. You can tell that they have put alot of thought into the safety measures, service with social distancing that did not spoil the atmosphere but I felt comfortable knowing they had things in place that where clear, tables away from eachother and floor markings and screens up at the tills. The outside area has lovely new furniture. The childrens play areas outside are open, and the are handsaniting stations in the restaurant by lifts and at entrances. Mario and Anna were so welcoming. You can order at the bar and they bring your order to the table with a drop off table to ensure distance is maintain, at present they are operating a pay as you go service, which is understandable. I was staying at The Carlton, part of the TLH complex, and ventured into the Aztec Bistro on several occasions, for drinks and food.I have to say the service was excellent, with staff being extremely polite and friendly. They all wanted to ensure the guest experience was a positive one, and that they did very well indeed.Food from both the lunch and evening menus was very good. Not only did it look appetising, but the food was freshly cooked and well prepared.I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone, as it is a great choice of venue to eat.

After visiting the Aztec games area or a swim in one of the pools or even relaxing in the Jacuzzi the bistro is the ideal place to relax and wind down. It is open from 10 am to 11 pm. A varied menu of meals and snacks with views outside or over the indoor pool area.

We arrived at 7.30 and had to order our food at the bar and pay before eating. Whilst the food arrived fairly promptly I found the food uninspiring. The chicken burger was good but nothing spectacular. The side salad was just a bit of rocket and the coleslaw not good, whilst the chips were just warm. Having finished our meal we went to order puddings at 9pm to be told to 'wait a minute - I don't think we are taking any more orders'!). Fortunately we only wanted two puddings so they did them for us.

Had not long checked in to the Derwent but we decided to explore before dinner when we came across the bistro it looked like we had wondered in to a bar in Thailand but it was tastefully done. we decided to have a drink before dinner the food menu looked ok but as we were soon to have dinner we just had a drink. looking around there was seating outside on a big patio next to a swimming pool looking very inviting maybe next time as there was so much to do when we use the hotel as i am sure we will.

The ideal venue as my granddaughter has two children and in addition to the nice food and wine there is plenty to keep the ‘kids’ amused

First of all I start with the positive. The food was lovely that was it. However if you have autism or anxiety don't bother going in here. For me Iike going out to places and keep myself to myself. I will often wear my ear buds or headphones to shut myself off. Interacting with people can be difficult. Obviously I spoke to the lady on the counter who was nice to order food. That bit was fine. I then sat down to keep myself to myself. Fine brought the food put. That was fine. Like I said I then had my headphones on where I prefer not to be interrupted. That's my way of blocking things out. I should be allowed to do that. Not I need to explain this but due to my situation I hate people approaching me when I have something like headphones on. It should a sign or signal to say I don't want to talk at the moment. I hate being caught off guard. So one of the waitresses came over offered to take my plate. I said I'm still using it. I thought I would be left alone after that. Shortly after the "owner" came over and asked the same question. I explained I don't like to be interupted and I was trying to listen to my music. I just thought it would have been obvious I didn't want to talk. I prefer not being bombarded after I have already paid. The "owner" then sacarcastcally apologied "I'm sorry about that love" and said "go somewhere else if you don't like it" which is highly unprofessional. Well he bumped into the wrong person. All I was doing is minding my own business. I have had a lot of things to process and prefer to be quiet at times. As for the "owner" you need to be educated on people with behaviour challenges. Every day its a challenge for someone like me. I then went up to the counter to explain that I'm on the autism spectrum and that I wear headphones to block things out for then for the lady with glasses basically saying first of all its a cafe and a social thing so basically have to interact with people. I then reiterated that I don't have to interact with people and I have my headphones on to basically keep myself to myself. The lady then had the cheeke to turn round and say I didn't have proof like a landyard. Why should advertise who I am. You don't ask that sort of question. Its not my fault people like them aren't educated on hidden disorders. It doesn't surprise me that there is not enough emphasis on this still but it makes me angry! I will not be coming back until it changes hands. Shocking service.

This place is more like a social experience than a café, in keeping the ethos of it's charitable background. We were way out of season and it's fairly well off the main beaches in a bit of a cul de sac of the riviera seafront so we suspect it's all very different in the high season. On New Year's Eve it was more like being invited to a family and friends get together than walking into a commercial establishment - apart from the paying bit obviously, but even that wasn't too painful!

Lovely pub. Very friendly member of staff. Comfortable seating. Very clean toilets. Reasonably priced drinks. Sky sports on TV.

Lovely food for lunch. Was just very shocked when I took my 7 year anniversary of granddaughter to the loo… on the wall were 2 vending machines, both selling ‘sex toys’? I had to answer some questions from her. I do find it hard to understand why the need in a local pub which is geared towards family friendly as there are great outdoor games outside. Very worrying for our young people to think these items are ‘normal’

Certainly the best pub in central Torquay for quality and variety of beer, atmosphere and service. Live music on most nights from around 9pm is also of the highest quality. Far too easy to spend far too much time here... and I have
