Having enjoyed a wonderful lunch here on my birthday a few months ago, I decided to bring my sister here. Situated in a wonderful scenic valley; tastefully designed and furnished with the most amazing outdoor space; she was very impressed. It was not busy considering the glorious weather so we did not expect a long wait. Not too sure why -and never really received any explanation or apology- but we were still awaiting our meals after 50 minutes. Considering these consisted of a toasted sandwich and a bowl of soup we considered this to be a long time. The sandwich arrived overcooked/bordering burnt and was extremely dry with a tiny portion (maybe one tablespoon?) of green leaves. My sister's soup although tasty was lukewarm. We decided against trying the cakes even though they looked delicious because we didn't want yet another wait. Hopefully this was just a glitch and we will go back but there are many other popular cafes nearby in the meantime.

I went with a friend for lunch and neither of will go there for lunch again. The setting is lovely the serving staff helpful and pleasant but the food was not good at all. A dreary and unseasoned quiche and a tough pastel de nata. The cold drinks we ordered came with ice in them without reference to us and which neither of us wanted.... I may go there again for say an (ice free!) cold drink and perhaps take a risk on a cake. The setting is after all ls ovely.

I stopped by for lunch on 21st February and could not have been more impressed. The bacon and egg roll was to die for! Accompanied by the Lime and Ginger Fizz it was the perfect lunch in between business meetings. The cosy, warm and relaxed atmosphere meant I could have stayed for hours. Also, the textile shop was packed with interesting wares. I’m sure I’ll be back with my wife for another lunch and a proper look in the shop! 10/10.

A gorgeous location for coffee & cake and following a chilly walk, decided to take my dog inside. Found other dogs, on leashes under control apart from one…a small black poodle just wandering around off leash, under tables (disturbing my dog who was sitting nicely) and at some point headed through the kitchen door which was open! Owner completely oblivious and totally ignorant to the fact that this is not normal behaviour and made no attempt to contain it! I love the fact that these places are ‘dog friendly’ but there’s a code of conduct that should surely be enforced by the establishment. Not only annoying to others, but rather unhygienic!

A lovely location and as we expected it was very busy. We squeezed in ... and despite being packed the staff served us quickly and cheerfully. Can thoroughly recommend this place for lunch. The food was piping hot and very tasty. Generally a convivial atmosphere.

This place was recommended by dear friends, and we arranged to met our other friends there today. Just parking the car it looked so inviting, even on a windy wet day. Walking inside the door it was buzzing with a pretty full house. Thankfully we found a spot for four on squirrel 🐿️ table. A fire was roaring with sofas to lounge on. A varied small menu, and such happy go lucky staff especially at the order counter. So much so we kept ordering, and to be honest didn’t want to leave. We ordered eggs Royal, and egg and bacon baps, washed down with nice and hot lattes. Mince pies, carrot cake and pistachio panettone followed with more lattes served by the delightful Ollie. He was helping out due to staff sickness. Such a polite, smiley enthusiastic young boy. Every inch of this place has a warm and welcoming feeling. It’s clean, tidy and Christmas songs playing, it’s just a great place to visit and re-visit.

Very disappointed to discover that although website (and sign) says the cafe is open until 5pm the kitchen shuts at 3pm. Looks beautiful, such a shame that we weren’t able to stay and enjoy it!

Stopped here for brunch and to pick up some bottles of their apple juice and cider after having it in a local pub. It’s a small menu of freshly cooked meals using very local ingredients. The wild mushrooms on toast with a fried egg was exceptional, and the bacon rolls were superb. Staff could not be friendlier, actually caring about what they sell. We’ll be back!

A delightful cafe and shop with stunning views over the valley and the orchards. Our brunch was freshly cooked and served by friendly and helpful staff. The coffee was vey good indeed (I’m a bit of a coffee aficionado) and the atmosphere was lovely. As for the shop… let’s just say I almost had to drag my wife away from the clothing and soft furnishings they have here, Very highly recommended and we look forward to returning for lunch.

We did their Easter egg hunt with two other families. It’s a great set up with beautifully drawn clues and a lovely prize at the end. Spent a couple of hours after in the cafe garden whilst the kids did colouring and ran around the orchard in the sunshine. Food and drinks are excellent. And there’s always a roaring fire inside for the colder wetter days.

Booked before we came on holiday and started to feel a bit nervous as some reviews mentioned they weren't very welcoming to tourists, well I don't know where they were but not here for sure. Had the warmest welcome from the start, staff were lovely and food exactly what we hoped for, Sunday Roast was perfect. Tender pork, crispiest roast potatoes ever, tons of tasty gravy and cauliflower cheese that actually tasted of cheese! Loved it all and somehow found room for the dark chocolate tart with raspberry sorbet WOW!

Not a fan of the service I found the lady be very flippant in her responses, coffee isn’t made correctly either lack of knowledge or undue care, pricing isn’t fair to the customer (same amount of coffee in regular and large you pay 30p for more water if you bring your own cup) won’t be returning, hope they manage to get it right

Went for lunch which was overpriced for what it was. Husbands chair was over a significant drain hole which his chair leg fell down and dislocated his finger. The problem is a, the hole pit is not covered. B, after staff notified nothing was done and didn’t seem to care or react in any way. Many older people with aides there and can do some serious damage hence the review.

I agree with alot of the negative reviews. I have gone to the cafe for about 20 years and it has so gone downhill. Staff generally are not customer focussed and friendly and take customers for granted. They are inattentive and slow. They are not doing us a favour attending, we are the customers. There are plenty of other places where people ear and you are loosing custom.
