Food tasted very nice but not as described on the menu. We ordered the posh kebabs but was more like a cold wrap but the menu says open flat bread. Atmosphere was fine and the service was good. Not sure if I would rush back.

What an amazing night out we had here. Nothing is too much trouble. Hosts are attentive with attention to detail on presentation of food and drinks. Really tasty roasts. So rare to find such a team of people who enjoy what they do and take pride in doing everything so well. You're so well looked after here with good background music, rustic nooks and lovely layout for dining. Informal, cosy, but lively and made to feel special. I rarely write reviews but felt this is a much deserved bit of praise for this place as most bars in cornwall make me resent handing my money over by the end of the night due ot poor service or food. Keep going guys this is what its all about and why i'm sure anyone who tries here will return. Best place in Truro by miles and thery catered for our large group of 30 effortlessly with every meal cooked and presented to perfection with good portion sizes. They were full of customers this night but you wouldn't have known it at all for our experience.

Having just moved to the area we were delighted to have found this place. Such a cosy bar with friendly staff, and a great drinks selection. What really blew us away though were the posh kebabs, just wow! I had the chicken one and my partner had the steak, the flavour in both was amazing. Good portion sizes, really nice chunky wedges and my partner loved the dirty fries. No doubt we will be back soon

So the usual Sunday search for a decent roast and today we finally found it. Absolutely excellent. Great selection of veg on your plate in a good portion. Not unnecessarily fancy and a reasonable price. Great service too, will definitely be back.

Went with my sister for a glass of wine and some nibbles before a show. We had Sauvignon blanc which was a good quality wine and I had Dirty fries and they were awesome. My sister had fries and wished she’d had them dirty 🙄. We had 2 dishes each and a glass of wine and it was under £20 Each which I thought was very good value for money. Nice venue, quiet but it was 5pm and obviously a few locals drinking. Nice friendly staff. Will be back again

Visiting from Coventry me and my fiancé were looking for a quick lunch after shopping and stumbled across this little bar! What a find the food was amazing the posh steak kebab was to die for! The younge lad behind the bar worked his socks off and clearly the chef working on his own was aswell! Definitely recommend!

Lovely tasty lunch. Good selection of dishes and big potions, too big for me, especially the potato wedges. Nice conservatory to sit in. The bar area felt too dark to eat lunch in.

Went to eat and try cocktails quite looking forward to it. But alas firstly waitress came over to tell us a booking will order soon so get order in quick! We were then told all they did not have on menu (the place was empty)? Waitress then tells us we will have to wait as the large order was in (they had just walked through the door not even seated) she returns oppologises and asks for order. We asked for the highly claimed burgers which are 2 for 1 on Thursdays. Waitress comes back from kitchen says no we will have to pay for all burgers then final insult as leaving premises feeling annoyed try to pay for the drinks on tab, bill was high as food order had been added it was then rounded down to £10 for 2 pints! We went around the corner to another restaurant and had a lovely meal.

My partner and I went into town for dinner on Friday night. We hadn’t booked anywhere so decided to try Bear Bar as it is new and we had heard good things. When we arrived the bar was busy but there were plenty of tables available in the back for food. We stood by the entrance for a while looking for someone to ask or a sign that said if we should seat ourselves or wait. As we could see neither we sat down to look at the menu. After about 10 minutes a waitress came over and asked if we were eating. When we said yes she said it was bookings only and they weren’t serving any other food. This seemed strange as there were only about 4 other tables occupied and none of the empty tables said reserved. For a new business I would have expected them to want as much new custom as they could get. It would also have been a good idea to have a sign up informing customers before they come in that this was the case. It’s a shame as we were looking forward to trying their food but won’t be returning in a hurry.

great to see a pub with two imported lagers, both good value. Chicken was huge serving, perfectly cooked, very large serving, much better than normal pub grub. So much on menu to try will have to revisit soon. Food was so good i sought out the chef Chris to say thankyou. note address on this is wrong, it is 200 yards from lowen court

Came here for dinner and drinks on Wednesday night. Loads of vegan and veggie options for mains, but a bit less for starters. Would have loved to have seen vegan nachos - which they did indeed have as a main - on the starters list too. Or maybe some cauliflower wings or something. Both my husband and I had the posh kebabs (mine jackfruit, his chicken) and we enjoyed them, but they were a bit difficult to eat. The flatbread was difficult to cut with the knives provided and kept sliding round our plates and annoying us. However both our meals were tasty enough that it didn't matter too much and we would come back to try other dishes. Drinks were well made and staff were friendly but not over attentive (which is perfect for me) and we ended up staying till late. There was an open mic session going on which drew quite a crowd. Prices are a bit higher than other places in Truro, but for a girls night out or a semi casual date I would definitely recommend this place.

We were told the food was excellent and we were not disappointed. Lovely atmosphere too. The lunchtime menu set at £10 with main course and a drink (see photo) is great value for money. The food was so tasty and freshly prepared. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Fantastic service, thank you. We can’t wait to return.

A new bar and kitchen in Truro. Really friendly and welcoming management. Great food, reasonably priced. Ideal for shopping day lunch or a visit in the evening.

Close to the beach but wildly overpriced for really basic fare and their “artisan gelato” is disgusting. We tried three flavours and they were all terrible, but the chocolate was so atrocious we couldn’t finish it. Ask yourself when the last time you didn’t finish an ice cream was!

On holiday for a week and we visited 3 times. First time was for a drink only, second for an evening meal and thenthirdnfir Sunday lunch. On all occasions, service was friendly, attentive (without being in your face or false) and courteous. Our evening meal was a beautiful piece of grilled haddock in a very tasty sauce with vegetables and potatoes. We also ordered a side of truffled mac n cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Sunday lunch was probably the best I've ever eaten as a pub dining experience and I've eaten a fair few in my 59 years. We opted for the 3 meat version of beef, pork and turkey. The vegetable selection was interesting and perfectly cooked. The giant yorkshire pudding was delicious but for me, the roast potatoes and gravy were the jewels in the very large crown. There was no room for pudding but on our evening visit, we did share the amaretto chocolate torte, which was fantastic 😀. For the quality and portion sizes, I would say The Pityme Inn is excellent value for money.

Tasty - stopped in to grab a takeaway sausage roll and iced bun. Sausage roll was excellent and will be returning! Coffee was also good. Easy free car parking outside.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.
