Wow. A gloriously well planned, organised and staffed restaurant and cafe with farm shop. Listen! You can take your kids and eat and they can play in the playground while you get to have a conversation and enjoy yummy food. Smart. We happily spent the afternoon and went for a short walk down the country path to try to tire the kids out even more. And oh my goodness! Just circling back, the CAKES!! For the love of cake you’ve got to go, sooo good.

Been coming here for couple of years now and it's quite a drive for us as live near ashburton but always found it to be great value for money and delish. Today we were quite shocked at 16.95 for full english but worse still 7.50 for a pot of earl grey tea between 2 of us we thought that was not value for money. Breakfast had one egg not 2 as per menu,no hogs pudding and no white bread. The bread was replaced with granary but no mention of hogs being replaced by black pudding which we dont like. Over 40 pounds for 2 teas and a breakfast each which were not as advertised we thought wasnt good value. What we had was excellent but guys come on pot of tea 7.50.

TPP has always been a favourite place for a relaxed business meeting or a social catch up with its beautiful view and wonderful staff. We were served excellently by Abbey and Sophie on our latest visit but TPP has begun to be complacent with its menu being quite pricy and unimaginative and the new queue up to order and pay a real backward step for customers. I hope the owners will see sense and reverse this decision. Staff and view - 5/5 Menu & ordering system - 2/5

We’ve been coming here since it opened a few years ago. I love the atmosphere and the staff are always pleasant. We’ve been this morning and the price for breakfast is criminal. £16.95 for a full English in my book, is just ridiculous. I understand prices go up, but the price has increased so much it’s crazy. Unfortunately, this has really put us off today as I feel management/owners have got greedy.

Although there was nothing inviting at the shop front from the car park it was nice inside. Good coffee and the staff were lovely. Had a long chat with the butcher who was passionate about local provenance. He was a thoroughly nice guy. Could probably do with some signage to tell your story of where the meat comes from, especially at a time when we need to champion our farmers. A lovely experience. Staff are to be congratulated as their happy vibe certainly rubbed off

The place is lovely, our server Ian couldn't have been more helpful all the staff seemed lovely and helpful, But yet again, the food prices were steep for what you got. Also, like most of these places, there is no plain food on the menu for people who have allergies, which is the letdown as one of our party couldn't eat anything on the menu apart from the frozen chips.

Our Sunday dinner was succulent beef, homemade Yorkshire Pudding, carrot, crispy and fluffy roast potatoes, roast parsnip, braised red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and gravy. We couldn't fit desert in but, they looked stunning. The venue is well spread out and very clean. Will definitely come again. Thank you for a lovely experience. The setting and ambience at Tre Pol & Pen is very good, the restaurant was very well covered with natural light, tables were laid in a way there was and is plenty of room to move around and you were not about privacy as the tables were far enough apart so other conversations could not be easily shared/heard. The meal took over 40 minutes to arrive and although was plentiful the meat however was a little too stringy and was not easily cut therefore not fully enjoyed. Overall the roast was fairly enjoyable.

I think the owners need to have a word with the head chef the place was empty for a Sunday for a farm shop restaurant I don't think I will return on a Sunday surly customer numbers are down it's a shame as it's a lovely place but you can get better meals elsewhere. Worst meal I've had! Roast beef was not a roast dinner, came with carrot, broccoli and a courgette! Awful sauce as they said it went with a summer roast, asked for gravy and told there was no gravy today! Which is probably why the place was three quarters empty. Used to be a fabulous Sunday lunch but the so called summer menu is rubbish. We stopped here for lunch having previously had coffee and cake. The menu seems to focus on quite expensive lunches and the choice of under £10 lunches is very limited, especially when one option has sold at just after 12.00. I opted for a fishfinger sandwich and my husband had the focaccia with pork. My sandwich was pretty average and I’d have been much happier with nice shop bought Fishfingers as the deep fried fishy goujons were quite greasy. I’d have liked chunky hand cut bread not thin sliced white. It was OK but could have been better. My husband said his focaccia was cold and the meat very chewy, not inedible but could have been much nicer. No one asked us how our food was until we went to pay. I’d recommend for coffee and cake but not lunch and think they’d be better focussing on sandwiches, baked potatoes and things which they can do well. I’m a bit perplexed why they have a cocktail and wine list, surely no one goes there for cocktails..?? The restaurant atmosphere is like a motorway service station which I don’t think is the look or feel they were going for. Plenty of room for improvement. On the plus side it is clean and there’s lots of free parking.

This looks amazing from the outside, I really do love the look, very inviting from the road. We haven't used the cafe so can't comment on that, always nipped in for bread which is really nice, tasty and quite reasonable, along with the quiche, we bought the whole one and again really reasonable and fed 12 of us with generous slices! The scotch eggs are really nice too, now I don't normally like these and I have only ever had supermarket scotch eggs so there is no wonder I don't like them! These are just full of meat and the egg doesn't rattle inside! So delicious with a bit of chutney and a slice of quiche! I have nothing to complain about and I would suggest you go see for yourselves rather than just reading the negative comments and deciding it is a no go.

We went here for Sunday roast after hearing how good the food was. Whilst the food we were served was really lovely, we were so disappointed in the portion size for what we paid. Most of our party were vegan & we were excited when we saw a vegan roast was available, however when it came we realised we were paying the same price for our food as others at the table but minus the Yorkshire pudding & cauliflower cheese with nothing else to replace it. The veggie main was roasted butternut squash, which again whilst it was nice, it was very simply a piece of plain roasted butternut squash- something that is very cheap & easy to make. Ovbiously meat is going to cost much more to serve than a small piece of butternut squash, so I was really disappointed that the food was the same price especially given we then also had nothing extra on the plate to replace the omitted items. When we ordered we expected that obviously the non vegan items would be removed from the dish, but that they’d be replaced with either extra of the other things or vegan versions of those items. Definitely would not recommend for vegans (or anyone who would ask for the dish without items as they won’t be replaced with something else, or anyone ordering a meat roast who enjoys a hearty portion!) - basically paid £15.95 for 3 roast potatoes & a handful of plain roasted vegetables…we came home & ate again straight away as we were all starving!

Others who sat down long after us had finished and left by the time we were finally served. We complained and were offered complimentary coffees but that would have added to waiting time so we refused. Our choices weren’t available either. Not the waiting staffs fault, they were great. Stopped by for coffee. We wanted to see if things have got any better. It’s a great looking place from the outside but when you get in it has the appearance of the sort of works canteen you’d find in a tech hub. Three serried ranks of tables and chairs may make the passage of staff efficient (although as you will see in other reviews, often not that efficient), but offer neither a sense of warmth or personality. They’ve made an effort in one corner with a sofa or two, but that’s it. So, tip number one. Break up the flow, guys. And then of course there is the dog fatwa. Assuming it’s not raining (so maybe for four months a year then) pooches are welcome to stay outside, but are not allowed anywhere in the building at any time. Why? These days it’s just bad business. They’re going to hate this next bit but the owners and management should take a look at The Weir in Bude. Very similar sort of set-up, but wholly different vibe.

Totally great for what it is! It's a members club with a slightly excited barman but does what it says on the tin! Was made better by the company of the locals. 3.5/5

I've been to the Fountain a couple of times over the years when I've been down in Cornwall on holiday. It really is a lovely quintessential fishing village pub with low beams (beware!) and a decent selection of St Austell Ales. We ate for the first on our last visit, and although the prices are not cheap (not expensive either but about the same as I'd pay back in Surrey), the portions are enormous! Between us we had homemade lasagne (x2), a burger, and I had Fowey mussels and chips. Everyone was very happy with their meals. The landlady was very cheerful, helpful and relaxed, especially considering how busy it was when we there. I look forward to another pint of Mena Dhu next time I'm down 😊

We just had a fish pie & a classic burger for dinner. Food was super scrummy with the fish pie being outstanding. Highly recommend, and very quick service.
