The Serenity Cafe provides a resource ( in theory) for those experiencing moderate to high functioning mental health issues. I had been encouraged to go to one of thier social evenings by my support worker. The evening was given over to inane games such as 'identify the sweet' and conducted in a way to discourage people interacting with each other or interacting with staff. The emphasis seemed to be getting the whole awful experience over and done with in the shortest time possible. An utterly abysmal experience devoid of imagination or value. I will go again to see if things have changed in any way and update. David.

Serenity’s is a local community cafe in Upper Parkstone, between Bournemouth and Poole. All their profits are ploughed back in to the charities they support, including addiction. It’s a family and dog friendly place, with a very positive atmosphere - - and excellent food, both hot and cold (their eggy-bread with bacon & tomato is simply superb - and there are the usual veggie options too. There are even a couple of pc’s available for public use - so you have the benefits of an Internet cafe, with much better catering..! All in all, a great place to stop (on street parking outside) for breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea - until 4:00 pm.

Excellent food. The service was great and the personnel brilliant. They accommodated us 8 on a lovely table and it was a super afyernoon. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making my birthday tea special.

Brilliant little place with lovely food and relaxing atmosphere. Great prices and upon all this the ethics behind the cafe are outstanding. Will definitely return when in the area. Thank you!! Keep up the good work. :)

True to its name, the decor and vibe here are cool and calm. However, having waited more than 20 minutes for cold drink, and more than 30 for sandwiches, I'm afraid we were feeling anything but serene by the time we left! Staff didn't seem to know what they were doing and, despite telling us they were 'very busy' they didn't show any sense of urgency. Maybe too relaxed? To be fair, the food was fine when it did arrive and portions were generous.

Twenty minute wait for a couple of drinks which wasn’t what I ordered, but weather too warm to have a moan about it, and a cake, not that busy either. Pleasant enough surroundings but wouldn’t return tbh.

My mum and I stopped for a late lunch after spotting the clean looking outside of the cafe and the handy parking right in front. I had a smoked salmon salad, served with lime mayo and slices of bread, along with a berry smoothy, whilst mum had a bacon & chicken club sandwich. Both were freshly made, incredibly tasty and HUGE! We'll definitely pop back.

Been a couple of times, especially on cold rainy days. Interesting place to walk round for a couple of hours. And it’s free.

Visited for Sunday lunch recently and what can I say the food was excellent as was the service. Very welcoming, great atmosphere and what we all liked was that we did not feel rushed. We will be going back and think of booking for my 60th later on in the year.

Went to Neros for coffee on Good Friday at 10.15am. Young girls working behind the counter need to pay more attention to customer care and engage with customers immediately when customers approach the counter instead of carrying on with their own private conversations and only paying the customer attention when they have finished talking and at their own convenience.

Took ages for someone to appear behind bar. Beer we had was not good, needed barrel changing.
