Was in parkstone shopping fancied a quick drink so popped into this pub. Landlady very friendly and couldn't do enough for me. Just there for about an hour but made feel welcome. Just had crisps and a j20. Sky sports on so that was a bonus. Will be back.

Fantastic pub had a great experience in here made you feel very welcome really good staff and very friendly. It was a good atmosphere with irregulars we paid a bit of pool and had a few drinks. Great variety of drinks. Really enjoyed it and will definitely come again.

Booked a table at the Victoria Cross for my partners birthday the food was great it came out piping hot and presented well. lots of variety on the menu to choose from. Upon arrival the Staff were polite and friendly. The pub itself was very clean.Will definitely be back.

It's a really nice place to work and the landlady and landlord is amazing to work with and you can talk to them about anything and they will listen to you and it is a really friendly and family pub and they took me in a made me welcome I really enjoy working here

Great place to go to have a couple pints or even a night out with friends/partner or even a meal with the family. Great events like live music🎶, karaoke, quizes and even card bingo.Food is delicious, staff are friendly and the environment is always clean and spacious. Definitely will be going again. The pub has good landlords who will cater to your needs the best pub down ashley Cross unfortunately no food but for atmosphere and service a high quality pub that is catered to most. A genuinely good experience to have a quality couple of pints at 10/10 would recommend.

Lovely, friendly, family run pub. Food is lovely and good value. Also quite a bit of entertainment throughout the week. It is nice to have 'a local' near to home (becoming a rarity). Great for lunch if you are on your own or with friends.

Popped in for a drink hoping to get some food… but too late. The landlord Ray was brilliant.. advised us to use the Indian next door for takeaway. After a couple of drinks he then gave us a free drink and brought some treats for our dog. Lovely establishment and very welcoming. Highly recommend.

Lovely staff, great service, a pool table which is only ever busy at weekends, jukebox (with a surprisingly wide and varied selection of music!), dartboard, beer garden and great food - I eat lunch there often. Highly recommend the Hunters Chicken Melt Baguette! Has been my local a few years now (since the Seaview got turned into a Co-op…) and has everything you could want from a proper pub. Highly recommend!

I walked into pub and got thrown out because someone had called the Victoria saying I'd been sat with someone who tested positive for covid. Unknowingly I stayed in for 3 days then got told about Covid. I got tested which was negative. Had I self isolated the day I went into the Victoria was day 11. So out of order. Then I was barred because someone called the brewery, however it was NOT me. But I'm NOT allowed to explain. You will get barred from this pub if you FART in the wrong note.

We are on a weekend break, because we can now! We were recommended to go to the Victoria Cross pub in Ashley Rd, Poole. Bar man Lee was brilliant, on ordering the first drink he was such a people person, interacting with us and made us feel very welcome. Lee remembered what drinks we had when we went to re order! Fantastic garden too. Thanks Lee for making our weekend.

I work in the care industry, and have taken one of my residents here in several occasions, and the staff have always been friendly and understanding, such a lovely atmosphere.

Barred for standing up against homophobic bar staff and customers. Also accused by the bar staff of bringing in underaged drinkers and causing “chaos” for sitting at a table in the bar garden enjoying a drink with a group of friends. Wouldn’t go back even if I wasn’t barred.

No social distancing, rude staff , lots of noise and swearing. Beer garden is ok but not practical as people in and out like yo yos. No clear markings on floor or doors. No one using anti-bac and no ensuring track and trace unlike other pubs in area. Just one member of staff to ensure guidelines being stuck to. Was going to have a meal but changed minds. Avoid if my answer til the pandemic is over as this is just the place which will cause a local spike in cases.

Really good value and delicious lunch and pudding. As a break from shopping on Ashley Road we decided to try the Victoria. We enjoyed freshly fried fish and chips with mushy peas. 3 pork sausages and homemade mashed potato peas and plenty of gravy were very tasty. Both £4.15 on the Monday to Friday lunchtime menu (12 to 5pm) Order at the same time and you can have a pudding for £1.50. I definitely recommend the traditional homecooked apple pie and custard! Friendly personal service from the bartender and Dan the new chef. Looking forward to visiting again soon 👍

The food is excellent value for money and service is good. The entertainment is excellent and regular (always busy) The staff are great, like any busy pub you might have a short wait but it's worth it when you're greeted with a smile! Though there may have been problems in the past, these are now log gone and it's back to being a fun place to be! Well done Michelle and Ray, you are doing good guys! Thank you x.

Food was to a high quality, cooked to perfection I ate a cowboy burger only thing it needed adding is side salad, pint of strongbow cost £3 burger was 6.75 Definitely recommend, the staff are awesome n friendly.Weekends here are imense and alight with live bands and cheap drinksThank me later

Local band The Scanners playing great music, good drinks and food. Visiting a boaring town, not that boaring at all!

I used to like the VC but sadly its going down hill and has been for months. Went for a drink and food at the weekend many locals were drunk loud and I believe taking other substances. Barmaid on duty was slow and not paying attention to customers had to wait to be served. My partner went to the gents loo and clear evidence of small bags having been left in the toilet cubicle. Food well its not a home cooked roast hard veg, ready made yorkshire pudding and frozen spuds. Come on everyone this used to be a great place to go sort it out and get rid of the people who are bringing it down.

Amazing staff (David and Jamie are lovely!) and Mich has made the place feel really welcoming. However the treatment of staff by the landlady/landlord is appalling as I have seen on previous visits to the pub. So glad Mich has come back to the pub as I have seen a massive impovement to the establishment and I’m sure many people agree with me on this.

went for Christmas day dinner no stuffing roasties hadn't seen a roasting tin turkey was like rubber and a big dollop of cranberry sauce in the middle of the dinner being 72 years of age I have eaten quite a few Christmas dinners out and this was the worst one I have ever had

2 star for the young boy who is polite and trying doing good job and running like chicken! 1star for pint off stella but not for girl what served it(feeling unwelcome) Roast dinner it was bad cold veg and meat. The beef was over cook, potatoes no flavor. Big + for bechamel on over cook cauliflower. Wait for roast circa 20 min come cold I send back and come after 15s little bit worm. Cheap roast just for £5,25 but maybe I didn't has lucky day for food this time

This pub has gone from mananger to manager and it goes good to bad. We have seen many people come in and out of this pub and some i can say im glad some have gone but its a real shame you let tammie go she made that place into somewhere i was proud to go and to call my local and she had a daughter who was spot on who helped her mum out them two together would make a wicked pub. Molly has the lot and can take anything thats thrown at her she was born to work in the pub trade just like her mum. Was gutted that they had to go and the pub just hasnt been the same. BRING THEM BACK!!!!!

Reviews on web sites are out of date. Management has changed. Food definitely not home cooked - now from frozen. . Vegetables cold. So called roast potatoes very chewy. Yorkshire pudding uneatable. Certainly not going back

So the The Victoria cross now known as the "VICTORIA" has changed hands for the 3rd time in a year. The service is worse than before half the time certain beers have run out or there is a problem with the barrel. It was recently closed for a refurb which was just a paint job in reality as the toilets may have had a new floor and new paint job but the toilets and washbasins are still the orginal ones and have not even been cleaned and one in the ladies struggles to flush. The carpet again new looks like it hasnt been hoovered as bits all over it and the flooring round the pool table had not been mopped as you could see sticky beer spills from the night before.

Thought as my last review was given a reply by the manager I would give this place another go as they would bang on about it being a new business ( not really pub has been there since the 80's) and they had started food. Place was still pretty empty specially as this was a Saturday! Was going to order food but for some reason they only serve 12-3 on weekends which seems very unbusiness like considering more people are likely to eat out on the weekend. On entering the pub I was overcome by the stench of what I can only descirbe as burning oil which needed changing. So my freinds and I retreated to the back where the pool table is and near the door to escape the smell and I did overhear people outside also complaining about the smell which was in the main bar area. The New Manager does not seem to want certain clientel in her pub as the slightest noise she gives you a look of distaste and as for cheering when your team score, well dont as you will get an even worse stare or even tutted at. And as for the outside advertsing thats not even correct. Big signs on the pub say food served 12-9 daily a tiny blackboard in corner window states different and also says they have Sky sports which I then found out they dont, I am sure they will blame this on being new sorry no excuse you took over in Nov 16 plenty of time to correct the signs. Sorry but unless Marstons change the present team I wont be back as this team just dont work if you want a posh wine bar come bistro go get a place in Ashley Cross or Sandbanks this is Ashley road pubs for working people who just want a pint snack and watch the sport !

Excellent roast dinner on Sunday at the Victoria Cross would thoroughly recommend a visit. Here again on Friday night and the atmosphere is brilliant great singer and a lots of customers, and friendly staff A1.

Come in and within the first 5 minutes we decided to start a game of pool. A lovely member of staff (a young gent with short blonde hair) asked us for ID which we provided to him no problem. After he left a rude lady who I assume to be the manager comes over and tells us we can't use the pool table that we paid to use until we have got some drinks. One of our group was in the toilet so we waited until she came back to order drinks. Just as my friend was coming back the lady approached us again in an unbelievably aggressive manner, began picking the balls up off the pool table and told us to buy drinks or leave. At this point we were furious, we didn't even get to finish our game of pool, so I asked for our money back which was given back to us with a horrific attitude. I don't understand how anyone is still drinking there with a staff member like that.

Bom lugar para assistir jogos de qualquer tipo. Tem um bom bar mas não tem uma boa cozinha. Para beber cerveja de boa qualidade, o Victoria Cross não deixa a desejar. Já frequento há dez anos e nunca me arrependi.

I had my birthday party in the Victoria Cross and tammie and Jason and all the bar staff were amazing..... the food buffet was prepared for us and there was lots of it too and it was lovely all my friends and family had a really great evening. The pub had a live band playing and was very busy I would definitely recommend this pub.
