This place is a hidden gem. Good old proper pub/ restaurant. Owners so very friendly , the food amazing. All meat and vegetables are locally sourced.we both had the stake and ale pie which was amazing, the meat was so tender and homemade pastry top class, this came with a dish of veg, consisting of broccoli cauliflower carrots and leeks, all cooked perfectly. It was served with a choice of new potatoes or home made chips, and was also presented with a big jug of homemade gravy. The service was perfect ,genuine kind lovely people. Beautiful village between Northampton and Newport Pagnell. Also dropped by last year for a Sunday dinner which was also fab. So nice to be able to gout out for such fresh wholesome food. We will be back

This place really is up there as one of the nicest pubs in Deal, a perfect all-rounder. Traditional and welcoming, you can find yourself a nice cosy table or stand at the bar for a chat. Good selection of drinks and lovely food. Off the beaten track, so not overcrowded; really worth a visit!

We hadn't eaten in the Fox and Hounds for a couple of years as our last experience wasn't great. I am pleased to say we gave it another go. They even did their set menu on a Bank Holiday Monday. We all had 3 courses and all were very good. Delicious home made soup, 3 different main courses and treacle tart and sticky toffee pudding. However without doubt the stand out dish was the caprese salad. It was soooo good! Also a massive shout out to Rebecca, a true hospitality professional and a credit to the Fox and Hounds. We will be back 🙂

Nice historic pub with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Good portion sizes and service, with multiple vegetarian options available. Free Car park available in the back. Adequate toilets. Recommend prebooking during busy times as most tables are reserved when we were there.

Very average meal - at all but certainly for the price. The 'pepper gravy/sauce' was some dish water like substance, quite literally the consistency of water & brownish. The chips were tasteless fake potato. The steak was ok. The rest not worth even mentioning. Curt 'service', and a stodgy, dull, old hospital sort of vibe. Toilets were clean though. Not worth visiting unless really desperate.

I arranged a surprise party for my husband in the function room upstairs. The staff were amazing at arranging everything on the quiet and the buffet food was absolutely delicious. The disco they suggested was good too. A great venue and if you are thinking about doing something similar I can highly recommend the lamb .

We went to the George and Dragon as a family member ate there at Christmas and was impressed. Sadly we were disappointed. We were advised on the day that the restaurant was closed (due to lack of bookings and shortage of waiting staff) but we were happy to eat in the bar area. Tanya (manager) was very helpful but the food was average at best and not as described on the menu. Reheated veg and mash, overcooked chicken (and little of it) on the skewer and small pieces of meat in the pie. I am not sure this food was cooked by a qualified or experienced chef given its quality and presentation. Each dish was in the region of £18 (plus service charge) so nearly £20 which it was not worth. We understand that a new chef is starting soon so there may be an improvement but we are unlikely to try it again.

Came for a beer everywhere full with dinners You would think they could cater for both sat outside in the rain watched a number of people including two older gentlemen on a tandem with visual impairment arrive and be rejected just because they only wanted a drink not sure you can call it a pub maybe a restaurant
