It is open for breakfast for Premier Inn guests. Whilst you can order as much as you want, the portion sizes are smaller, especially the sausages. The cappuchino coffee was not good and for some reason a member of staff was photographing the label on the milk before putting the milk into the machine. Staff were helpful, but unless you want to simply fill yourself up for the day, I would look elsewhere. Poor value.

The Beefeater is no more. Probably no great loss but we were hoping to get breakfast whilst staying at the adjacent Premier Inn. No mention of this from Premier Inn when booking just one week beforehand, but that's another story, one of several. Premier let themselves down, their customers down but more importantly, in my view, their staff down. They have to deal with all the flack from disgruntled customers. Signs in reception saying 'respect our staff ' , when Premier Inn's show no regard for their staff at all. Disgraceful,

We last went to this beefeater in April and it had gone down hill terribly it used to be so busy with a great atmosphere but it had all gone. reduced menu wasn't great. But we was told everything would be up and running like it use to to be very soon we was told by a staff member that they had a lot of staff leave because of the new manager anyway we decided to give it another go and booked for the 6 May but had a phone call saying they would not be able full fill our booking so I asked if they were CLOSING down and he said yes they will be closing its been earmarked for closure ! I can't believe they would close a really busy popular restaurant which it was till the new manager took over .

We had booked a table for 12.30. A very disinterested male member of staff told us that the menu was limited and handed us a grubby piece of paper on which the menu was written. The menu was disappointing, unless you like burgers or steaks. Luckily we had not ordered drinks ( as no-one had approached our table since seating us), and we decided to go elsewhere. The restaurant is very run down and hardly any staff around. On our way out, we told the chap who had seated us we wouldn't be staying because of the abysmal reduced menu; he was in the process of trying to defend the reduced menu to other diners who had just arrived and were complaining. We won't be returning.

So this is our second visit... Last week we arrived and was handed a reduced menu by a "manager" of which I felt lacked people skills. I felt an odd atmosphere last week between the staff. They seemed overworked and under appreciated. The food was a little meh! This weekend decided to have a larger family meal at this restaurant and was handed yet ANOTHER reduced menu (baring in mind last weekend it stated for "one weekend only" The staff were working tirelessly to ensure our food was on time considering they seemed extremely understaffed. As a collective of restaurant goers there was many conversations being had that it feels different and seems like it's almost falling apart. The waitresses were so lovely and accommodating. But the last few weeks there has been a serious negative change and I cannot work out what it is. It needs to improve ASAP. The extra star is for the great service from the waiting team. The manager who was there last week needs a course on pleasantries

I'm sorry but the food is worse than anywhere I've been. The menu was a poor reduced menu, so vegetarian gets just 1 option and the "chef" clearly can't even make chips. They were hard as crisps. If you can't fry chips I'm worried. The wait staff are lovely, but I feel sorry for them as the "chef" is causing them to face the wrath of the customers for the inedible food. Management must be a major issue to let this continue. If my partner who can't cook can do better, why am I paying that money for inedible food?

I went to to the long Reach for my father's birthday. Firstly, my mum is disabled and requested to sit near the front of the restaurant so she didn't have to walk far. However, we were seated at the back of the restaurant in a room with no one else, she struggled to walk that distance. The room was freezing. We ordered drinks which took over 40 minutes to arrive. They only arrived as one member of my party chased up the order. Food was another 30 minutes after this. When the starters arrived they were cold. When the mains arrived the steak was not cooked to the preferences that had been requested. The ribs and chicken combo were burnt and blackened. We were offered nothing as compensation. We have decided that we will not be going back to the Long Reach.

This is the last time we will visit this shoddy establishment. Been several times, but only when there are Reward Club vouchers as it’s nearly always a disappointment, and tonight was no exception! Fillet steak was inedible and sent back, replaced by a sirloin which the waitress finally admitted was in fact a ribeye! We thought they can’t go wrong with a churro dessert, but no, “the ovens were turned off at 9”! If that was the case then it would have been a good idea to take our order before the 9pm deadline for the chef to scuttle off. Consequently I have unsubscribed from the mailing list, surrendered my reward club card and wish the overworked waitresses good luck in finding alternative employment as this places days are numbered thanks to ‘new management mentality’ Sack everyone and leave the few remaining staff work extra hard.

I booked a table for Saturday 30th March weeks ago, for 8 people. When we arrived there was a sign on the door advising that no walk ins were being accepted. The place was deserted. We were seated and handed menus, the waitress then came up, took our drinks order and brought our drinks to the table. We had started to drink our drinks and had also ordered our food, when the waitress came back to inform us that there was a limited menu, which only 1 of my parties options was available meaning 4 adults had to then change what they were having, which we did, for the waitess to return, absolutely mortified, may i add. The option off the limited menu that myself and another person had chosen was not available. It was then at this point 40 minutes into the reservation we decided that there was no point staying, as there were no other options we would have eaten from the very limited menu. I had a booking following this somewhere else for my nieces birthday that i was not able to ammend the time. So at this point nearly an hour into the reservation time, we had very limited options. We were brought the bill for the drinks although only 2 out of 5 adults had drank theirs and fair enough that the kids could take theirs with them. When we challenged this, my partner asked the waitress to get the manager. At no point did the manager appear, he/she/they made the waitress deal with the situation alone which is unproffessional and just awful ( i will add we did not pay for the drinks in the end, after challenging this, but this should have been a given) I felt horrible for her having to deal with not only the embarrassment of where she works being unable to cater for 8 people, but the fact that we had gotten up to leave. Had we been told when we arrived, we could have made our own decision to stay. We were not told until we had recieved our drinks. Will not be returning, and some advice, find a new manager.

We went to the Long Reach today as it’s somewhere we eat often and we wanted to take our family for Easter. On arrival we were told it was a reduced menu due to unforeseen circumstances. It’s a shame as we really wanted a roast but this was not on the menu. The lady who was our waitress for the entire meal was really helpful. She was very busy and it seemed she was the only staff member there. She was clearing tables. Taking orders and bringing food to the tables. I asked her name (Jennifer) as I wanted her to be mentioned in the reviews as she was an excellent waitress. Always smiling even though they appeared understaff and very busy. I think Jennifer was very professional at all times and deserves to be recognised by beefeater for her hard work this afternoon. As mentioned earlier we eat at the long reach often and normally there are plenty of staff. This does need to be addressed by management before customers go elsewhere.

When I arrived, I waited at the "wait here to be shown to your table" sign for 3 or 4 minutes. No staff to be seen. I walked around and found someone who showed me to a table. They apologised that the breakfast cereal stock was low but said it was about to be topped up - I never saw it topped up so I had an Alpen packet with milk which was OK. I then went over to the cooked buffet and there was a queue and people were waiting for a batch of eggs to arrive. So I side stepped the buffet and tried for a coffee - coffee machine was not working and signalled "call attendant". I went back to reception area and mentioned that the coffee machine needed help. Next I explored the bread and toast section. All the coisants that I saw on arrival had gone - not replenished whilst I was there. The sliced bread was quite hard and stale - so I put 2 slices on the conveyor type toaster. A few minutes later they fell out of the toaster chute - no sign of being toasted in terms of colour but they were warm and dried. I put them through again - similar result...... no browning - just more dried out so I left them and took a pancake which was dry. Then back to the cooked buffet - eggs had arrived. The plates were cold. Bacon was pale and floppy, sausage was good. Black pudding was soft and oily. Eggs were quite cold and not nice. Back to the coffee machine - the person in front got a cup but when I stepped forward the machine was back in "call attendant" mode. Lets try the juice for a drink I thought - yuk it was orange "drink" aka squash. How much does a small glass of tetrapak juice cost?? I then had a try of the fruit salad - the orange was dry and chewy and juice around the bits was fizzy (fermenting) - the bits of apple were nice. Then my last mission was to get that cup of coffee - the machine worked and I got a cup of OK tasting black coffee but it was luke warm. I left hungry and disappointed (got a sandwich at M&S down the road to fill the gap). The tables, plates and cutlery were clean as was the overall environment. It seemed under staffed to me. I won't go back to one of these.......................................

I was with a group of friends who prebooked for Sunday lunch. We queued for drinks at the bar while waiting for our table ( which had not been laid). There was only one member of staff to serve all of us (14). Half an hour after ordering, one of us was told that her choice was "off", so she had to order a substitute but, even then, they could not offer her the vegetables which were supposed to come with her second choice. Eventually our food started to came out in dribs and drabs, but for many it was cold before the last member of our group was served. No sauces were offered - we had to ask - and another of us never got the vegetables with his meal either. Apparently there was a problem with deliveries, but side salads were available (we later discovered) although they were not offered. After eating we were hoping to get asked whether we would like more drinks, deserts and/or coffee, but after waiting over 20 minutes over dirty dishes, most of us gave up. Several of us complained to the manager, but no apologies were offered, just excuses. Although at least two of us were given discounts, none of us will ever return. The staff seemed to be untrained in how to serve or deal with customers and, as for the manager, what happened to "the customer is always right"? "Sorry" should have been the first word out of his mouth.

Absolutely dreadful. Lunch today at a table of 14. Main course arrived approx one hour after ordering without the starter plates being cleared. Had to ask for cutlery for the main course. The, "golden skinned chicken," was burnt, vegetables over cooked and mushy. By the time we left, approx two and a half hours after arrival, one of our number was still awaiting the arrival of the vegetables which should have accompanied the main course. NEVER AGAIN!

The “manager” didn’t come back but sent a waitress to tell us that a meal had been burnt therefore they would have to be recooked and would be ten minutes, however after twenty minutes we had to ask again how long the meals would take , the meals finally arrived after we had waited for 63 minutes. The lady who came and greeted us and showed us to our table, at about 2.45 was very friendly. Our server was very attentive. When I raised a problem with my meal, she kindly rectified and swapped the food. Her shift then ended. During our time in the venue, I was more than shocked at what we were observing from a lot of the other staff members standing around chatting at the bar area. I was mortified to see the restaurant manager in jest, put his middle finger up at a member of staff, who was also behind the bar. On multiple occasions there was about 5 members of staff enjoying eating their maoam sweets and having a good chat. Leaving 1 member of staff responsible for the customers seated in our area. The lady serving us called Lou, went above and beyond to be friendly, kind and make light hearted jokes with us. The extra stuff we asked for, she was more than accommodating. 1 young gentleman who was asked to get us some extra custard by Lou, to bring with our puddings. Came out without it and when my friend was talking to him about the extra custard. He didn't appear to be paying attention when she was talking to him. Even when he walked back past, she spoke to him again and he just smiled and continued walking past. Lou even came back over to make sure my friend got the extra custard she had requested. At this point we explained about the young gentleman. There seemed to be an abundance of staff socializing with the restaurant manager. Normally wouldn't leave negative feedback. However we have never been into a restaurant and seen anything like this before.

I wish I could have something more positive to say, I really do. But, unfortunately, this place left a lot to be desired. Where do I begin? Do I start with the 15 minute wait to get seated, even when we had a reservation? Or do I begin with waiting nearly 30 minutes just to place our order once seated? Unfortunately, this was just part of the long list of issues at this location. Part of my party's food came out about 10 minutes later after the rest of us got our food. I do not put this blame on the waitress, but rather the establishment itself / the shift manager. This location seems to be going to hell in a hand basket. The food itself was not good. I ordered the beef lasagna, and it was an odd, soupy mess of weird, creamy unknown cheese and barely any noodles. I would not recommend this place at its current interation.

We visited on a Saturday night and was greeted with a smoking area with ashtrays, overflowing with cigarette butts. Came into reception. Took nearly 10 minutes to be seen, and our booked table wasn’t ready.. when we seated, there was food and crumbs all over the seats and ketchup up the walls. The table was sticky, and the laid out cutlery looked about 20 years old. While waiting for drinks a trip to the toilet showed even more neglect, napkins and dirt all over the floor, paint peeling off the walls, the toilet door sticks difficult to open whilst trying not to touch the filthy handle. All of the furniture has various states of dilapidation and stains . The starters came out after about 40 minutes and were edible. But look like they’ve been chucked out of a box from Iceland. When the mains came out after another hour, everyone had a complaint from overcooked steaks to hairs in the food we were given a hefty discount. Didn’t stay for dessert will not be going again. This place is in need of a complete makeover

Went here for Valentines meal and have to say the food was lovely. Sadly they was short staffed and only 3 staff members upfront despite the restaurant being very busy, we waited 20mins for our drinks then 1 hour 10 mins for our main meal but despite this the staff who were clearly rushed off their feet, were absolutely brillant, polite and great customer service at all times. Very apologetic despite it being no fault of their own. The food came out piping hot and was very tasty, despite them being short staffed we had a lovely meal with lovely staff. We will be back 😊 Only one negative they only do 1 sauce for the steak so if you don't like peppercorn there is no other sauce option, so just asked for some normal Barbeque sauce (like ketchup) and they squired some in a small pot and charged me on bill. A bigger variety of steak sauces would be better as you advertise sauces on the main menu but because we ordered off the Valentines menu you told us no despite being happy to pay for a sauce 😕

On arrival, we were greeted with an empty reception desk - which stayed that way for nearly 10 minutes. Eventually one of the waitresses called out to us to tell us they would be with us shortly - another wait and no apology. We were eventually shown to our table, by which time there was a long queue behind us - again no apology. When the server arrived to take our order, she was abrupt, almost to the point of rudeness, did not engage with us, and she was obviously stressed. I ordered a pint of Doombar, my partner ordered a half-pint of cider. When the beer eventually arrived it was so cloudy it resembled mud and smelled strongly of vinegar. I took this back and was offered an alternative, which was somewhat cloudy and tasted almost 'off'. The customer on the table adjacent sent his pint back! My partner was told her chosen drink (which had been recommended by the server) wasn't available, so ordered an alternative cider - only to be told that this wasn't available either. She eventually ordered a merlot. We waited nearly 40 minutes for our food. My partner's salmon was tiny, served with just chips and the most dreadful spicy sauce that completely killed the flavour of the fish. At £17.49 this was very poor value. My fish and chips was OK, but the portion of mushy peas was tiny - about a dessert spoonful, and at nearly £15, again, awful value. We ordered some desserts - these took so long to arrive that another server found it necessary to apologise to us. The apple pie was edible but the pastry was soggy and came with one tiny scoop of ice cream. The pie had obviously been frozen. My partner's chocolate brownie was apparently delicious - the only saving grace of the whole meal. We were so disappointed, we didn't bother with coffee and left immediately after paying. The place was clearly understaffed and gave very poor service and very poor value for money. We won't be visiting again. If you're considering eating here, take my advice - choose one of the local pubs, where you'll get far better service and value.

Visited for Sunday roast. Booked online in the morning, but no booking was visible on their system - they questioned how we could have booked online for the same day- and so we got seated to eat in the empty bar. No atmosphere whatsoever and view of the main road and (full) ashtrays outside the window. The chicken was edible but the beef was totally flavourless and lamb very fatty. The stuffing balls tasted weird and I could still taste them hours later. £9 for 2 cokes. Staff were ok but not terribly welcoming. Didn’t have high hopes but was still disappointed!

Very good atmosphere, always enjoy steaks. Notice some of the dishes changed size for smaller. Price good enough.

Took so long to order and get the food, when it arrived the bottom of the burger was stale and rock solid and the chips cold. Would not recommend at all, save your money.

Booked a table , place was extremely busy , we didn’t mind waiting a hour, food come out and it wasn’t great …. didn’t have anyone ask if our food was good or everything was okay ect , I opted for the mixed grill , it was very average and not hot , eggs were solid and chips was cold , partners meal was fish and chips and she enjoyed it but her chips was also cold , don’t think I would go back to be fair , better options and restaurants in the area Just wanna add the starters were piping hot and better than the main meals in my opinion . Had nothing to complain about there , was just the service and main meals , like I have said in the header . I was a really big fan of this place but I don’t think I would return for £55 spent and what we received really wasn’t great , we would of been better off down the road at McDonald’s

Very average, overpriced food. It was fine but nothing more. I would look for other options personally. I ordered half chicken, fries and corn. Fries were meant to be seasoned (they weren’t), chicken was meant to be chargrilled (it didn’t look as though it was, was very plain), corn was fine (nothing to it really). There was a small amount of rocket which was well past the use by date and should not have been served in a restaurant. My other half ordered the ribs, breaded chicken and chargrilled chicken. The chicken was fine but the ribs were “not great” as he said. We ordered two soft drinks with the two main meals and we paid around £44. We don’t have a problem with spending that but definitely overpriced for the standard of food. Service was ok, we ordered at the bar as the restaurant was full which was fine for us. A pro is they have a gluten free menu and decent parking. We basically stopped here en route to Ramsgate so was convenient but won’t go back.

Great service and food for our small group of 5. We were made to feel special by the staff and the service and food was very good. Lucy was our waitress and Dom was the Manager who also was excellent with his service and hospitality. I have no problems recommending this restaurant to my friends and family.

As a party of 14 with 6 kids the initial starters came out quickly, however we waited nearly an hour for main courses by which time the kids were getting very restless. The main course for some of us was overcooked and dry , the kids pizzas were as hard as paving slabs. Then waited nearly an hour for dessert which was only ice cream. NOT THE FAULT OF THE WAITING STAFF as it was clear they were very understaffed. Very disappointed this is the 2nd poor experience with Beefeater so won't be using again.

When the manager Sarah came over, I explained that the meal was disappointing as so many items were out of stock, she became defensive telling me that I had to be patient. When I tried to explain what was wrong, Sarah repeatedly interrupted me saying ‘thank you’ and laughing, which felt patronising. I then returned to my table and waited for another opportunity to talk to Sarah, but she was not interested in discussing the problems. She talked over me and laughed at me when I said that, as the manager, she should care about her customers. She wasn’t interested in listening or apologising.

We eat here a lot and never disappointed with food and service. As only 2 of us for Xmas Day decided to book. Whilst I can't fault the meal or service was disappointed with the area we were assigned to sit. Besides the till and cutlery drawer in constant use and besides fire exit. I appreciate staff are working during festivities but this was our Xmas evening. It was pretty chaotic with tables being moved for breakfast the next day and hoovering whilst we were still eating. Suggest you don't take bookings for 5pm,as we did,if it means customers feel rushed. Wouldn't book again at this time of year. Can't fault the staff though.

Had arranged to meet friends here for pre Christmas lunch, table booked for 12.30. On arrival there was no one visible either at the seating station, or behind the bar, after 10 minutes we were told from a voice behind a wall that somebody would be with us shortly. (Not a good start) Menus brought over, abruptly told 3 items off menu (so early in the day!!!!) Three Christmas Dinners and a plate of ribs. Cutlery almost thrown on table by far from happy waitress Meals brought out and waitress fingers were in the dinner, ughhh. 3 Christmas Dinners were luke warm, the three brussel sprouts on each plate, plust sliced carrots , were inedible, more like ammunition!!! And when we dare quiery the meal, we were abruptly told, its very difficult to get right you know !!!!!!. ....... thought we were in a restaurant !!!!! Unsatisfied, we still ordered dessert, mint sundae, biscof sundae, apple pie plus 1 more. Dessert sppoons thrown on table, desserts practically lobbed into position, where not only poorly presented, but certainly way smaller than previously experienced, and messy. Well, ........any festive vibes swiftly dissapoeared, our experience was so very disappointing (and expensive ) The chefs standaeds and waiting staff were awful, and having dined here many times before, will not be returning and neither will our guests who travelled far to join us.

Booked a table for two 10.15am breakfast. All the food was stone cold. The left overs of the morning. The rude unpleasant manager Sarah was informed she refused to have fresh hot food brought out, Saying kitchen closed. Why take a booking at 10.15. if the kitchen will be closed. It was my birthday. My daughter as she arrived one minute late was not allowed to come in and sit with me with a birthday balloon and presents. As breakfast was finished . She did come in and sit with me no matter what. The manager stood there and glared at us. When we left my daughter spoke to the manager how awful it had been. She said you are not welcome back. This manager let's down the reputation of Beef eater. We were treated as the enemy and not as a customer. My birthday ruined by the treatment we received by the manager Sarah

There was not enough fish on the menu! My husband likes rump steak and yo didn't do o that, he asked for his steak well done and it was medium. You also didn't have the drink I asked for - Southern Comfort. I'm afraid we will not be returning. We were due to visit the Christmas market and wanted to find a dog friendly pub that served a Sunday roast. We chose the Three Tons not just for its good reviews, but also because their roasts were advertised for £9. We didn't have very high expectations, but how wrong we were! We opted for turkey (there was also beef) and when it was brought out the portions were plentiful, great roast potatoes (I'm very fussy about these!), a good selection of vegetables and it was all really tasty! We were a group of 5 and all our meals and drinks came to less than £60 - amazing value. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and I'd like to make a special mention of the young lady behind the bar who was working very hard but still gave us a very high level of service. They even cooked our (very fussy) dog a portion of chicken! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Popped in to watch the football with my Daughter. Nice friendly atmosphere the beer was good. Plenty of parking at the front of the pub. Good old school pub.
