Brewers Fayre in Cherwell

Having visited here before we decided to stop for dinner on the way to family in Lincolnshire. On arrival a polite gentleman who we found out was the manager welcomed us and told us there was a 45 minute wait for food. I do not mind this, especially if the food is good. It also meant we had a decent break on our 4 hour journey. On arrival we were escorted to our table and I ordered at the bar. The manager and bar staff were extremely polite and the order was processed quickly. It soon became apparent that many people had been waiting for food. This was ok as we had been told there would be a 45 minute wait. After one and a quarter hours nothing had arrived. I managed to catch the manager whilst he was preparing for breakfast to ask if he could check on our food. He did not stop to talk just rushed past and just said it’s coming and did apologise. A table of 4 arrived next to us, they ordered and sat down. Their food arrived within 15 minutes. A waitress then came over and apologised and said our food was being cooked. She looked embarrassed and having seen her during the evening, she looked stressed and to be honest like she had had enough. I explained about the table behind us having all four meals within 15 minutes and she said she would go and get the manager. He came over with the food and just said sorry for the wait and rushed off. He explained that my garlic bread was coming. It never arrived and he did not check to see it had arrived, just carried on laying up for breakfast. The food that we had (smothered chicken and fish and chips) was ok, and we both enjoyed it. This is the reason I am giving two stars and not one. My issue is the complete lack of customer service the manager and all staff had walked past us many many times and surely would have noticed we had been waiting for a very long time, but no one came over. The manager seemed quite keen to get the evening over as he was on a mission running around and not only did he not notice us, or check on us we did not see him engage with any customers. I expect this was a simple error in the kitchen with our order being missed. Had we have been told this or someone come over I would be happy but just to be left is not acceptable. Where is the customer service and the interactions. This could be a training issue. Come on Brewers Fayre, this is not ok. A few positives but overall a very disappointing visit.

Really good spot in bicester, plenty of items to chose from, no long waits on food and the host was really efficient and we didnt wait long to be seated

We visited for a carvery but it was awful, just about warm food served with tasteless and frozen vegetables used. I will never go there again

We had the Sunday Carvery which I must say was really really lovely. The meat (Turkey, beef and gammon) was tender, Dauphinoise potatoes delicious, buttery carrot and swede mash, roast parsnips were soft in the middle and crispy on the outside. Stuffing balls perfect and big fluffy yorkshire puds. All of it, was lovely. Compliments to the chef.

Went for breakfast this morning and the girl that was working was brilliant, really sweet and helpful, can’t remember her name but she had blonde/brown hair and glasses, food was spot on too!

I came to Brewers with my family for food and the waiting staff was amazing, and the host was good lovely atmosphere , molly Charlotte, Lisa and Vixki wher very helpful and had smiles on their faces ,I would come again

We went in for lunch and had a carvery! The carvery was lovely, food was super tasty and hot! All staff were super friendly and helpful! Even though it was busy standards were great! Thanks for a lovely lunch!

We came as part of the Premier Inn meal deal. Having been to these restaurants and similar before, we knew what to expect from the point of view of menu and price and the deal was good value. We were warned to order quickly as they had a large group in and our starters came quite quickly. However, we then had an extremely long wait for the main courses. A waitress even came out and asked if we had had our main course so we thought it might come then but it still didn’t and we had to chase again after about 40 minutes. Others were then asking for their food and the waitresses were coming out to check what they had ordered as if the kitchen were unsure. The steaks that eventually came were very good, but it just seemed chaotic as they had to check what people had ordered and eventually they were warning people about the long wait. It wasn’t particularly full so there should not have been these delays. Friendly but flustered staff.

Bicester brewers fayre is the best out of all their establishments. Staff always give warm welcome & cater for customer needs. Very good on checking with customers if all ok. Food is value for money & very clean/tidy. Well done to the fantastic staff team there. Highly recommend

Yet again Brewers Fayre smashed it, food was great and the service was too, Ryan and Charlotte really do understand good quality service and the rest of the team is great aswell!

Visited here and was greeted by a lovely host at the entrance, we were asked if we had any allergies l, we were seated and told how to order. The ordering process was quick and easy and the food came piping hot.

I came to the Brewers Fayre today, for a few drinks with my friends, the lady Jodie that served us was amazing, she was so friendly, great job.

Writing a review to say how very helpful Charlotte Devlin is every single morning, I am greeted with a welcoming hello and good morning.. exceptional front of house manager very professional, all the staff there are very professional.. and the breakfast is worth having everyday but credit where credits due.. again Charlotte is an exceptional manager!!

Charlotte has been trained well or indeed trained her staff so well.As regulars my wife and I are always promptly welcomed at the desk and more often than not thanked on leaving with the request “ Will you be back next week?” Of course, great value for money and choices from a wide menu.Charlotte is backed up by a very keen and efficient staff and so reliable.Notable of mention are Ryan,smiling Beth and Richard. Definitely worth giving it a try but on a Sunday, as it is so close to Bicester Village outlet it is be best to ring first as the place is so popular.

We booked for breakfast here, 1030, arrived slightly earlier as we knew it closed doors at 11am. We were staying at the Prem hotel, The breakfast is buffet style, which is great, as you can help yourself to as much or as little as you wish. My sister and her husband came to meet us here for breakfast, as were were visiting from Bournemouth, for a family/friends event. The breakfast itself was quite nice, we decided to just have a cooked breakfast, with orange juice and coffee. You can help yourself to a selection of cereals, pastries etc . They do close and lock their doors at 11am, we noted staff taking meals, on their breaks, just after 11am. they do turn off their coffee machine just before 11am, So if you want more coffee or juice, get it before they turn off the machines! be prepared to climb the stairs for the bathrooms, These do need some attention, maybe cleaners could check them every so often. Overall, this was ok, breakfast was quite nice,

Visited here with a friend not long ago and it was a great experience, great menu to choose from and the staff were attentive. Asked about allergies at the door and made to feel comfortable

This restaurant has a great atmosphere and tasty food, manager Charlotte is such a lovely girl and all staff are very nice and attentive

Very disappointing, the Carling & Coors was well below standard, could do with the beer lines cleaning and an upgrade to the filthy glasses, the bar supervisor had the remains of his breakfast embedded into his beard. Furthermore, the language from the staff and management was disgusting.

Stopped of for a quick spot of lunch before heading to Birmingham great service and great food definitely recommend this place faultless

Flat after 1 minute and the glass smelt disgusting, not surprisingly really, Coors Light was rebranded as Coors March 2021 making the glass over 3years old....!! Repeatedly getting parts/segments of the Coors Light logo from the glass in my teeth......Management & staff should be ashamed of themselves, especially the manager behind the bar in shorts and flip flops

I ordered the dubble smoothed chicken meal and it was very lovely and fresh chips was lovely and hot I had a gin and tonic too the wiring staff was very friendly and had smiles on there faces

Nice breakfast food hit and well cooked. Was laid out in a buffet style with the usual toast and cereals. The continental breakfast was ok but not so much choice. Juices were ok but not great. Service friendly and quick.

Wow, came to have breakfast. We are absolutely delighted with the range on offer for breakfast. So much to choose from and all fresh and piping hot. The Pub was clean and the staff so attentive and couldn't do enough for you, Ryan was our host who was amazing, friendly and very polite. Definitely be returning again for yummy breakfast 😋

We went for dinner and took my mum too. We were seated and attended to by Beth. Once again, nothing was too much trouble and she was friendly and helpful. Food was good and came out in good time. We all enjoyed our meal. Thank you.

I came here for a birthday lunch. The food was fabulous and plenty of it from the carvery, Ryan, who greeted us, went above and beyond to make my birthday special. Thank you Ryan 😊 I would throughly recommend it here and we will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful lunch, I had build a salad with a chicken breast and a jacket potato, my husband had green thai curry with naan bread, both was delicious. We were welcomed in by the lovely Ryan and very well looked after with drinks and desert. Our favourite place to eat !!

Decided to go out for some late lunch today. All 4 of us, 3 adults and 1 toddler, all decided to have the carvery and it was busy but didn't matter as we been few times before and been lovely but unfortunately today we had a bad experience here! The woman that served us was very rude and didn't want to help us with any questions we asked then when we paid she never gave us any glasses for our refill drinks, then the food was just not good unfortunately meat was okay but the trimmings weren't good at all,Stuffing not sure how they cooked it but tasted unpleasant today,carrots cold and hard, parsnips weren't cooked so rock solid and Yorkshires seemed they just needed abit more cooking time but it was busy so think they was rushing everything because of how busy it was which I understand but we paid to eat cooked foods! This is one of our favourite places and will come back as think today might have just been a bit abit to much pressure on staff due to the busy rush. Just so unfortunate I had to write this, never ever had a bad meal here

I popped into brewers frye for a meal with family it good I had the chicken tikka upgrade my husbanded had sausage and mash a lovely waitress called Kim bought our meals over to our table and offered us extra drinks and desserts after we finished the meal she checked in to see if we was all happy with our meal Kim is a credit to your team

Sunday lunch treat, great food, excellent service from Beth and others, value for money. If you get a chance, well worth a visit.

Very busy place and the staff are run of their feet, but their still all smiling and pleasant, I would recommend booking your table as it was heaving when we came.

Easy access from the Premier inn across the car park, best to book a table which we did, although as we got there 15mins early we still had to wait, so got a drink at the bar until we were called. The menu choice was great and good prices, food quickly arrived and very tasty along with a good selection of drinks. Breakfast was also good and very much recommend.

We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, all the staff Alex ,Ryan, Eve, Max,Elysia and Tristan were always there with a smile and nothing was to much trouble the service was great, the meals were prompt, and we had a great evening thank you so much to all the staff

The food was lovely, everyone enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great and so was the service especially from lily (who served me on the bar) and eloise (who came back to check on the food). However the one down fall was when at the bar, one of the servers walked past, her name was brody and she had a very distinctive smell that lingered and i couldn’t stay at the bar area because it was so bad.

We turned up at a very busy time of day, but had booked in advance, we were shown to our table straight away. I ordered drinks at the bar and paid for the meals as we went for the carvery. The meats were excellent, a very good selection of vegetables, all were piping hot well cooked. Excellent service from Charlotte, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. if you have a free Sunday, give yourselves a treat and have a meal there.

Had a great visit here with the family for an evening meal. The staff were great from the moment we walked in; friendly, kind and happy to help.The service was very fast, and everyone was happy with their food in terms of both presentation and taste. It is very rare that there are no complaints, but this time was one of those times.Special thanks to Elysia, Ryan, Justyna, Gigi and Magda for making the visit so great!

Unfortunately, despite my food being served quickly and the staff being quite efficient, both the starter and main were very underwhelming, overpriced, lacking in flavour and left me regretting choosing this restaurant based on it's other Tripadvisor reviews. Hopefully it was an off-day but I would not eat here again and certainly did not risk getting a dessert...

Absolutely love this place!! We are weekly regulars! Always book as you don’t get in! Food is absolutely by far the best value and we really enjoy and look forward to our Sunday lunch. Really nice welcome, friendly team and great atmosphere! Eve always makes an effort to ask how we are!

Whether we visit on a Sunday for our favourite roast or in the week we are always given a splendid welcome by all members of staff. Whoever selects these people certainly has the knack ! We never have to wait after ordering and the menu is very wide and is always excellent value for money.Today we were served excellently by Polly/Caeris,so dynamic she is known to us by two names and also Elysia and Eve. Missed Amber and Alex today ,who were probably on a well earned rest,both members of an excellent team.We will be back again.

You know what you're going to get with BF, it's never going to reinvent the wheel so what makes a difference is the staff and service. Alex, Justine and Rich did an awesome job of taking care of me and my three pre teens who can be a handful. Can't fault the food, the location is stacked with parking and it does what is says on the tin for what you expect. What makes this a five star review is the staff! Give em a raise!

We had a table for 2 nights 5 people 2nd & 3rd march in the restaurant where we looked after by the friendly staff on site . Particular mention to Polly who waited on . Great service with a smile :-)

I always come here for food, & it never disappoints. It’s great value so if your looking for expensive grub then this ain’t it but if your looking for great food and a great cost then this is the place to be! Carvery on a Sunday is my favourite!

My friends and I came in for a Sunday carvey which was very busy. The roast potatoes are to die for. The service was brilliant. I would really recommend this place. I'm looking forward to coming back

Both me and my partner thought we’d give the carvery a go. Now I don’t think I can stand a roast ever again. Eating there resulted in us both having food poisoning and ending up having to see a doctor. The food was clearly cheap food (watery gravy, mixed carrots and sweet corn offered as the vegetable choices as if it were from a microwave bag, blocks of stuffing didn’t even look cooked, the gammon was just pure fat). the service was horrific, the men behind the counter were more interested in joking around and having a chat with each other than serving us. The waiter even told us he’d rather be sat watching football than working his shift. There was only one choice of meat (wish I had none) despite offering 3, the tables were dirty, drinks were limited as a result of the machine not working and they cleared the carvery away as soon as we got our first plates despite it being ‘buffet’ style and not informing us of this when we paid before. I’m not usually one to complain but I’d stay well away from this restaurant. Sorry!
