Bugle Horn in Aylesbury Vale

We went to the bugle horn for Valentine’s Day as the menu was good value for money. Aimee was so lovely and extremely helpful when we had to pay due to using vouchers. Food was hot and brought quickly once ordered.

Aimee was fantastic, service couldn’t have been better! Food was great and the location and scenery is very historical and beautiful.

Served by Aimee, had an absolutely fantastic meal with friendly, prompt and understanding service - Definitely coming back!

Brilliant pub and lovely food, staff are friendly and courteous and will go out of their way to help as much as possible. Very caring and considerate staff and wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely be returning great experience.

Popped in by chance and was meet with a friendly smile from Roma, they were very busy as it was a Saturday night. We were served by a young guy called Will and I must say the service he provided was second to none even though it was only his second day. The meal was well cooked and nothing was too much trouble Many thanks for a lovely evening

Parking is easy and they have a dog friendly area where you can eat and get waitress service

Came here today, loved the open fire on a cold miserable January day! Nice atmosphere with a mixture of bar trade and diners! Our waitress, Roma , was warm, welcoming and very friendly. Extremely good service throughout. We made use of our discount voucher and we’re very impressed that the food wasn’t compromised at all, my steak was cooked to perfection! Thankyou all for brightening up our day ❤️see you again for my birthday next month! Xx

Wifey & I went for a date night on a Tuesday night taking advantage of the 50% off of main meals offer. Wifey ordered the creamy mushrooms and I ordered calamari. The mushrooms were very watery and she had to stir them around to try and mix the sauce. My calamari was barely warm with the smallest sliver of lemon I’ve ever seen. For mains I ordered the hunters chicken schnitzel and wifey penang chicken curry. The curry was delicious but the chicken was so over cooked wifey had to leave half of the meat as it was inedible. The schnitzel was well cooked and hot but the portion was minuscule and really not worth the price if we’d paid full price. There was a table behind us of, we believe, staff who talked constantly and loudly about their health issues. There was loud music blasting out of the kitchen and not once did anyone come up and ask us if everything was okay. It was midweek and there was barely anyone in so they weren’t rushed off their feet. We’ve had some great food in the past but now they seem to have upped the prices, reduced the portion sizes and also the standards of quality. Unless there are some changes we’d have to think twice about going back. We can get better food with better portions and cheaper in our local pub restaurant.

The food here is consistently really good, especially relative to a very reasonable price. Really doesn’t get the credit it deserves in my view. Staff always seem friendly and helpful and the bar and restaurant are always clean and well kept. Definitely worth a visit.

The setting was lovely - very Christmassy - with a roaring fire and lovely decorations. Friendly staff. The menu options were great - and we decided on the xmas menu - The food was delicious. The only thing that could be improved was the speed of service as we did wait quite a while after our main for our dessert and had to rush off straight away afterwards as needed to be back at work. That said, it was a busy lunchtime with a large table of guests in and it was starting to get busy so staff were stretched. I've never been to The Bugle Horn before but will definitely come again and tell others to come and eat here because the food was delicious. It was a lovely start to our festive period - thank you :)

I visited with a group of friends for a Christmas meal. Personally, I found the food to be very average, and unfortunately, based on my own personal experience, I just wouldn't recommend this place. I ordered a glass of wine at the bar, and the first two glasses had lipstick stain remnants on them - lack of attention to detail and not a great start. They also didn't have any ice, so my friend had to wait for a glass and ice to go with her drink too. We booked a table for 8pm (and previously pre-ordered all of our food), but the previous diners were still at the table when we all arrived, so we weren't seated until 8:15pm. Starters weren't served until 8:45pm, mains weren't served until 9:30pm, then they forgot my main course (so everyone else was eating apart from me otherwise their food would have gone cold) and they also forgot two other people's side dishes. As a result of the delays we experienced, we were given a complimentary bottle of prosecco and were not charged for the pre-ordered sides, which was a nice gesture. Desserts were then served at around 10:30pm, which given that I think they close at 11:00pm (and we should have sat down at 8pm) is far too late. I just found the whole evening to be disorganised. I understand that its a Saturday night, but when you pre-order everything well in advance, the kitchen should know exactly who they have to cater for. The front of house staff were good, though - very apologetic and did what they could to make up for the oversights and delays caused by the kitchen. All things considered, though, I just wouldn't recommend this place or return as it just wasn't a great experience for me. It's a shame, really, as all the reviews I read prior to coming here were positive, so maybe I was just unlucky.

What a wonderful night at The Bugle Horn last night! The ambience, the food and staff were all excellent! A big thank you to Dan, Molly, Kris, Roma, Aimee, JJ, Joe and Cam who couldn’t do enough for all 26 of us!! Definitely recommend!

Fabulous Christmas meal last night! 26 of us and the food was tasty, hot, and on time. The team of Dan,Molly, Kris, Roma, Aimee,JJ, Joe and Cam could not have been more helpful! It was John’s birthday and they put a candle on his pudding which made it more special for him! Definitely recommend The Bugle Horn for food, ambience and brilliant staff!

A group of seventeen friends had our Xmas lunch at The Bugle Horn today . We all enjoyed a very tasty meal and the service was excellent. Kris in particular was so friendly and attentive , we were all grateful to him for looking after us so well . We look forward to returning for another meal .

Went for lunch with bestie, had a beef brisket sandwich which was ok, didn't like the pickled onion in it. The gravy it came with was very nice.

Really was a great experience, Sunday lunch was excellent and plentiful, cooked by JJ, Cam, Joe and Harry. We were well looked after by Roma who gave personal recommendations. The fires were roaring to add to the atmosphere and experience. We will be back soon.

Myself and 3 other members of my family visited the Bugle Horn today and had a lovely meal. The kitchen consistently produces delicious meals in lovely sized portions. I don't think I've had a better meal at any other pub. The service is always lovely with brilliant staff who not only go out of their way to serve quickly but who also create an energetic and joyful atmosphere throughout the building. In particular our server Kris was amazing and so lovely in particular with my grandmother who has difficulty hearing. He made great effort to make her feel included and ensure she was enjoying the meal as well as had her and all of us giggling on his every visit. I would 100% reconnect this pub if your looking for a delicious meal and a warm atmosphere.

We ordered 3 Sunday dinners and additional sides to be delivered by deliveroo. The order arrived missing two lamb and a cauliflower cheese. We immediately rang the pub to be told rudely they could and would do nothing to rectify the issue and dismissed us telling us to complain on the deliveroo app. This level of customer service is appalling. We of course complained on the app as requested, twice now!! So far with no response or any type of refund. Shocking day light robbery...

Welcoming, polite and knowledgeable staff. Ensured we were satisfied with everything, very helpful and we were able to have 10 people family celebration in our own time with no rushing…. Only 1 gripe, our table was literally attached to the disabled toilet which wasn’t nice when someone used it while we were having our dinner.

Came in for dinner without a booking, tried our luck.. Kris managed to squeeze us in, considering was a busy Friday by the looks of things, he was rushed off his feet, only 2 members of staff running like chickens. (need more staff) However we had the pie and seabass, both dishes were amazing! Please send Kris out thanks for looking after us, going above and beyond as always great asset to your team. I absolutely love a date night with the pooch 💕 amazing food I'm gluten free, roma was lovely, accommodated my stomach needs without feeling like a pain in the arse, they are always are to be honest x

Came for a family meal with my 9 year old son, thankfully we booked a table as there was only two staff members and the kitchen staff. Kris and Romie were very polite and explained only two staff working. however we felt the service was the quickest we've ever had when being there. food was yummy as always, prepared by JJ, served in a timely manner. my 9 year old stated the place is 5 stars and was very happy with the friendly staff.

Six of us dined there yesterday evening. We were brilliantly served by JD and Kris, and the food by chef Dan was excellent. Great atmosphere and good value for money. Will certainly go there again.

A nice meal ,had the Sunday lunch option,the 3 meat trio,my wife had the pork and the mother in law had the beef,all cooked reasonably well,with good service and great outdoor seating,it was a tad busy when we visited,which didn't impact that much,but did look a bit understaffed for a busy Sunday.Will visit again...

We were looked after by Kris and he was very friendly and chatty. Dinner was nice, I would recommend the pie or lasagna. Live music was playing in the pub with a great mix of music. Well worth a night out and good value!

Week night visit... service a bit slow as there were limited staff and it was very busy ...a good sign.... but the food was very tasty and worth the wait so I will be back. There is a large car park at the side and it is a convenient location outside Aylesbury.

Has totally changed since my last visit, the attitude of the staff indifferent and the menu is poor when choosing for those who are gluten free with the staff telling us we use the fryer for everything but it's ok if you only have an intolerance!

We have visited several times and usually found food and atmosphere good. However we were not told that the approach Road from Aylesbury was closed (due to HS2 works) and that meant a diversion of 30 minutes. This probably explained why the pub was practically empty. Had we been told we are likely to have chosen to go somewhere else.

Roma was so lovely, amazing and very accommodating. Despite having to inform us that alot of the dishes had run out, she was so apologetic! Of course, it wasn't her fault!!!!!! The chefs pulled it out of the bag! Great food, nice atmosphere which was chilled as I had my Autistic son with us. Roma is an absolute credit to the team! Such a friendly person and making conversation was seamless.

Dreadful experience. Food adequate - nothing outstanding about it. Service was very, very slow due to lack of staff. Felt very sorry for our waitress who was having to serve behind the bar, prepare drinks orders as well as serve food. The few staff that were there were actually RUNNING and that suggests poor management. Staff being asked to work longer to 'help out' with no idea of their likely finishing time. Great location so very sad that this was such an off-putting experience.
