The manager was very polite but the Caesar salad was very disappointing. The chicken was great but the salad consisted of lettuce only, When I asked about it, he told me that they only use fresh ingredients and seemed to be smirking at me. Question, why advertise a salad if you can only supply less than one fifth of the constituent parts?

Many thanks to all the team for the amazing job you did hosting our double baptism party. The garden was great for the event, the team worked really hard and food was great! Thanks All! be back soon x

Don’t just pay your bill scrutinise it first

The Pizza was absolutely delicious with the triple cooked chips. Wonderful service which was friendly, warm and very welcoming. Definitely will return.

The food was amazing, well presented, good size portions and tasted delicious. The gluten free fish and chips was the best I've ever tasted with delicious crisp batter and came with mushy peas, tartar sauce and curry sauce all in separate pots. There weren't many customers but for some reason our party of 8 was sat in the darkest part of the pub which was full of old world charm but was chilly and the speaker for the music sounded as if someone was eating a bag of crisps. A good experience but needs a few tweaks for a perfect rating.

After having travelled down from Yorkshire I had arranged with my friend to go to the Boot for lunch as we had done previously. What a disappointment we had the Steak frites but failed to see that chips were included. Hence we ordered the triple cut chips which to say the least were disappointing, not advised by waitress that chips were included with the meal. We were served steak, chips and peppercorn sauce (which was lovely), no garnish of any description, we were served steak and chips only,unappetising and so very tough. Very disappointed.

A really yummy good quality meal & value for money. We were 2 couples meeting up for the day & needed an impromptu late lunch. The staff were very accommodating seeing us we rolled up at 3pm. Thank you

A lovely historic pub with a quirky split level interior. The food portions offer great value for money however as we dined as a large group, we were sat in the boot room and felt a little out of sight, out of mind with no offer of more drinks and slow service. Toilets are situated upstairs so a bit tricky with a toddler but otherwise very welcoming of children and great kids menu.

What a great pub. Dog friendly, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were lovely, especially Evie, she was so nice, and kind enough to phone me to let me know that, although I'd booked the Snug area, there was a quiz night and it would be busy so moved us to the Boot room were it was quieter. Will definitely be coming back again

Nice pub, but very disappointed with the roast dinner, beef very fatty and very expensive for what was served. No check back to see if everything was ok! Other basic food that came out and look nice.

Although it was a darts team game, the atmosphere is what you'd expect from a Country pub. Food is good as was the beer. Recommended.

We had the 3.00pm sitting on Christmas Day which was delayed due to breakdowns of 1 oven and 1 dishwasher. Despite the chaos of people still eating, next sitting arriving and people in for drinks only the staff coped and were always pleasant and helpful. Despite the problems the welcome drinks and canapés were still given to us. The food was cooked well and hot. At no point were we felt rushed to get through the meal and leave. We were happy to chat together between courses listening to the music playing. The staff did an amazing job in difficult circumstances and we all enjoyed the meal together on Christmas Day. We will use The Boot again.

We have Jst had the best Christmas Day lunch here and it was amazing x the food was perfect x the table we had was perfect x and the staff were amazing x well done everyone we loved it x

7 of us had booked the 3 course xmas meal. Different starters were ordered and all good. We all had the traditional turkey dinner followed by a mix of desserts. All of it was great! Meal timed nicely. Food temp good and plenty of food on the plates! Ambience was also good. Staff efficient and helpful. Dealt with food allergies well. Loved the Valpolicella we drank with our meal. Could not fault the evening. Thank you everyone!

We decided to try the Boot again as we'd heard good things and we weren't disappointed. Food was great, service was spot on, the waitress was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

I booked the boot for my 30th birthday celebrations and it was superb. Gemma, the manager was so friendly, warm and organised and couldn’t do enough for the table (she even ended up learning most of our names!) the food was exceptionally good and the service was brilliant. Couldn’t fault it.

Fabulous pub and staff. Great welcome and even though we hadn’t booked a table for six people the girl in charge managed to fit us in for lunch. I think the girl was called Emma maybe and she even organised a taxi for us to Luton airport. Would definitely revisit if ever I the area again.

Came for a group meal of 10+ people for a friends birthday. Food was incredible and really good value for money. Staff were super friendly. Had a great time and couldn’t fault a single part of my visit, positives only!!

A lovely pub to visit. Definitely be mindful that it can get busy on Sunday so try and get there earlier in the day. It does have a warm atmosphere. I loved that on the tables by the bar there are trivia questions cards!

Had an exceptional meal here on Saturday! The menu was so tempting that we had a hard time choosing, but luckily, being in a large group meant we got to sample a variety of dishes. Standouts were the bread with chicken skin butter, the incredibly tender beef short rib (honestly, they should rename it the 'long rib'!), and the lamb bonbons. The staff were warm and welcoming—special shoutout to Gem, who was an absolute rockstar! Will definitely be returning soon.

Discovered this lovely, friendly country pub today. Brilliant staff. Had a fantastic roast (my partner said the porchetta roast was one of the best roasts he’s ever had!). We will definitely be back.

Went with family for Sunday roast, after seeing reviews of wonderfull roasts, what a disappointment, the meal presentation was por, the food was almost cold, veg either overcooked or almost uncooked, portions very small, would not return, the staff were amazing.

Beware the older waitress. Very passive aggressive if you dare to complain about anything. Big chip on her shoulder. Friends of ours said the same, so we didn't just catch her on a bad day unfortunately.

Visited yesterday for Bottomless Brunch . We were so lucky with the Weather & sat outside & enjoyed the fantastic Live Jazz Singer. The Drinks flowed & The Food was Delicious. We had Mushroom Benedict & a pasta Dish, they were so nice. The Staff here were amazing , The Waitresses were friendly & very good at their jobs. The Lady who was maybe in charge was lovely, very chatty & welcoming & everyone there was having a great time ! Would highly recommend & will be back . Lovely Country pub in a Beautiful Village setting

Amazing experience yesterday. Pub was busy- great to see on a Tuesday lunch. Had fish and chips that was really exceptional. The homemade pie of the day was so good. Service was lovely. Thanks for having us. Will be back!

Came here for my 29th Birthday and it was a lovely evening! Food was delicious and piping hot, friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmosphere. Would come back again.

We had an early lunch so pub was not particularly busy. Staff were lovely and very caring. The whole building and interior are beautiful and would definitely recommend 👌

Lovely venue. Lots of parking, freshly cooked food. Our Canadian fiend loves this pub, as it's exactly the image of what a country pub should be. We sat outside in the garden and enjoyed drinks and lunch in the sunshine, taking in the views . We all opted for the burger which was very good.

'New Ownership' : 'The Boot', garden and parking have been transformed, but unfortunately the 'Welcome' sign did not live up to expectations. Unfortunately the 'welcoming' barmaid appeared rushed and off-hand. Food : Whitebait starter was really tasty, but not the promised large portion. Worst of all were the salad leaves which were stale, soggy and really brown. No recompense was offered. Pizzas were soggy in the middle and could have been improved with grated parmesan, if available. Disappointed at the lack of service, we will not be returning to this local venue. It could have been a lovely evening sat outside in the beautiful well-kept new grounds.

I have passed this pub many times but today was the first time I have stopped. With lots of seating inside, there's also seating outside front and back. There was even an outside bar at the rear (I assume seasonal). Great choice of beers and a food menu that looks like it gets updated regularly. Sunday roasts coming out looked excellent. Enjoyed the teriyaki beef noodle salad. The staff were excellent. There's even table tennis in the garden. Highly recommended.

This was our second visit and it was just as good as the first one. Beautiful garden and the food is cooked with love and flair, plus the prices are correct and fair. Cheesecake was 😋

We had some sharing starters for lunch yesterday Tempura courgette was cooked in the oil used for fish ! Coleslaw supposedly homemade tasted fizzy as out of a tub Greasy halummi and tasteless sauce Chips greasy strong deep fat fryer smell and taste

Early evening meal for four so it was fairly quiet . But service was good and so was the food which is all that really matters . Everything looked fresh and clean

Wonderful roast dinner at this idyllic village pub in Soulbury. We were a group of four adults and one 5 year old and dined outside in the rear garden. Food was outstanding especially the roast beef and highly recommend the Basque cheesecake 🤩. Fantastic service and experience, thank you and see you again soon.

We had a wonderful meal at the boot last night 2nd July. Not been there for a long time and was very pleasantly surprised. Food was fabulous and service too. Such a lovely evening. Will definitely be back.

The bar was quite lively when we visited because of a football game, but we were found I nice quiet corner and the service was great. Food was good , with a new , but very tasty variation on Lasagne . The Frivkles were Particularly nice.

The Boot room was the ideal place for our family meeting to celebrate the life of our Mum the food was outstanding suiting all diets and was enjoyed by everyone. All staff were extremely helpful. The Sunday Roast Beef dinner: Big yorkshire pudding, carrots, parsnips, potatoes, gravy. 2 wafer thin slices of beef (bacon rasher size) most places offer a lot more beef than this for less in price. £24.95 Not good value.

Reserved a table online. When we arrived we were told the chef wouldn’t prepare the main menu so only had limited bar snacks/pizza menu to choose from. When we tried to place order we were then told the kitchen had closed. We told the waitress that we had a dinner reservation and she did speak to the chef who agreed to make our food. The food itself was good, and the front of house staff were friendly and helpful but to be honest probably won’t be back due to the attitude of the chef. Shouldn’t have to negotiate for a pizza when you have a dinner reservation.

Great service and wonderful food! Lovely place to spend your weekend! Can’t wait for our next visit.

Stopped for a late lunch and shared a goats cheese pizza with a portion of halloumi fries and had a cheeky glass of rose wine. Good selection of food on the menu and food was freshly made. Staff were friendly and pub had a nice atmosphere. Would recommend.

Food was excellent and the staff super friendly. We were in a party of 4 and one of the party has a number of food intolerances. The chef came out to talk to her and spent a lot of time suggesting options. He was very professional and unfazed by it and she was happy with her meal. My husband and I both had the burger with added bacon and the other friend had the brisket. My chocolate delice pudding was delicious.

I believe The Boot Inn is operational under new management and a new Head Chef Paul! Friendly staff and a warm, welcoming atmosphere has you soaking in the character and charm of this beautiful, building. Fabulous drinks (especially the gin and cocktails) with a vast array of choices. The food… is simply delicious and divine, along with the quality of produce and skill is simply stunning, such a treat! I have enjoyed both the Roast dinner and the GF fish and chips which are of exceptional quality. It’s fantastic to see a gastropub cater for Gluten Free individuals along with other intolerances. Perfect combination for families and friends wanting to catch up and dine in a relaxed environment. Highly recommend 😊

We had the pleasure of popping in to have a drink in the unexpected sunshine, after speaking to the bar maid in the garden about food we decided to eat and so glad we did, the food was unreal! The chief is new and he’s a talented man, the team were just brilliant doing all they can for you, the pub has new owners that are local and they really have put their stamp on the place,. Couldn’t recommend it enough

Lovely pub, welcoming friendly staff. The food was delicious. Great to see the £10 meal deal back. Highly recommend the Focaccia chicken and black bacon sandwich. I’m told by our friends that the Scampi and chips were really good too. Great to see some good old traditional country pub staples.

Good selection of beers and friendly staff. I have only stopped here in passing a few times, and each time I always make a note to come back for food as the restaurant looks lovely. I haven’t managed it yet, but will soon and I’ll update my review!

Sunday lunch on Mother's Day. Very busy but kept up with everyone well. Focused selection of food, mainly Sunday Roast (but did sausage and chips for a child for example). Good attitude from staff and a welcoming well kept environment. Looks like it is changing hands so hope they continue to thrive under new ownership.

Myself and my partner went on Sunday for a Sunday roast. Was surprised how quick the food came until we saw the plates. Meat was ok but overcooked. Veg was way too overcooked, gravy like water literally! Potatoes were soggy. Only thing good on these plates was the Yorkshire pudding. So as you can imagine when we paid the bill it was quite a shock £62 for one drink each and two very disappointing roast dinners.

New chef I believe - been twice recently Just a wonderful meal - will revisit and recommend Good service Place should be busier perhaps needs more advertising

Changed since my last visit ...more of a gastro pub now, in the lovely village of Soulbury. Limited parking, plenty Al fresco seating out the front & a rear area too. Food looked good & a nice x4 tapas(£22) style lunch menu...only 1 real ale & usual suspects on draught & bottles

Descriptions of roasts don't match our experience. Chicken Sunday roast was lacking carrots or much veg. Chicken was lacking flavour and the potatoes were clearly frozen. We saw the chef take the frozen yorkshire puddings out of storage. No bread sauce served despite description on menu. We also booked on the morning and had our reservation confirmed online only to be told their systems didn't update. Only positive was the waitress who was attentive. An overall really disappointing experience. Wouldn't go back.

It's been a few years since we've visited the Boot and its changed hands, has been redecorated and their are new menus. We came for Sunday lunch and the food was great, plenty of lovely veg and the beef cooked really well. Delicious desserts too. Service was really good so I think we will be back.

Popped in for an afternoon Sunday roast with my partner and we were very impressed. The quality and quantity of food was exceptional. Highly flavoursome roast potatoes( non of the frozen oven cooks here). 3 slices of lamb superbly cooked. 4 different vegetables (broccoli, carrot, red cabbage and green beans) perfectly cooked and presented. The waiting staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a visit to the Boot. Thank you for a lovely meal.

We came for Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day. The food was all very tasty so I would recommend. It would be nice to have a drink included in the price and we didn’t receive the mince pie which was supported to come at at the end, but overall a great experience with friendly staff and we’d do it again. We had to reach out and enquire if we needed to prebook and it turns out they had some issues with the bookings, but hopefully this is something they can resolve quickly to ensure a smoother booking experience.

A truly wonderful Sunday roast.3 which slices of delicious lamb with a a generous helping of green beans, carrots, red cabbage, broccoli and roast potatoes. Plenty of gravy and a well puffed up Yorkshire pudding. Very tasty indeed. I would highly recommend a Sunday visit.

We decided to visit the Boot Inn on Boxing Day and initially we had a disappointing experience. That being said, it’s important what a business does to address concerns & feedback to improve customer satisfaction and that is something that Gem and her team are doing very well. On our 2nd visit, the staff were brilliant, attentive and friendly. The food was great, and the portion sizes more than adequate. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, in a lovely pub/restaurant. The Sunday roast is perfect. The garden looks great for a return in the summer & plenty of parking available too. We will be back for sure, and thank you Gem and team for doing your best to ensure your customers have great experience.

Had a great meal with my wife. We both had the steak and ale pie which was delicious and reasonably priced. The owner said they had taken the pub over just 3 weeks before. They were very friendly and it had a nice atmosphere. We both stayed on to have drinks with friends. Had a great time.

We just stopped by after a very busy morning. Ordered lunch sandwiches on the spur of the moment. My steak sandwich was cooked to perfection, and will definitely be going back
