Could not believe it when I was asked for payment after ordering myself a bacon sandwich and cheese on toast for my partner. Cheese on toast £7.50 Bacon sandwich £7.25 (on a disgusting stale ciabatta that I can only think was previously frozen). I thought this would be the best snacks we had ever eaten after being charged such an extortionate prices. However, they did not even warm the ciabatta (which was stale in any event). VAT is still only 5%, so when it goes back to 20% next year will be an even bigger rip off. The people who own this cafe ought to be ashamed of themselves. I know business have been hit hard with this covid pandemic but everyone is struggling at the moment, its no excuse to blatantly rip people off. Not only was it a rip off price but it was nothing special to boot. Had better in a greasy spoon.

No lift .. which is impossible if you have a newborn in a pram or a wheelchair …. And the response from an assistant was ‘use the escalator’ what !!!! Have you not got a health and safety policy …. For goodness sake a Saturday with no lift …. If you want people to shop then get the facilities l.. mend the lift !!!

Nice surrounding but waited too long for lunch 50 mins Only one person serving and preparing the food and one of the outside make staff walk twice into the kitchen with dirty wellingtons and working clothes. Our food arrived eventually only to find the bacon in the sandwich and bun was cold. We were now running late so no time to have it heated up so have of mine was taken home in my bag and put on my bird table. Another female staff member then arrived before we left and she also walked into the kitchen twice with her coat on then took it off and again proceeded to go in the kitchen and help taking the food out but was nit wearing gloves apron. Such a pity as the area was nicely set out either good views.

Lovely staff and atmosphere. Very welcoming place. We have visited the cafe regularly for the past 6 months and cannot fault the place. We watched a few bands there too and they have been brilliant. My only complaint is the site has let the trees grow a little and hinders the of the lovely view of the fields beyond.

Visited Arley Hall and gardens for the first time, and wanted some lunch while there. The cafe is the obvious choice, however the day we visited it was very busy at the Hall and Gardens and the cafe was therefore also very busy. It took half an hour of queueing to get served. Reasonable if limited choice of hot and cold food. We had jacket potatoes, which were not particularly hot, but generous portions, and coffees, which for the price were very small compared to other places I have visited. The biggest issue for us was that no-one was clearing tables, so when a table became free, the next occupants had to clear up before they sat down, and where we were upstairs, there was a pile of dirty plates on trays etc which people had left near the top of the stairs having cleared tables for themselves. We found this aspect disappointing and it gave a less than positive impression.
