Could not believe it when I was asked for payment after ordering myself a bacon sandwich and cheese on toast for my partner. Cheese on toast £7.50 Bacon sandwich £7.25 (on a disgusting stale ciabatta that I can only think was previously frozen). I thought this would be the best snacks we had ever eaten after being charged such an extortionate prices. However, they did not even warm the ciabatta (which was stale in any event). VAT is still only 5%, so when it goes back to 20% next year will be an even bigger rip off. The people who own this cafe ought to be ashamed of themselves. I know business have been hit hard with this covid pandemic but everyone is struggling at the moment, its no excuse to blatantly rip people off. Not only was it a rip off price but it was nothing special to boot. Had better in a greasy spoon.

Really pricey and very poor quality. The menu is new and pretty expensive for a sandwich. We ordered the salmon and prawn baguette. The salmon was absolutely tiny and there were a smattering of prawns. Bread was dry and stale. All this for £9.

This has to be one of the worse garden centre cafes we've ever visited. Ordered and paid for 3 scones, only two available. Ordered tomato and basil soup, which was basically a tin of tomatoes. Final straw, ordered a brie, bacon and chutney ciabatta with coleslaw and salad, delivered to table minus coleslaw. Took it back to till to be told there was no coleslaw, no apology given. Told them I wanted a refund and went back to table. Seconds later, bolshy woman comes over to say they had no coleslaw. When I said it was on the menu and no one had said anything when we ordered, they'd just ran out. Answer for everything but still no apology. Attitude stank, soup rank. Chef needs to go back to catering college and the bolshy woman needs to go on a customer service course as she's obviously missed this part of her training.

The cafe at this Garden centre near Tarporley is a very clean place to visit. We were quite happy to see the staff wearing masks so we waited at the entrance as instructed for a member of staff to meet us, bear in mind the whole place is indoors . They said we could sit anywhere so we sat at a table for two, where I removed my mask and my husband went and ordered two teas and two scones with his mask still on only removing his once he sat down . The lady then brought our items over to our table without wearing a mask surely this can’t be right surely she could pass on the virus or vice versa. She then kept on passing very close by us whilst clearing tables and only put her mask on to greet other people coming in .To me this did not make sense when all other staff were wearing their masks all the time. Unfortunately we won’t be going back as we felt very uncomfortable .

I used to love this garden centre but alas they have few of the original staff from their change of ownership. We went today and was accosted by a a fair haired woman who was literally screaming at people to take the correct trolley, ordering people to bring their trolleys back to her at the top of her voice. A dreadful experience, she was not a people person with extremely rude manners. Not a good first impression and that was before we even got into the centre! We loved this garden centre before they were taken over having wonderful knowledgeable staff. Maybe not now!

Staff so friendly and so helpful. We have been today for breakfast with Santa. I can’t recommend this enough. The staff couldn’t do enough and were so friendly and helpful. Santa took his time and spoke with the children and the elf was so friendly and kind. It’s rare to get such great customer service from the chef to the waitresses right through to Santa. Thank you. Went out of my way to come here and could not express my disappointment any more than , just awful. The plants looked like they had suffered a typhoon after going through a drought. All looking shabby for anything that wasn’t under the roof. Considering it’s garden centre This place appears more geared towards selling trinkets, ornaments, and things , more so than plants. The place needs a make over rather than looking like a bargain basement brick a brac warehouse.

We have watched this garden centre sadly deteriorate having been a “destination “ on the A49 for many successful years in the past.... However we do believe it is now on the up again! The building itself requires investment and a tidy up of the old glass houses at the rear where in the past other related businesses co-located. These added interest and with the right rental rates for the space and an upgrade on the building fabric they could bring in a new customer base. The restaurant manager Willie is trying very hard to improve the ambience and food offering in the cafe and it’s now well worth visiting, especially as there are frequently attractive offers for Garden Club members. However,Wyvale need to look at their competition and improve their pricing policies on their core nursery and plant business. Staff are always helpful and attentive. There are a good selection of greetings cards and gift ideas.

Called in en route south for a holiday specifically as my wife had some vouchers to use up. Obviously been a garden centre for a long number of years and this was reflected in the ramshackle way the centre was cobbled together. Usual variety of plants etc coupled with the usual “dry” goods that seem to be becoming more and more prevalent in garden centres. Decent sized cafe area with an outside seating area along with an inside area where you can take your dog (the centre is dog friendly). Toilets were basic. Prices were on the high side although there were bargains to be had, mostly sale items.

We bring our pre-school aged grandchildren here regularly, they love the outdoor play area in the Garden, the soft play area and visiting Ripples to see the beautiful tropical and pond fish. Parking is good with plenty of child sized spaces. Food is tasty and reasonably priced and everywhere is clean. A great morning or afternoon out even on a wet or cold day.

We went for one of the special breakfasts that Bridegmere/Wyevale organise and it was breakfast with the Easter Bunny. My 5 year old had a fantastic time. You arrive to a special area and there is tea, coffee and juice to help yourself to and toast came to the table straight away. There are activities on the table for little ones to do. Then there is a full English breakfast which is so yummy- espeically the bacon. Next there was an Easter Egg hunt around the garden centre (with lots of chocolate eggs) and you come back to find that the Easter Bunny is there! The Easter Bunny goes around to all the children and gives them a toy, and then comes around again to interact with the children, and then sits in his 'grotto' for photos to be taken. While the Easter Bunny is with other children there is a chocolate chick to decorate at the table- squirty icing and sprinkles are provided. It is such a lovely occassion and Bridgemere have got it spot on.The staff are amazing, really friendly and great with the kids.I fully recommend.

Visited today and was frankly astounded and disappointed to see how the centre has deteriorated since my last visit around 2 years ago. Oh how the mighty have fallen comes to mind. When independently owned there was never a space free from plants. It was always busy, heaving in fact, today it was like a ghost town and there were lots of raised borders bare. The show gardens were a sorry sight in areas. I know we have had little rain but that does not detract from ensuring plants are labelled (so I can head back and buy what I have seen) nor does it excuse weeding borders which were overgrown, keeping hedges trimmed, or the pond algae free. My impression being that the staff have been cut back. Still it was a sunny day I wandered round with the dog, who incidentally was not allowed in the concessions but ok inside the main area. Shall we talk about prices and plants? Astronomically priced and of poor quality. All other items in the shopping centre such as furniture were priced clearly with the Cheshire set in mind unaffordable and totally impractical. Not a chance I was going to purchase any plants. And then into the shopping centre staff who don't give a damn in the pet area sat gossiping (it was interesting!) and hooks with products on so high I couldn't reach to check prices, feel them etc. So no purchase there. Faded and jaded best described the place for me. Yes I'd go walk round again as I live reasonably near but it will never be a destination to purchase. Such a shame really sorry to see it.

There used to be just a cafe here but it has been rebranded as a restaurant. The new manager and staff are doing a great job in turning it around and deserve support. The manager makes his own scones and they are delicious, but get there early as they run out! I go every week to the garden centre as I live close by so have seen a step by step improvement in the displays, range and quality of plants. Whilst we were there we heard on the next table a couple complaining about their food. All in all we do not recommend this it's overpriced and our cake that we didn't eat we wouldn't feed to our chickens. Very very dry. I showed it to the Manager who was very apologetic but kept calling me pal who offered me another breakfast , which I declined but instead opted for a refund. it was so bad that a long human hair ( one of three) was wrapped around the hash brown !1 never again .

We were impressed with the Manager of the Garden Kitchen Cafe,he explained to us about his plans for the Cafe to become a restaurant very soon & his promotions soon to be unveiled,We had gone to a Groupon Afternoon tea costing £10,We were served very fresh sandwiches Ham & Tomato & Cheese & onion, nothing too unusual about the contents but they were so enjoyable because of the Freshness, then there was 2 Different cakes each ,plus a Scone with butter a pot of Jam & a pot of cream each ,Plus as much coffee as we wanted, we had asked if we could have Latte instead of filter coffee & we just had to pay a small amount extra 50P In fact we actually took the scone, cream, Jam, butter, home as we couldn't eat it, the Manager very kindly packed this up for us & even put in some serviettes We have been several times for afternoon tea to Different places some quite expensive but have found Wyevalegardencentre in Tarporley to be the be the best Value,I have found it hard to answer all the questions as the Restaurant wasn't up & running when i was thereat was still only a cafe,

We had lunch here and both of us ordered a toasted sandwich. We were behind a large party which seemed to cause a problem as we had to wait half an hour for our food! We did complain and were compensated with a piece of cake. The sandwich wasn't great as it was just bacon, chicken and Brie (they forgot the Brie until we complained) between 2 bits of toast. Will probably try it again just to see if they can do any better.

An underdone baked potato, no butter, loads of tuna mayo, not quality stuff though, a handful of rocket and one tiny slice of cucumber, £6.20? One luke warm latte supposedly flavoured orange and cinnamon, skinny fries, (just edible) a cheese and onion sandwich on stale white bread, (£4.80). Total bill over £18, oh sorry I forgot the not very hot pot of tea> Quite frankly, not surprised very few customers, Abysmal; why oh why do we Brits put up with it? They should really close it down.

Extremely disappointed tonight which is unusual as we really enjoyed going before refurbishing. Food was not good a all. 3 cheese burgers one plain and 2 with one piece of lettuce and a chunk of onion. The fries on all three plates were overcooked. The onion rings were overcooked although we did eat some. The carvery was nice except for pigs on blankets as they had been left under heat lamp far to long inedible. The fried chicken sandwich was tasty.but again fries overcooked. The young lady gave me a box to bring the full burger home to put in the bin. This is unusual so not sure if they changed the chief or they were having a bad day. Tripped over the side of the chair and hurt my leg and informed the young lady it was a safety issue she said she would inform the manager but didn’t take steps to remove the hazard. ( not sure yellow and black hazard tape is adequate if it’s covered by the arm of the chair that’s broke ?) this time wasn’t value for money and we left feeling dissatisfied. Felt like they just couldn’t be bothered . Sad really as we have loved eating here 😔

A friend took me for lunch at the cafe yesterday. We were both impressed by how welcoming it felt, how friendly and pleasant the staff were and the quality of the food. So I was surprised to see negative reviews and felt I should express my opinion. I wouldn't hesitate to return, especially to sample the scones and cakes.

Always a positive experience here! Dylan, the Welsh guy with an extremely impressive beard, always makes our visit special and he’s pretty good at making coffee too!!! Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Lovely staff and atmosphere. Very welcoming place. We have visited the cafe regularly for the past 6 months and cannot fault the place. We watched a few bands there too and they have been brilliant. My only complaint is the site has let the trees grow a little and hinders the of the lovely view of the fields beyond.
