i ordered a kebab it was alright kind of greasy and the staff seemed like they was either drinking or on sniff

Ordered online for collection whilst on holiday in Chester. Food for three of us. The process was really easy, and you can even add notes, such as what type of pie, if you want salt, etc. The guys were preparing our order when I turned up. A great feeling pushing ahead of the poor plebs who were waiting for their turn in the queue! Excellent value. More scampi than we get down south, the pies are half what we're used to paying!

My favourite spot for drunk food

Hit or miss in here. found the devious owners to be ok but if there someone there like I’ve found who doesn’t understand English it all gets annoying ..maybe I should bring a stick and point at pictures so it’s understood not go backward and forwards trying to explain mushy peas gravy and chip,

I ordered something very simple but the guy serving was not concentrating and somehow messed up my order, even with the shop being empty! I wished I had gone somewhere else because the chips were so undercooked and anaemic looking.... worst I have ever tasted! The food itself was greasy and barely edible. Avoid!

I bought a large portion of chips to take away. The tray was the usual large chip shop tray with a lid, but the chips only filled a quarter of the containers depth. The contents were less than you would normally get in a single cone of chips. The quality was also disgraceful. Most of the chips were hard (not crunchy) but hard to the point they were inedible. I have neverhad bad food like this from any take away. Chester is seen as a high quality tourist area. The current owners should be ashamed of them selves serving their product to locals and visited. Adams chip shop used to have a good reputation. But since 2022 it seems to have rapidly lost that reputation. And sadly the staff serving you don't seem to care.

Don't go there. 10:30 p.m. they don't do food after that time even though they're open to 0:00

Food is Ok same as other fish and chips but there few stupid staff untrained i orderd burger took 40 minutes when i asked where is my order he said sorry o forgot to cook your orde. LOL never happens in my life i STOPED to take food from there even i didint have food and i didint asked my money back the money is yours and ill never go there again

I ordered from here via Uber eats, driver who couldn't read basic English states he delivered to the correct place yet no food has arrived, my son is in hospital waiting for his food, the driver then ignores phone calls to check on status of delivery, worst service ever!!!!

I ordered food for my 16 year old son who is in hospital. The food was delivered to the wrong dept. The driver did not follow basic simple English instructions, I was then blocked when trying to make contact with them. The telephone number on their website is unobtainable which says it all. Worst ever service!!! Avoid at all costs!!!

Places a order on just eat. Spent 31 pound and it never turned up. Took my money and never turned up.

Brilliant takeaway meal, £10 for a large Doner kebab and did not disappoint me and my mum, meat with juicy and tender, veg was fresh aswell as the pita bread. Portions do not disappoint neither. Happy to pay the £10 for it all as full of flavour and freshness, as a first timer coming here, happy to say will be returning 10/10!

Portion chips think they had been there a while scraps what was left and £3.95 disgusting

The food is very small portions and very expensive , the food is reheated and he does not wash hands when handling different foods . Handles rolls with his hands and picks out the bad chips with his hands .

Distinctly average at best. Have been going here for years but it has really gone downhill. Portions are very small and quality is poor. Fish is small and dry, chips are black and dry and portions of peas are half the size of what they were. Location carries this business as they are one of the few town centre chippies. Very disappointing.

Staying around the corner in the travelodge, called in around 10.45 ordered mixed kebab and large chips, kebab was good but the chips where absolutely delicious staff not the friendliest of people,

Even though the chips are nice, the portions are small and the friendly service is zero.

Nice bad chips but their idea of a large portion is shocking. Took me seconds to eat them . Really gone downhill since my last visit.Disappointed.

Amazing Double Chicken burger and chips

Food of low quality, everything seemed a rush job, couldn't be bothered, chips undercooked and slimey (like the staff). On one occasion watched a member of staff boil a kettle and add the hot water to the mushy peas (need I say more). On another occasion the son of the owner tried to chat me up (I'm a bloke!) Overall a run down dive filled with unclean looking urchins of questionable character. AVOID! YOUR STOMACH WILL THANK YOU!

Awful chips, slightly warm, oily and soggy Definitely been refried or just sat there basking in oil for hours They forgot my curry sauce and fishcake too. Do not go here it's gross

Just had a "large chips" for £3.50 and received the most pathetic portion of chips ever!! They also were not cooked and very pale. I mentioned I wasn't happy and didn't do anything. DON'T GO HERE!!!!!

Went for a late night snack about 11pm, An adorable little fish and chip shop. Staff cooked fish right there and then and it was amazing. Staff was super friendly. It was one of the nicest fish I've had from a fish and chip shop in about 5 years. This was a sober visit fyi - just a couple of fattys on a holiday. Reasonably priced!

Bought 2 chip butties and the chips where cold and definitely not fresh,we where very disappointed 😞

The man behind the counter gave me change for a £10 note when I gave him a £20 note,the chips had a lot of black bits in them and I don't think the cheese on the cheesy chips was real cheese.

Keep giving this chances as it’s only down the road from us but no more. Chips are clearing refried and gross. Seems to get worse every-time I go. Can’t speak for the kebabs etc but not a good chippy!

Portion sizes of our £8 kebab and chips were pathetic. They obviously thought because we had a couple of beers we wouldn't notice there was next to no Chicken under the salad. I challenged them and they said its at the bottom... I gave it them back. I.dont mind paying the money but this is a blatant pi"" take.

I know everything is going up in price but £12 for 2 portions of chips is daylight robbery . I thought they where gonna be something g special but no dry chappy chips. What a joke.

Partner went to Adam’s after work for a chip shop dinner and disappointed is an understatement. Sausage dinner was with gravy when curry sauce was requested, chips all stuck to the paper at the bottom of the serving box. Gravy tasteless and the sausage tasted like it had been under the heater all day. Donner meat was tough and had clearly been sat in the pot for a long time. Really, really disappointing; £15 down the drain. Is the place under new management as the quality has dropped drastically.

Smallest portion of fish I have ever had, chips were not cooked properly, left me feeling ill most of the evening. Over the years this location was a great fish and chip shop, the current owners are not in that league. I will never return here, personally felt ripped off paying good money for poor quality.

Really surprised by negative reviews. We stayed at nearby Travelodge for a few days and had fish & chips one evening. Was so impressed we went back for chicken combo the following day which was excellent. Wish we had such a good chippy at home!

This used to be one of the best chippies in Chester .I wish I had read the reviews before hand ,it must of changed owners as it was terrible , how can I chippy be so bad . I orderd fish and chips which when I opened it , it was not even edible. The local sea culls didn't want to eat it . Avoid like the plaque.

Used to be an excellent chippy and now it's awful. Food for family of 4 was dreadful. Tiny fish which was like a curled up insole that after one bite ended up in the bin with the chips too. Would not recommend to anyone and extortionate prices. Thankfully lots of other chip shops in Chester! They were miserable too !

Shop was empty when I went, no customers. I only ordered chips with cheese on.The chips themselves tasted ok but they were not hot. Just warm. Not the best really.

The food is quite overpriced for what it is. My friend ordered chips and cheese and they got the order wrong and instead put a boatload of awful mushy peas on the chips along with some sprinkled cheese and didn't even apologise or replace the order. Owner seemed clueless of what he was doing, would not recommend.

Allways walk past on way to work at a night club around corner.. Went in today with a mate after a couple pints.. Wow the food is amazing plus the staff are a bounus to the place. Very happy and bubbly willing to crack a joke.. Girl in the kitchen very funny very polite girl highly rated all around

Popped into this chippy shop to get a meal to takeaway and sit by the river Dee and eat one evening. I didn’t like the look of it initially but gave it a try. The food was cooked to order and I have to say it was very good. Well worth a try if you’re in the area.

The shop is not clean, also rude staff.

I visited the takeaway side of this establishment for chips this afternoon. I am 64 years old and these were the worst chips (if you could actually call them chips) that I have ever paid for. I have never been served chip bits before.

Sadly the chip's didn't taste as nice as they smelt 😕, and they forgot the Ketchup i'de asked for!

This place is not a chippy , its a kebab shop pretending to be one . VERY VERY bad , oil for the fish has probably never been changed since it opened , sausages not even warm , no puddings , seemed very dirty too. binned the fish and didnt even eat the chips or sausages , lets not mention the mushy peas ! the place needs closing down !! and the price , well disgusting !!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Blonde haired server was incredibly helpful with suggesting alternatives that I didn't know I would like! Great customer service, food was 10/10.

It's ok if you struggle to find affordable meal in town.

We ordered, large sausage and chips (selected chilli sauce but didn’t receive it) and large donner kebab. The sausage was stale. The kebab was definitely not large and it was really dry. When delivering please put more care in to your orders. Being expensive is not an issue if you deliver to the price you charge customers. Definitely will not order, such a disappointment.

Disgusting food ,chips were awful and burger was greasy ,the bread bun was rock hard. NEVER AGAIN .

Went there for lunch. Absolutely terrible. Dirty cutlery had to change them. Staff were not professional at all. Told them about the food not very good but didn't apologise or reduce the bill. Avoid.

They got 2 orders wrong, the gravy was absolutely disgusting DO NOT ORDER. Tasted like chemicals. A terrible chippy would never visit again. Avoid.

We ordered a delivery as we was on holiday they forgot a large part of the order rang up to tell them they said we have to go back through to deliveroo and order again which was now closed - disgusting customer service when we have paid over £40 for 4 of us to eat and only 2 meals came - avoid at all costs!

As the closest chippy to where we were on the river, we decided to walk up to the shop. We ordered fish, chips & peas and walked back to eat them riverside. The fish was nice, freshly cooked but the chips were hard like they'd been recooked and had been cooked in dirty oil! They tasted of old oil and were speckled with black bits! Not nice at all! The peas were watery...yuk! At £9 for one portion I would not recommend and will not use again!☹

We had fish and chips on Good Friday driving around trying to find a takeaways that was open and would take a drop in order. There was a small queue but the service was fast, approximately 5 minutes. We had 3 regular Cod with chips and one large. The portions were generous and the fish was good. This wasn’t our first choice but other award winning local takeaways were maxed out on orders. This was a good emergency choice.

Extremely poor....stale oil for frying. Worst fish and chips I've had....they ended up in the bin. Massively disappointing. If we could award 0 we would..... Just change your frying oil....a national disgrace.

Fish and peas nice but batter was undercooked slightly. The kebab meat was horrible tough and gristly. Prob won't order again. Friendly staff and have eaten in the resteraunt side before where the quality seem a to be better but for £19 take away not impressed.

Good fish with crispy batter, and not bad chips. Friendly lads serving. Prices maybe just a little high.
