Arrived after 4 but ladies still served us going the extra mile even though they should have shut at 4. Lovely cuppa and nice scone to finish off a horribly wet day, thanks👍

We went in here on our visit to Blakemere Village and enjoyed a very good pot of tea and some delicious homemade chocolate cake. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere about the place was very pleasant. A minor complaint was that the service was slow but, to be fair, they were very busy at the time of our visit. We would have no hesitation in going back, and thoroughly recommend this tea room.

We visited with our daughter whilst on holiday. We were greeted by a really lovely chap, full of beans and such a funny guy. He made us feel welcome straight away. All the tables were very prettily decorated. I did notice two ladies sitting near by whom I assumed were the owners of the tea rooms, as every now and again one of them would be helping the young chap serve. I can understand from reading other reviews what they mean about the owners of the tea rooms, they do not look happy to see people when they come in, so we were obviously lucky ones to be greeted by their staff member who couldnt of been nicer.

Wouldn’t even think about visiting again. We were made to feel unwelcome from the get go. Staff were so rude and didn’t even acknowledge us upon our arrival, they continued their conversation loudly across the cafe as if it was still only them there. Asked for hot water to heat my baby’s bottle up and the - what I presume to me the manager - rudely claimed to her waitress that she doesn’t even know what to put that in. More customers came in and one chose a table next to ours, the manager then shouted across the full cafe “excuse me can you move your pram”, I was embarrassed. It was rude, I wouldn’t mind if I was asked quietly and politely but she shouted in front of everyone. But also the other customer was happily sitting down without a problem, there was enough room without the pram being moved. Then a couple asked the waitress for a chocolate cake which she said of course to, but the manager shouted across to them that it wasn’t chocolate cake, again it was full of customers and she didn’t tell the customer what it was until more than enough time passed, I’m sure he felt awkward too. Totally regret taking our custom there.

We have visited Blakemere often but today we wanted a cup of tea finding this cafe. The place was decorated well & selling their cups & saucers etc which they were serving the tea with. Which was very pretty I must say. The menu was not extensive with choice but does offer cakes but not meals .....my husband had a tea cake along with the tea which was served in a pretty tea pot (both individually) I have mixed feelings about the service given there was no small talk from the waitress in fact she seemed "indifferent" to our presence. The cafe had only 2 other customers in the cafe so you would assume not busy ! When the tea cake was eventually brought the butter was solid & hard to spread. After this experience unsure whether we would return

If I could score lower than 1 star I would! Totally rude and obnoxious owner!!!! My son who is 5 wandered into the tea room today, we had family visiting with us and thought that they would enjoy tea and cakes there. We had already purchased a cup cake for my son from nearby. As we walked in this woman barks at my 5 year old “YOU CANT EAT THAT IN HERE!” At that moment we turned around and left immediately. No way to run a business, don’t bother visiting.

This morning we went into this cafe and my husband ordered a pot of tea and a scone, I asked if there were cup cakes as that was what my grandaughters age 3 and 7 wanted but was told there were none. As there was nothing my grandaughters wanted to eat ,we left my husband to enjoy his cup of tea and scone outside in the sunshine and had a wander round the square and noticed a cup cake shop so I bought two cupcakes for the children to take home in a take away box, We sat down at the table joining my husband and the children asked if they could eat their cup cakes. I know it is not normal to eat other peoples food in a restaurant but as we were sat outside and at that point there was no-one else around, I decided no one would really mind. The owner flew outside and was exceptionally rude to us. Apparently there was a sign which we did not see. Now she was right, I shouldn't have given the children the cup cakes sitting outside her tearoom on her chairs but I just wish she had been pleasant about it. If she had said " I am so sorry but I cant let the children eat their cup cakes here, would you mind popping over there where there are tables and chairs for general use, I would have apologised and that would have been that, It was the way she spoke to us in front of the children that upset us. The little one is very sensitive and looked close to tears and the older one asked me why was the lady so horrible to me. We ended up a few feet away at a table on the band stand in the square while my husband sat alone outside her cafe finishing his food. I used to write Afternoon Tea reviews for a website and have had good and bad afternoon teas throughout Cheshire. My policy is to praise the good venues and if I have had a bad experience I tell the owners personally but don't mention the venue of my poor experience at all on the site, rather than say something bad. I especially try to promote solo owned small businesses wherever I can. The only reason I mention this here is because everyone else in the courtyard at Blakemere was so lovely and friendly to us but it spoiled our morning. I was previously in the hospitality industry doing marketing and PR and because I know what it means to a business to receive a bad review I have never ever written anything negative on Trip Advisor before but I was moved to write today because it affected the children's experience.

My family and I opened the door to go in to the cafe and a woman walked straight through it, explaining that we couldn't go in because they are too full. I responded saying I could see empty tables, she abruptly replied 'those are reserved'. I couldn't see any other children in there, so I might be right to assume that my well behaved 2 and 5 year old were not welcome. Most cafe's try to be a bit more accommodating.

Dropped in for tea and cake - wish we hadn't bothered! The waitress asked if she could take our order, and when we weren't ready just gave a look and wandered off. A conversation ensued between the 2 staff and we were ignored. When we were ready to order, we had to wait for them to ask. We ordered tea, 2 soft drinks and a slice of carrot cake. We were brought lemon drizzle. When I stated that we ordered carrot cake, she questioned me and reluctantly removed it. She then brought over a slice of Victoria sponge cake! We did not bother telling them again. The whole attitude and atmosphere was that we were interrupting and an inconvenience. I would never go back or recommend.

Stopped here for coffee but would not return. The service was extremely slow even though only 3 tables had customers seated. Perhaps this was because there was only one member of staff (owner?) on duty. Whilst I was waiting, two groups of customers who arrived after me and sat unacknowledged, eventually rethought and walked out. The service, when the coffee did arrive, was ill mannered. I watched other customers being similarly treated during my visit, including a polite request for an additional seat for an outside table being met with an abrupt response. Not the sort of treatment one expects and certainly not the sort to rush back for.

The incredibly rude owner of this cafe clearly does not want the business and is unable to provide even an adequate level of customer service. The horrendous attitude that was used when addressing the majority of customers made me incredibly uncomfortable and me and my partner chose to leave to avoid having to listen to this nasty woman any longer. Staff are clearly unable to cope with a larger amount of customers and they desperately need to sort their situation out, because four other people walked out of the cafe complaining so obviously it's not just me who feels this way. I hope for your sakes you sort something out heirs and graces because I certainly won't be coming back and I'll make sure nobody else I know does either.

Went to Blakemere on Good Friday and after looking around all of the shops, we decided to stop for tea and cake at the tea room. We sat outside as we had dogs with us and pulled two tables together as we couldn't all fit on one table. A lady who worked at the tea room came straight out, and could see that we were adjusting the seating so that we could all sit together. However, she decided to pull the two tables apart. We then informed her that we were all together and were putting the tables together so that we could sit with one another. At which point she gave us a dirty look and walked off. We were then sat outside for a good 10 minutes and nobody came to take our order. Two of us decided to go inside to order instead and were told by the same woman 'I'm serving in here, you will have to wait and I will come outside and take your order when I am ready!' Not understanding what the difference was between her coming out and taking our order and us coming inside to order we went outside and told the rest of the group, she then looked at us and gave us a sarcastic smirk. At which point we decided to leave. Her attitude lost our custom, lost the tea room that she works for money, and severely lets down the rest of Blakemore Village! Will be returning but not to the tea room!

This tea shop is worth visiting Blakemere craft centre for, it's only small but very pleasant surroundings to sit in. The waitresses are all very pleasant and the cakes are lovely. They sell gifts which are nice to look at whilst enjoying your drink and food. Certainly well worth a visit.

My friends and I visit H&G; regularly. The coffee is good and the scones irresistible, although sometimes I wish they were not!!!! I highly recommend a visit if you are looking to drink good coffee whilst catching up with friends or family in a relaxed atmosphere. The shop is presented beautifully and Jackie and her team really make you feel welcome. Definitely one of the best coffee/cake houses in the area and well worth a visit.

Stopped off for a cup of tea and a latte at this tearoom. On entering the tearoom the layout was lovely with all the pretty China. There were another couple of people in the tearoom apart from ourselves, but all very quiet. We sat and waited for a few minutes as it said table service, in the end I went to the counter to order. The lady seemed quite surprised that I wanted to order, strange. Service was then very slow and the latte turned out to be coffee with milk. Did not complain just drank up and left.

Just want to say how lovely it was to go here with friends for a Christmas lunch. It was absolutely beautiful and the serves was brilliant as well. Seeing we had booked ahead they had reserved us a table as well. The greeting we received from Anita was lovely and through the whole time she served us nothing seemed to be any trouble to her. I think you are very lucky to have such a lovely employee as Anita working for you she really is an asset to you. With her beginning so professional we are going to organise to bring a group from our church here for our Christmas meal in 2026. Thank you Anita for making us feel so welcome.

Extremely disappointed tonight which is unusual as we really enjoyed going before refurbishing. Food was not good a all. 3 cheese burgers one plain and 2 with one piece of lettuce and a chunk of onion. The fries on all three plates were overcooked. The onion rings were overcooked although we did eat some. The carvery was nice except for pigs on blankets as they had been left under heat lamp far to long inedible. The fried chicken sandwich was tasty.but again fries overcooked. The young lady gave me a box to bring the full burger home to put in the bin. This is unusual so not sure if they changed the chief or they were having a bad day. Tripped over the side of the chair and hurt my leg and informed the young lady it was a safety issue she said she would inform the manager but didn’t take steps to remove the hazard. ( not sure yellow and black hazard tape is adequate if it’s covered by the arm of the chair that’s broke ?) this time wasn’t value for money and we left feeling dissatisfied. Felt like they just couldn’t be bothered . Sad really as we have loved eating here 😔
