Bad service. This woman wouldn't let me use the bathroom.

Met friends here last year and it was great but today was a ‘never again’ experience. £5 for a bottle of warm coke. £8 for stale cheese and pickle sandwiches (no garnish, just two slices of bread a slice of cheddar and a bit of pickle). The waitress said they keep the bread in the fridge - I think the reality is they make sandwiches up days in advance and keep them until they are stale. We complained and asked for a refund which took 20 minutes of form filling and a trip to the hotel reception for them to spend ages on the computer. No wonder they make you pay before the food even arrives, probably too many people try to leave without paying when met with that standard. The menu also didn’t match what’s on the internet, choice is much more limited. My recommendation is the fantastic Italian café in Russell Square garden where we went afterwards - should have gone there first!

We had an enjoyable time at the Shoryu Covent Garden. We were warmly greeted, and as it was a very warm early Saturday evening, we chose to sit outside. It was rather relaxed and pleasant, even though the pubs on either side were looking rather busy. The waiters were friendly and helpful in making the correct food and drink choices for us both. The Gekkeikan Tarusake Sake (carafe) was delicious, not too sweet and refreshing. My friend later also very much enjoyed a glass of Pinot Grigio. I had a gorgeous glass of Malbec, full-bodied and rather plummy and spicy. We both thought the vegan ramen was very good. A nice blend that included mushrooms, tofu and broccoli. Although I'm not vegan, I often enjoy vegan dishes and I added what was a nice, tender piece of Cod Katsu. A very good experience.

Visited Lynton and Lynmouth and was hoping to find a great cafe for a Cream Tea. The Old Coach House did not disappoint. Scone was stated as large on the menu and it most definitely was!! We also had a BBQ Chicken & Cheese toastie and an Eggs Benedict. Everything was spot on. Very welcoming atmosphere and our dog Ginny was also allowed in too which on a rainy day really does help. Thank you.

I was there this morning with some friends for coffee in the basement. Some of us decided to try brunch/ lunch. I ordered Baked spiced aubergine which is obviously vegetarian. The aubergine was old and mushy, nothing like freshly baked. There were some yellow parsley with old pomegranate. It became even worse when I tasted the puffy rice. It tasted completely like bacon which I had to spit it out! Obviously everything is fried in the same old oil! The whole dish was quite disgusting. I do not understand why they’re even allowed to serve such food. My friend had chicken with sweet potato fries. She also was quite unhappy too and didn’t eat it. Although they agreed to take this dish off the bill, I was quite disgusted with the dish that I had to thoroughly wash my mouth. I would not recommend this place for food at all.

Service was ok. We booked a few weeks in advance on the basis of wanting to visit the gin terrace for my mother’s birthday which I specified in the booking. Sadly on arrival we were only offered a booth for 6 at the back behind the bar. There was also a private function on the 2nd floor. So we couldn’t see anything else this pub has to offer.

Never fails to disappoint, have been going for the last 20 years and it’s always service with a big smile, great vibes around the bar, fabulous people watching spot if sat outside. Great food, restaurant area is proper old school style, comfortable with plenty of space and areas to sit. Can’t fault the place. One of my favourite places to visit/stay when in Soho/London. The hotel next door is well run, good rooms of usual “Soho House” standards.

Freshly prepared food, very tasty. The atmosphere was good for Thursday night. It seems to attract office workers and locals too. I had a Spanish omelette and it was very good.

Reviewing after two visits. First experience really good. Enjoyed our breakfasts, good service. Only downside, awful massage spa, type, continuous music. Was happy enough overall to visit again. This time had to remind order twice. Difficult to attract attention of staff who were on phone or socialising, rather than paying attention to customer's. Seem like nice people, but business should be aware that customer pays wages. If second visit had been first, would not have returned.

Sanctuary on a trip to town, needing a cosy space for an hour in a hectic, corporate neighborhood. Quiet, unique space and friendly atmosphere, fabulous coffee, quiche and carrot cake. A real find
